The food was amazing! Thre portions on the biryani were huge it could have fed all 3 of us.  Thre portions on thre tandoori shrimp and thre lamb aloo were also large.  Great spice.  Naan were huge.  The portions compared to other Indian restaurants were double or more than what you get at other places.  Highly recommend.  Can't wait to try their buffet. At first I was disappointed because they would not allow us in because we had a device dog with us. However, after quoting the ADA  and educating them on the law they showed us in. We went to this amazing place for lunch. We were visiting from California and must tell you if you want to try authentic Indian food you should definitely try this place. We ordered Paneer platter and Veg Biryani(big portion i.e enough for 3 people). The taste was really amazing and close to home. We really liked the way they served the paneer platter. The pieces of paneer were big enough compared to any other Indian restaurant we tried so far in USA. They also have lunch buffet in which you get lots of variety. We will definitely visit again. This is my new favorite Indian food restaurant in Utah.My husband has lived in India at three different points in his life and is very particular with Indian food. We have tried many restaurants throughout Utah and been let down by most. Most are good (Indian food is hard to make absolutely terrible), but don't wow us. Well, step aside everyone else! Turmeric is the winner! The highlight was probably their Biryani. Most Indian restaurants around SLC don't have Biryani and if they do, it is boring and lackluster. The Biryani here was incredible. So flavorful! I haven't had it in Hyderabad, but my husband has and said this was the closest he's had in Utah. The curries we had were also incredible. Flavorful and delicious. The only thing I wish was a little better is the Peshwari Naan. It was good, but I've had better. Regardless, I loved this meal and I will DEFINITELY be back soon! More...

This was my first experience with an Indian restaurant.  The waiter was super helpful.  My group was unfamiliar with some of the dishes and he took time to explain  everything.  I was a little worried about the spice level as I am not a fan of ginger or anise and tumeric can be overpowering but I was pleasantly surprised and am now a big fan of Indian food....we'll at least Tumeric's.  We had Hakka noodles, biryanis, assorted pakora, naan (flatbread) and a house salad (cucumber and tomato). I got their curry combo lunch special to take out today and it did not disappoint. I have been craving Indian food all morning and didn't know where to go. I know Turmeric is right by my office but had never been before, mostly because it's a sit down spot and I don't take a lunch break. I went in and asked if they do take out and the host confirmed they did. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and veggie coconut korma curries. Both were really delicious and the combo comes with some rice, naan and dessert. The food was delicious and flavorful, hot, spicy, tasty and filling. Tried out their new lunch specials and was impressed. For $9 you can get a curry meal or biriyani and it's good. There is better biriyani in SLC, but it's a bit more than here. My only complaint is that the server gave us water but was holding the top of the pitcher where you would pour the water from, which is just bad form. I'll come back but hope they get this addressed. I moved here from the north side of Chicago where the Indian food is fantastic, after trying countless Indian restaurants after moving to the SLC area, I’ve decided that Tumeric is definitely my favorite and comes closest to my old fav on Devon Ave in Chi.

Awesome Indian food! We're out-of-towners who were skeptical about whether or not we could find good Indian food in Utah but we're pleasantly surprised to have found this place. We got the chicken tikka masala and chicken aloo, which were both super good. They offer different spiciness levels: medium, medium hot, hot, and very hot. They also have vegan and vegetarian options, which is great.Our waiter was very attentive and was kind enough to re-do the spiciness level for me when he asked how the dishes were. Highly recommend! Pretty simple and unassuming surroundings.  The location is great for the Eccles Theatre or if you are finishing up a day downtown. Plenty of veggie options for those who don't eat meat, but if you are a meat eater you must have the butter chicken, as good as I have had anywhere.  The veggie masala was OK but not in the same league as the butter chicken.  Naan was good, mixed appetizer plate very acceptable and tasty.  We found the server very friendly and helpful. The main sticking point for us, however, was the lack of a liquor license, so no cold beer to wash down the spicier dishes.  Apparently no intent to get a license either - the host told us "it's a Mormon building, we are not allowed" - not sure if this is really the case or not. Great food - good prices. Authentic Indian with excellent flavors and good presentation. Prices around $12 -15 per entree. Regent Street continues to evolve as a "go to" setting near the Eccles Theatre downtown, and Turmeric is another strong addition. A very simple, no frills layout....but the food is excellent. Curries, Tikka Masala, Tandoori chicken were all delicious on this first visit. Their naan is nicely prepared. Their mango lassi was so concentrated in flavor I actually cut it with water.This first visit was midweek, and the restaurant was about half-full in early evening. This new, casual Indian restaurant on Regent Street checks all the boxes. Authentic cuisine, clean and modern environment, cheerful staff, spicy food, basmati rice and oh yeah, sweet naan (not always on some menus). Beware of the spicy factor.
