Not sure how this place has so many 4+ reviews, but my food was very disappointing. Tuna Tataki appetizer - very skimp on the ponzu sauce, and tuna was very fishy. Toro sashimi - I was really looking forward to this when I saw it listed on the menu as this is my favorite cut of tuna. However, what came out was not what I expected. I got two pieces of what looked like grey spam. Toro normally has a slight pink color with cloudy fat incorporated as it's the fatty belly section of the tuna, but this was straight up grey and very fishy tasting. Rain Forest roll - Another roll with a very fishy taste and the sauce on top did not compliment the ingredients of the roll at all.Tempura Udon - Another let down as this Udon broth had little to no flavor. Sushi is not supposed to taste overly fishy, Â but every piece of fish we had here tasted that way. I'm not sure if it was the way it was being stored or it could've been just old. If I could eat here everyday I would! Lol all the raw fish they have is so fatty, I'm drooling just thinking about it. I mean you can see the fish oil floating in your soy sauce after dipping it in there lol when I ordered the mexican roll i was just expecting this small plain roll. First off, it was not small. Second, it was somehow the best mexican roll I've ever had! I have tired one of their fancy signature rolls and wasn't all that impressed so do yourself a favor and stick to the basics!! More...

Had high hopes after reading reviews. We ordered via Uber eats. Ordered chicken/steak hibachi and a tuna roll. Hibachi was bland and overpriced. Sushi ok. No wasabi.

Visiting Tampa from VA, came here for dinner. The fish was extremely fresh, the salmon literally melted in my mouth. The prices were very reasonable, sashimi pieces were thiccccc. Super friendly service as well. Highly recommended! More...

Ordered Umai Cafe from Uber eats (which I don't usually use due to high fees and what they take from businesses) however it has been a LONG DAY. I decided to go with two rolls plus a seaweed salad which all arrived well and intact. I went with the Samurai roll and Ichiban roll after reading some reviews. Between the two, I ordered the Ichiban roll which had a lot of flavor and crunch which was a perfect combo. The rolls were definitely pricey at $18 for the Ichiban and $16 for the Samurai but definitely marked up due to Uber Eats. The seaweed salad was a good size for the price and delicious. Both rolls had extremely fresh fish and traveled well considering. Overall, I wish the rolls were a few dollars cheaper but the quality of the fish was excellent. The samurai roll didn't blow me away so I'll try a different option next time. Highly recommend the Ichiban roll and looking forward to my next visit! More...
