Turk Interiors

Turk Interiors is phenomenal! We started working with them for a main level remodel project that included new flooring, wall color, trim color, door color, new furniture, window treatments, painting an antique dining set, and all new accessories and lighting! I was overwhelmed with decisions, lacked confidence in my style, and knew I needed guidance. I found Tricia right here on Houzz! I am a military spouse and liked the fact that she has previous experience being a military spouse (now retired). This alone spoke volumes of the many different settings she has been in, having to decorate, as well as the many people she has helped over the years. She really connected with my vision right away and has continued to find pieces for my project that are absolutely perfect! I continually tell her "I trust you!" :)

To say I am pleased is quite the understatement. I have been super impressed with the decisions made all in line with my style and vision. I am seeking an overall end result that will stand the test of time. With this in mind, she has continually steered me away from options that are "too trendy". I appreciate this so much. Instead I am choosing for more trendy accessories and the big pieces are more timeless. She is well aware of current trends, but certainly knows what will last. She has introduced ideas I would have never thought of, but have loved. She is prompt and responsive to messages. There were several times I was in a store, needed a quick response to make a decision, and she responded right away! She has also stuck to my budget which my husband likes!

Tricia is creative, sensitive to your personal style, responsive, honest, fun to work with, conscious of your budget, and reasonable. The team at Turk Interiors, Tricia and Carrie, are outstanding. Turk Interiors was the design consultant for the remodel of our dining room, living room and den area. I wanted to update my 1980 townhome in a modern style. Tricia understood the look I was going for and guided me in that direction. She gave me invaluable advice on paint colors (she brought cans of paint to our house to try colors on the wall), window treatments (cool window panels), furniture, lamps, and rugs. She even hung some art work.

Tricia is a great person to work with and very easy to talk to. After 30 years of particular interior design styles like six panel doors in our old house, we were open to change. She listened to our ideas and helped us incorporate new decorating features into our new home that would complement our furniture. She helped us stay close to our budget which is real difficult on a new house and we now have an exciting new home with warm rooms and fresh design features to enjoy every day. Tricia and Turk Interiors was our first experience with an interior designer. I had no idea what to expect the first time she came to our home, and I admit I was worried.

I even had myself second guessing her ideas, only to choose the exact same items she had already shown us to begin with. I am pretty certain she was a little frustrated with me too, but was far too polite to say anything...

In the end, we were left with a stunning kitchen and dining room, and the beginning of an idea for our living room.

Tricia and Turk Interiors did an excellent job with managing an overwhelming kitchen re-model project for us. With both my husband and I working full-time, we really did not have the time to sort out all the options, styles, colors, and then once decided on that - to make it all fit within the infamous budget! Having Tricia on our side - really made a difference. She was able to show me 3 or so styles to pick from so I wouldn't get hung up on making a choice and this of course is after she LISTENED to what we liked and desired and made sure it would work with the budget. She was and is a true professional and handled all the contractors and sub contractors throughout the project (many thanks for that!) We couldn't be more pleased with the results! We have a 7000 SF Colorado lodge style home in Black Forest that was built in 1996. After 20 years, we knew it was time for some refreshing, and we went to Tricia Turk based on the hearty recommendation of two others. We are so glad we did! Tricia is both professional and warm and has a keen eye for beauty and practicality. Because our remodel was extensive and included every room of the house, having her oversight and wisdom (even to the point of coordinating with contractors and other designers) was invaluable. We're delighted with the palette she picked for our walls and moldings, helping us decide on spectacular granite and backsplash in our kitchen, saving us a bundle by framing rather than replacing existing bathroom mirrors, and in general giving us peace of mind with countless decisions we were making all at once. I had a typical builder grade bathroom. With no door from the master. It was Nothing special to look at before. Tricia helped make my bathroom look like a completely custom spa with just a change of tile, paint and light fixtures. We came in over $2,000 under budget! I now have a beautiful bathroom with a door!
She is a visionary. She put up with my crazy OCD personality to give me just what I asked for.

Tricia was referred to me by a neighbor who had her redesign her kitchen.

She listened carefully to our ideas, making suggestions along the way, suggesting pros and cons and some tweaks. She managed to pull me out of my "matchy-matchy" comfort zone with my kitchen cabinets in that I never would have had the courage to do a different color island vs wall cabinets. I'm grateful that she did this as the result was beautiful!

She accompanied me on visits to our contractor and was a big help in choosing the finishes we wanted.

Tricia was highly recommended by our contractor and she did not disappoint. We purchased a 1994 home and she help us remodel from top to bottom. She helped with wall color, kitchen cabinets, tile, carpet, and all things you can think of when remodeling. She drove from Colorado Springs to Denver twice to help in the selection of granite. I was overwhelmed with the entire moving process, but I thought a decorator could help ease the stress. Thankfully, I was right. Tricia ordered shutters for our new home, and started on the ceiling fans and lighting while we were still a couple of months from move in. I don't know that I ever gave her a budget, but she always has high, low, and middle selections for me to choose from. After we moved in, she used our furnishings and "decorated" the entire house, then hung my pictures. I would still be unpacking and undecided if she had not stepped in and completed the big picture. Tricia first helped me when we moved into new quarters on a base in CA. It truly was the nicest house I'd ever borrowed in my life but I hated that it was boring and looked like everyone else on the block, literally. She helped me welcome folks into my home just by teaching me where items should be placed and not just to avoid the boring, she ran it out of my house for good.

When we got to move to our grown up home in CO on Lookout Mountain, I knew I could count on Tricia to help me make it feel like mine, even though I didn't get to build it.

Tricia listened to what I needed: my love for a family space that looked real, my love for the outdoors, my love for color, my love for wine and my love for keeping things simple.

Tricia knew what budget I was working with and how I needed to get this done while I worked full time and my husband worked out of state. She more than met both of those needs. She was here for deliveries, helped problem solve in finding the perfect table for my space - even when I waffled on my vision. The suggestions she made for paint, lights and art in the entry way created a welcome to our home that is as tasty as the wine we share.

The "Hang Out" room is awesome! We had a large finished basement, but the design of the room was a lot of space that was unusable. Somehow we like the acres of monochrome beige and scattergram that was our basement. Tricia was able to see the potential right away.

She painted a picture of a basement that would be fun for a super bowl party, and still relaxing. She saw how we could better use the space by closing off parts and shifting the focus in an entirely different direction. And she patiently reviewed and explained with us more than a few times how the colors, added wall, and flooring would work to make the hang out space somewhere we would actually want to hang out in. We couldn't see the finished the way Tricia could. Tricia spends a lot of time listening, reviewing our concerns, and working with our budget and priorities, so we trusted that it would be what we wanted.

And it is! We had a great super bowl party watching the Bronco's win Super Bowl 50. And we regularly spend time as a family in our music room (piano, guitars, drums et, and chalk-paint wall). The air hockey tournament is a perpetual playoff, and it is simply a great space to hang out in. We're looking forward to our next project with Tricia and Turk Interiors. Tricia is a miracle worker! I came to her with a "furniture warehouse" of a room that had potential but needed editing. She went above and beyond, using her creativity and keen eye to put together a living room that's functional and beautiful. I've had a lot of experience using many different designers throughout the years, but Tricia Turk has been the most on point, efficient, and "wise" designer I've encountered. She has guided me through a major renovation of a 1950's rancher assisting me in the design, material selection, color selection, furniture purchase and placement, and has selected an artist to paint a large abstract mural for our living room.. Our house has transformed from a boring house on a super awesome lot to a modern chic comfortable home for us. She has been extremely valuable in pulling all my random thoughts together, because, although I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, she's been able to make it flow coherently. She was helpful in communicating with my builder these design thoughts. On walk throughs after certain projects were completed, she would comment on whether something needed to be redone or amended in some way--these were things I would have let pass, but she insisted they be redone. Throughout the process, she has been extremely organized, efficient, on task, on time and conscientious of the budget. She was good about telling me that I needed to spend the money on certain things and not spend it on others. Her wisdom comes in recommending the proper size/fit/function and her eye for color is exceptional. She has been invaluable in keeping me on track when I tend to get off track on the design and checking in throughout the process to make sure things were going on cue. After taking down the popcorn ceilings in my living room, den and kitchen, I was stuck as to how to paint the rooms. They all opened up into each other. Also, I had very little furniture and zero style going on. A friend recommended Turk Interiors and I set up a consultation. Tricia asked questions about what I did and didn't like and then designed a theme for my rooms based on colors from a painting I had in one room.

Tricia set up a online site where we could show me some of her ideas and I could weigh in on them. She shopped for furniture, rugs, lamps and let me test each item out to see if I liked them. Some items were new and other were used, then refinished and painted.

I needed help. I purchased a nice home with a blahly finished interior. My ability to coordinate colors, design or anything pertaining to the type of finish I wanted in my home was non-existant. I decided to seek the assistance of a professional. After speaking with a few design candidates, I chose the expertise of Tricia Turk and Turk Interiors. I can now say since the project is complete, I could not have made a better choice. I have been extremely pleased with Tricia's work. Something that was important to me and one of the most impressive qualities of her skill-set was her ability to read into me as an individual (not knowing really what I wanted) and designing exactly what I would have envisioned if I had the ability to do so. I wanted to change my dining room/living room but struggled because the rooms share a common wall and I just couldn't seem to put together colors and ideas on what I wanted. I found Turk Interiors and was able to have Tricia Turk consult me step by step. This was a huge help with me being in New Hampshire. I would send Tricia pictures of my room and the furniture that I had. She then asked me various questions about my budget, my taste in decorating, which pieces of furniture I really liked, etc...
She then sent a floor plan to me and what color paint to use for the wall and trim, pictures of curtains, decorations, etc.. that I could purchase, ideas on light fixtures, even ideas on just changing out hardware on the doors.!!
The rooms came out beautiful, and she stayed within my budget that we set. I love my rooms!!
I wasn't sure how the long distance consulting would work out but Tricia laid it out so easy for me to follow!! I would do it again in a heartbeat! if I had any questions she was always available.

Tricia Turk came into my home when we moved to Colorado and was very professional and helpful in her interior design suggestions. She first listened intently on what my preferences are in terms of style and then made suggestions based upon my own desire for a clean, non-cluttered, Spaniard-style design. What impressed me most was that she also took the time to send me the names and contact information for the individuals/companies I could use for interior painting, curtains, hardwood floors and even a young artist who could do custom artwork for my walls. I'd been wanting to redecorate my master bedroom but was paralyzed by indecision. I decided I needed help and hired Turk Interiors because I had seen some of their work and liked it. Before the work began I appreciated the time that Tricia took to understand my style. We talked through a number of different ideas, all of which I liked. Tricia was hired to help us with our master bedroom. Our bedroom was very boring and needed some serious help. In less than a week after our first consultation Tricia had great sketches and ideas of what we could do with the bedroom. She was very sensitive to our budget and kept that in mind through the entire project. Tricia met and handled all the vendors who we worked with and brought our room to life with amazing window treatments, wall lighting, hand selected an 8 x 10 area rug and she also took some photos that I really loved of our daughter and had them put on canvas as wall art. At one point, the wall sconces arrived for the electrician to install and they were absolutely perfect but the finish was not what we expected and would not work for our bedroom. I was so attached to them and hated to send them back so Tricia refinished them in the perfect color for our room.
