I came to Tyson Training because I decided I needed some one-on-one training because I wasn’t getting too far in my weight Loss on my own. Joe and Trina definiately give you a good workout and they answer any questions you have about nutrition and the exercise you’re doing. I lost 60lbs in a matter of months. I was referred to Tyson's Training by a former track teammate i had in high school. I had the opportunity to train with Joe and Trina. They are both very patient, persistent, and motivated to help my strength develop and to help me reach my body goals. I noticed a huge difference in my strength and endurance from training with them. I was referred to Tyson’s Training by my best friend. I was active throughout college and had noticed that I had gained over ten pounds since graduating. I did my first trial workout with my best friend and the owner (Joe Tyson). I told him about my concerns, I told him who my celebrity “body goals” were, and he was very knowledgeable about changes I needed to make to successfully meet my goals! It took me a couple of weeks to sign up; I wanted to ensure I did my research and that I was making the right decision. I am so glad I did! When I first began I was so out of shape I couldn’t even do a sit-up. Trina (one of the trainers) transformed my body within the first month. She is very detailed and gives you that one-on-one feeling even with the small group sessions. She challenged me! Even when I would whine and complain about something I didn't “think” I could do. She also texts me personally when I miss a workout with encouraging and motivating messages. I have noticed a significant change in my strength, physical, and mental health! What I love most about this gym is the science that goes behind the workouts. The trainers and the owner want you to succeed and meet your fitness goals. I Just started with Tyson Training, im training with the owner of the company and It has been an awesome experience! He customized a workout routine and customized a meal plan just for me. After receiving troubling news from the doctor regarding my high sugar levels, my cousin referred me to Tyson Training. During my initial research, I was most impressed by the hours, trial classes offered, the customized health experience, and her progress after a few months of training. The consultation was a thorough overview of what to expect from the trainers and the gym itself. I signed up for a year-long membership immediately following the consult. The owner, Joe, was knowledgeable about diabetes and what changes I can make to prevent it, as I was still in the prediabetic stage. The supplements and nutritional meal plan recommendations aided my sugar intake levels and influenced dietary changes.My first session and introduction to my trainer, Trina, reassured me; she was welcoming, detailed, and attentive during the small group sessions. She also sent daily motivational texts for encouragement and suggested tons of fitness tips. I also gained several accountability partners while training! More importantly, the environment is conducive for small children. My biggest concern was care for my daughter (5) during my workouts. Thankfully, the studio has great entertainment for children and encourages fitness at a young age. I would highly recommend Tyson Training to both men and women. Check these guys out if you are in the DMV area. If you are serious about achieving your fitness goals while having some fitness fun, then its the right place to be. .
The trainers are experienced and hands on. They keep you motivated with creative yet challenging exercises that guarantee results. The flexible hours work great with my schedule especially the 5am sessions.
They have varying workout sessions based on your fitness level or goals. I prefer the unlimited small group training sessions, which creates an environment of accountability among group members.
Not only am I seeing results but its been a great learning experience on good form and technique. The trainers are careful in explaining the benefit of each workout and what muscle groups, etc the exercise is targeting.
So definitely give Tyson Training a try for a new workout experience.

I have been training with Joe and Trina on and off ( as a result of life events) for the past 4 years. I have trained consistently with Trina for the past 3 years. Trina makes working out fun. She gives me the push I need to continue to show up and work hard despite my lack of motivation. Without these two I would have never been able to gain the confidence that I need to make health lifestyle choices. For this reason and the fact that I've been able to reach my weight loss goals, this is the longest I have ever stuck with one trainer. They have a true passion for what they do. More...

Tyson Training is a great place to discover what your body is able to do, on it's own. It's not like a traditional gym with weights and TV's around. Here you really use your own body and some machines, to get the maximum benefits. Here I get to see how strong I really am on my own, without the help of a machine. I feel welcomed by the staff and patrons in my group. The trainers are knowledgeable and challenge you to do your very best based on their knowledge of how your specific body works. I've gained so much more than muscle here. I have a new sense of freedom and set of abilities I didn't know I had before! More...
