They would quickly get back to my questions and made me feel at ease during wedding planning which can be difficult. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with amazing catering, amazing customer service, awesome staff and the BEST coordinator around. .. look no further! Melrose Market Studios was a dream come true to work with! I cannot say ONE bad thing. There wasn’t one thing I’d change and I can gush about everything. First, the venue is beautiful and a great canvas for an intimate evening celebrating love. It’s lighting is perfection for beautiful photos and the setup makes it easy to host a lot of people. The venue is clean and comes with great lights, a nice bathroom, a back area to store and also to have a place to hide before the ceremony. The staff. Now I am a real stickler when it comes to customer service... The coordinator for the venue and catering, Hanna Dillard is an absolute blessing! She is responsive, flexible, easy to work with, organized, efficient, helpful and truly made this experience amazing. There were cheaper places but none that came with her! We went a little over budget but she made it possible to spend the money where we wanted and how we wanted! Can’t say enough good things about working with her. The staff was THE BEST. Bartenders, servers, the opener to the space.. she was just there to open doors but ended up helping decorate and it was beautiful because of her! The staff made our wedding stress free and really helped out with everything. I can’t recommend this place enough, seriously. THE BEST!! Costs are extremely competitive. They do it the right way. Catering company first, venue second. Meaning customer service and ability to work with couples to make their dream come true! More...

She was friendly and professional. On the wedding day I was the first to arrive and was grateful to see the Tuxedo and Tennis Shoes team already at work with the tables and linens in place. They were in positive spirits and ready to make our client's day amazing. Throughout the entire wedding this upbeat, flexible, professional crew kept delivering amazing service. Food was put out on time, questions were answered, and many laughs were shared. The team was lead by Emmanuel, who was a rock star. When planning an open house this past couple of months I asked a friend who works in the food industry for a recommendation on a good caterer.  I had already called 2 local caterers but being so close to Thanksgiving, both of these caterers were unwilling to help me out.  I contacted Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes and was connected with Sammi who was both professional and very accomodating.  I needed food for both a family dinner this past Friday night and an open house this past Saturday.  These guys make it super easy!  They have a seasonal menu in which you simply pick which platters you want and they will deliver it to you for a small charge.  Sammi helped me with gluten free and vegan options and made suggestions on how much to order based on the number of people we expected.  And she was spot on!  The food was all delicious and they made it soooo easy!  The food came on compostable platters, as well as compostable napkins and plates and they looked beautiful as well as tasted amazing!  This was the easiest party I have ever prepared for and I plan to use them again in the future!  Thank you guys for thinking of everything! We recently had Tennis Shoes and Tuxedos cater our wedding at Mystique Ranch.  Kait was wonderful to work with throughout- very quick to answer any questions, and great with communicating any updates on her end.  From booking through execution, she made sure we were on the same page and was very flexible about accommodating things like bringing our own liquor and figuring out how to squeeze everyone into our almost-too-small venue. On the wedding day, we were very happy with T&T- everyone raved about the food, and the service was impressively seamless.  Steve did a great job of running the show- his crew was like catering ninjas, taking care of everything without anyone even noticing they were there.  I especially appreciated them washing our pint glass favors when it was discovered that some were broken during shipping, to ensure none of the unbroken ones had any glass shards in them- to me, that was above and beyond what we expected.  They were also very flexible about us deciding at the last minute to go ahead and do the ceremony outside (necessitating a change in setup), after we'd previously resigned ourselves to an indoor ceremony due to the weather. Our one issue was that the mai tai recipe we provided wasn't followed- the drink was still good, it just wasn't the signature mai tai we'd wanted.  We provided this feedback directly and they were very apologetic about it- it was a minor detail and in the grand scheme of things and probably just an oversight, but we were glad to feel like we'd been heard when we brought it to their attention after the fact. We went in this very southern comfort food direction and didn't go with anything from their regular menu except for some of the appetizers. They were very excited to work with us and to create recipes for us. We asked them to make a Bourbon Sweet Tea which is a drink we just made up, and they nailed it! People still ask me about that recipe and I have to tell them that it's just whatever Tuxedos and Tennis shoes made up. They were also very open about letting us bring our own desserts and setting them up for us. They had so many fun cute ideas about presentation and also help us with all of the rentals, even chair sashes and other non-food related things. My husband and I got married a little over a month ago and we had the reception in the Emerald Room at the Hall at Fauntleroy, (exclusive venue for Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes) and here is my review:Event space: Simply gorgeous. We knew we wanted a fall wedding, and we wanted it to be in a unique space. This venue has its own parking lot but it is shared since there are other offices at the Hall at Fauntleroy. There are 2 rooms available for rent: Emerald and Vashon. We decided to go with the Emerald since it held more guests (250). The exposed brick is beautiful and there are several large mirrors and windows that open up the space. There's also a stage, and we used this for our dance floor. There's a foyer space that we used for our photobooth. I knew immediately that I wanted to celebrate our wedding reception here.Event planners: Kristin and Amanda were great to work with. We had Kristin originally, but since she went on maternity leave, she let us know that she would hand us over to Amanda, her assistant. I got a little worried, since we started planning with Kristin, but Amanda was on point. She answered my questions in a timely manner, and she was open to compromise with whatever we requested/needed.Food: Uh-maze-ing. Pro tip: go to their open house. I think they have 2 showcases every year. The first one we went to was at the Hall at Fauntleroy and the second one was at Melrose Market. You'll get to sample great food, drinks and see how they set up an event.Execution of event: This is the only reason why I didn't give this 5 out 5 stars. The day was great overall and as the bride, at the time I tried to focus on the positives of the day. I've always been big on planning and since it was my wedding day I wanted everything to be perfect. But as all large events, things are bound to go wrong no matter how far in advance you plan. With the mishaps at my wedding reception, I'm thinking these were due to miscommunication and overlooked details on their part1) I'm not sure what happened, but our $300+ cake that we bought was not served/eaten. We did have a dessert buffet and I think the servers just thought our wedding sheet cakes were supposed to be part of it? Which is fine, but I asked a few friends post-wedding, and they said they think the cake was on the table, but the box was not open. Honestly, if I were a guest and I saw a box on a table, I wouldn't know what to do with it.2)On the "Event Planning Sheet" that I needed to fill out, I marked "champagne flutes passed" for the toasts. This was not done, and guests had to get their own champagne from the bar.3)We had 5 tables set up on stage for dinner, but we requested that the tables be moved off stage after (specifically after the garter/bouquet toss) so that there would be an easy transition from dinner to dancing. This may sound strange, but I was assured from the beginning that the transition would go smoothly, as it is normal for TNT staff to do this for large events. Tables were moved way too early (shortly after dinner) and that left around 30-40 guests and friends standing for about 2+ hours.I would definitely recommend using Tuxedos & Tennis shoes as a catering company, however just go over all the details and timeline thoroughly before your big event. Happy event planning! More...
