Traveling Hair Service

Tonya was incredible.  She's exactly what we needed.   She came to my Mom's house and was kind and full of sunshine.  She was gentle and treated my Mom like it was a spa day! My mother is 75 years old and she had a series of small strokes (TIAs) about 8 years ago and since then her personal hygiene has really deteriorated.  Her cognition has gotten worse and her short term memory has been effected.  My Mom won't let anyone help her with her hair/nails anymore, but when Tonya came in, she was so charming and respectful that my Mom went along with it without any fuss.My Mom's hair was matted and her nails were long and yellow.  Tonya asked her about how she wanted to style her hair, if she wanted bangs, etc...I assumed she would have to shave my Mom's head, but she didn't.  She cut the mattes, washed her hair very thoroughly, but gently, then shaped it and curled it!  She then cut my Mom's nails and massaged her hands with lotion. I haven't seen my Mom look so beautiful in years.She was also familiar with the skin condition that my Mom has developed and she said that next time we can give my Mom a "facial" and that will handle that situation.  I'm already looking forward to having her come back. They came out to cut my invalid dad's hair and nails. He liked them. It's expensive, around $100 plus tip, but he said they really took their time and did a great job and were super nice. I think he's going to stick with them. More...

Can I give SIX stars?  Mom is 101 and had a stroke last January.  Like most women of her age group she was brought up to be particular about her looks.  However;  after the stroke she could no longer see her previous stylist for logistical reasons and was not satisfied with those we could get her to.We are so so happy with Tonya:   she comes to the house and not only shampoos, cuts and sets Mom's hair but Tonya  gave Mom a permanent - which some younger stylists cannot do anymore, as well as giving ger manicures and pedicures, while Mom just sits in the kitchen and has a good time, without the pain and stress of get in in the car, out of the car, in the wheelchair, in the salon etc..Looking well makes Mom so happy, so the service is worth every penny.. Oh my gosh!! What service!  The stylist that came out was Tonya, she was so professional and caring.  She handled my grandmother with such kindness.  Never made her feel uncomfortable or uneasy.  She actually engaged in conversation with my grandmother and was genuinely interested in hearing what she had to say and made my grandmother feel special.Tonya did a fabulous job on my grandmother, and she made her day.  It's so nice to find a service that really cares about the client.   The company does it all, from head to toe.  Weaves, color perms.   It's great to know that Traveling Hair Service will accommodate patients in nursing homes, hospitals, and assisted living.  I am so happy I found you!!!! I was referred by a friend as my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, which eventually spread to other parts of her body, including her brain. Before she passed away a Traveling Hair Service sent a cosmetologist out to her home to groom her nails and to do a clean-up on what little hair she had left. The stylist was very friendly and she really connected with my grandmother. I felt like she had a lot of experience with elderly and she understood how good it would make her feel to have a clean-up. The prices are average hair styling fees, and a small additional charge, I believe, for traveling to the home, depending on where you live.I would definitely recommend this service if you have a loved one, or you are someone, that can't get out of their home! The stylist also mentioned that they go to hospitals, nursing homes, and retirement communities too. More...
