Ultra Hair Studio

I found Ultra using Yelp. They're about 5 minutes from my house and were able to squeeze me on short notice. And I'm so grateful i did. My appointment was for 9 am which is also their opening time but they let me in when I got there 10 minutes early and greeted me warmly. Natalie was my stylist and I couldn't have been in better hands! She was very knowledgeable and helped me decide on a long term plan to get my hair healthy and my desired shade. She chatted with me but not so much that I felt overwhelmed and told me everything she was doing and why, always making sure I was on board with what she was doing. I'm really picky when it comes to my hair I either want blonde highlights or dark hair. Paris is always able to help me out with my decision and she knows what I want. She also tells me what I need to do to keep my hair healthy which I love that's my goal is to have healthy hair since I had a really bad experience with a hairstylist years ago. The best service ever I swear by it! I go to this salon and the staff is always so friendly and they so kind. Paris is my ride or die for my hair styles because I go for like super edgy hair cuts. Like i went from long wavy hair to like a pixie cut. And I was nervous at first and like Paris turned it out and I love my short hair even more than my long hair. I got my hair done by Parris about a year ago (June 2017) and I am still receiving compliments on how good it looks. It was my first time changing my hair color in a long time and I asked for a balayage with light brown tones so that the change was subtle (since my hair is naturally brown) and Parris nailed it. She gave me exactly what I wanted and I was so happy with my hair. It has grown out a lot since then but the color still look really good. I went in for a haircut and Enrique the owner took me in right away. He washed my hair, cut it and styled it for $35.00 (what a GREAT price). Can't say enough about this salon!Its beautifully decorated and superbly ran by the stylists. After having my hair long for years, I finally made the decision to cut it and although I was very apprehensive and nervous, Parris was very reassuring and I couldn't have been happier with the final look! She even suggested making the cut a-symmetrical which I thought was crazy but I LOVE IT!Parris is a genius and Darlene is a gem! This is my second review at this salon. I have been trying to let my grey grow out and having highlights put in hoping to make the transition easier. I remembered this other hairdresser (Paris) who's hair color was impressive to me and decided to try her. I'm so glad I did. This my second time coming and each time I am very satisfied with their work. Each time I have gone they take their time to really ask you what you want and give you their professional opinion. Parris does awesome work! I was in desperate need of change from the bland style I had achieved from never dying it and being too lazy/cheap to get a nice cut every once in a while. She really just understands what look you're going for and explained everything to me so I knew what she was going to do. She really took her time and made sure I was comfortable with it. I highly recommend this place for many reasons. For one, Paris always gets it right. I am very easygoing and believe in letting the artist work their canvas, but for some reason every other place I went to would end up making my hair look the same. Not with Paris- she just gets it. She's highly trained and constantly working to improve her craft. She is teaching at a beauty college and that speaks for itself. My hair went from boring everyday curl to blonde bombshell. Darlene has been cutting my hair for over 10 years and I'm so glad she opened her own shop!  My hair is long and thick and other stylists had trouble taming my mane.  I used to dread hair appointments (I've even left salons crying) and would wear a ponytail or baseball hat most days until I met Darlene.Darlene does an amazing job with my hair, taking the time to make sure each strand of hair is cut, colored, and put into place.  I love that she offers honest advice and isn't afraid to tell me that a color or haircut will not work with my face shape or hair type.  She has also come in early or stayed late to accommodate my busy work schedule.  The shop is super cute but small (so advance appointments are a must).  There are also great brushes, shampoo and conditioner, and styling products available from all my favorite brands.  I've had blow outs, up-dos, highlights, cut and color and never been disappointed! I love Veronica. She is so friendly and bubbly and will always give you the truth about what is going to be best for you and your hair. I trust her so much, esp because she knows how careful and picky I am with my hair and never steers me wrong. So glad I trusted the yelp reviews. I'm not one to walk-in to a hair salon and take my chances. I like knowing that my hair is in the right hands. I walked-in and got Natalie. I'm glad to know that I trusted my hair in the right hands. She did a Fantastic job!!!! It's hard to find someone that will cut your hair the exact way you tell them. I uploaded a before and after. Seeing that my hair was very long and I was going very drastic to a short bob. I'm not one to be a "walk-in" patron, but my go to hair stylist was indisposed and I was in dire need of a hair cut.I decided on Ultra Hair Studio because my friend highly recommended Parris. I'm so glad I took the chance! Parris was absolutely lovely! She was very amiable and attentive. She asked a lot of questions about how I normally style my hair and what look I was going for. Im writing this review after coming to this salon for over a year now. In 2012 I had a MAJOR hair disaster. I felt so worried and scared that my once long (to my butt) hair would not return to normal. My hair literally started breaking off. It looked as though I was chopping it all off, but wasn't. I searched and searched for a good salon and had no luck. I looked through yelp and found Ultra Hair Studio. I decided to give them a call and told them my situation. They set me up with an appointment with Parris who is amazing! She always made suggestions based on what would be best for me. Her opinion has always been the best! For the past year now my hair has grown, and become so much more healthier. I cannot thank her enough. She's done such amazing work for me. Everyone at the salon is super friendly and helpful. I found Ultra Hair Salon from yelp and first came into the salon as a walk-in. I was helped by Paris (or is it Parris?) who was fantastic. Very friendly and professional. I was going from blonde to dark and everyone knows that a terrible transition time. They use Schwarzkopf color which also happens to be what I've been using to color my hair since I started so that was a definite plus. Paris was very understanding and listened to everything I said. She has a good eye and cut my hair perfectly. I've gone to her a few times now and she always does a great job. The salon does get busy, but Paris has never shorted me on attention at any point of being there. The other stylists are just as friendly and personable as well. I definitely consider myself a regular now since I wouldn't trust my dye jobs to anyone else now. -The prices are on the lower end for salons that I've been to, but they are in the average price range for hair salons. You aren't going to be getting a Supercuts or a Fantastic Sam's cut/color so don't expect the prices to be. -The location can be tricky to spot, but keep in mind that it is at the end of the row of stores and nearby an empty lot on the corner. -Also when you first go they have you fill out a customer form thing and if you give them your email they on occasion have specials for a month or extra things that they offer at the salon.I took advantage of a cut&color one a few months ago. It's a really good deal.-they do close fairly early 6-7pm, but on one occasion Paris stayed a little later than usual to finish up my cut & color. Okay so I am giving 5 stars to this place because of the great costumer service.  Even when they are booked they seem to really care and reschedule you. I remember one of the girls: Paris.  I remember her because she had this unique style and she was really nice.  I think all the girls are really nice and friendly.  As for the price.. it's a little too expensive.  I wish it was less.  I say this because I am in need of a haircut every two to three months and it is hard for me to pay 45 for a haircut all the time.  This would be my all time go to place if it was 30 for a haircut and extra for a blow dry or style that way we could chose.    Anyway as for the haircut, I like my hair cuts I feel like they always listen and continue to show you throughout the hair cut how it's coming along and how much more you want cut. The only time I had an ok. experience was when one of the times my bangs were cut very thick.  But other than that it's a good place to go.  Makes me want to go there all the time.  I am in need of a hair cut now and I am searching for cheaper places only because of the money issue.  However I went across the street one time to another salon and their customer service was bad and well the lady didn't really listen to what I wanted.  I guess that's what you get for a cheaper price so I'll be coming back here I guess I just gotta save up. I walked in one day just to check it out, and Maggie was the one who greeted me. She was so sweet and warm that it made me feel like I had been going for years.
