Leadership development is an inside-out process. Behavior follows belief. The first and most fundamental truth is that you make a difference. “Before you can lead, you have to believe in yourself; that you can have a positive impact on others” (Kouzes & Posner, 2010, p. 255).

Leadership coaching and development is the process of enabling clients to:
* Become highly effective leaders
* Use Coaching as a way to lead and develop people
* Create coaching cultures
* Foster employee engagement
* Build successful organizations

 The leadership coaching and development process helps people grow as a leader. Growth comes from discovering their purpose, crafting their vision, and charting their course forward. Identifying, asking, and answering their most pressing leadership, career, and life/transition questions, and taking action to close the gap between where they are and their desired future.

Start Where You Are. You are not too late, and you're never too early. Design thinking can help you build your way forward from wherever you are, regardless of your life design problem. But before you can figure out which direction to head in, you need to know where you are and what design problems you are trying to solve." (Burnett & Evans, 2016, p.3)

Career planning that helps fulfill such essential criteria as those listed above is critical to achieving fulfilling careers and work-life balance.

The Current State of Job Change
Career and job change has changed from a job for life to many career and job changes throughout an individual's lifetime.

According to the Wall Street Journal (2010), U.S. workers will have seven careers in his or their lifetime (para. 2).

From a slightly different perspective, Doyle (2020) reports the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) insights that the average number of jobs in a lifetime is 12; (para. 5).

The key to effective career planning and decision-making is in aligning four factors to optimize career satisfaction and life balance:
*Clarifying core values
*Creating a personal vision
*Defining one's mission/purpose in life
*Identifying and leveraging one's strengths and talents

By reflecting on these four critical success factors for career planning and decision-making, clients lay a strong foundation for charting their course in life and career.

The good news is it is never too early to apply these principles and processes, and it's never too late. Just start where you are:

You are not too late, and you're never too early. Design thinking can help you build your way forward from wherever you are, regardless of your life design problem. But before you can figure out which direction to head in, you need to know where you are and what design problems you are trying to solve. (Burnett & Evans, 2016, p.3)

Life Coaching. Is it for You?
At a crossroads?
Are you struggling with work-life balance?
Are you feeling more stress in work & life?
In a season of restlessness?
Are you thinking about life after retirement?
Are you facing big decisions?

The pace of life is causing us to question leadership, energy, and career.

We find ourselves in seasons where we are searching for more fulfillment.

Workplace demands to do more with less are causing us to rethink our careers and work-life balance.

We are constantly asked to do more, better, and faster, with less time and resources.

"Stress is so prevalent and out of control, the United Nations calls stress the 21st-century health epidemic" (Robinson, 2013, p. 5).

"80% of leaders state coaching would help manage stress" (Baltes, Campbell, Martin, & Medding, 2007, p. 3).

Kaiser Permanente Reports:
*80% of employees are stressed at work.
*42% of employees have left a job due to stress.
*Workplace stress is estimated at $ 300 billion annually (Stress Management, 2018, p. 1)

The fast-paced nature of our lives and careers dictates that disruption is here to stay. Whether you are struggling as a leader or dealing with an ineffective leader at work, coping with life's challenges, or a season of restlessness, coaching will help you discover your passions, create your vision and purpose, and chart your course forward.

People seek life coaches mainly for the following reasons:

To achieve desired goals in personal and professional lives
*To find their life's purpose
* To find fulfillment (happiness)
* To change careers or start a new business
*To improve relationships (for example, becoming better parents)
*To help live a life free of addiction (Olubiyi, 2020, para. 7-8)

How Can Life Coaching Benefit You?
If you sense that there is more to life and would like to explore where you are currently, a vision for your preferred future, and how to close the gap between the two, coaching can help.

Life Coaching can increase your professional and personal effectiveness by as much as 80%. In a recent study by the International Coach Federation clients reported most clients reported:
*Improved work performance
*Better business management
*More efficient time management
*Increased team effectiveness
*More growth and opportunities

The same study found that coaching clients noted:
*Greater self-confidence
*Enhanced relationships
*More effective communication skills
*Better work-and-life balance
*An improvement in wellness ( Olubiyi, 2020, para. 7-8)

It is rare for people to take the time to explore possibilities in life, especially with a professional dedicated to helping them identify, ask, and answer their most important questions about life, life transitions, goals, and achieving goals. Life coaching can help you take action to close the gap between where you are and your desired future.

Coaching is effective. Studies have demonstrated that individuals working with a professional coach tend to accomplish their personal goals two to seven times faster.
