If you are looking for a personal trainer who can deliver a legitimate caring and focused experience, then Mike is THE person you need to work with. My personal experience is of one where I wanted to get in the gym and improve my body and mind, but the intimidation factor and the high pressure culture of pretty much every gym I tried was such a deterrent that I could never commit. From the first minute you meet Mike, it is clear that his focus is on your specific needs and making sure you have a fitness experience that makes you excited to improve yourself and meet the goals you want to reach. For me it was being skinny fat and wanting to build up muscle and improve my body image. In just 2 months time, through his coaching and mentoring he has not only given me the drive to keep going to the gym, but also achieved visible results that I considered non-realistic. Mike will work within your comfort or fitness levels and after every session you will always leave with a feeling that you have accomplished a step towards your fitness goals. He is not there to just run you ragged or scream at you to keep lifting more (unless you ask for him too), Mike is there working at 120% to help you develop a positive fitness journey that you will feel great about participating in. I was buzzing after my workout, the quads were on fire and I felt the full body workout in the best way. Mike let my curiosity run wild in the gym and I chose 6 items I was stoked about using every piece of equipment. Mike incorporated the items in a circuit that was challenging, creative and fun! I felt so hype about my workout because Mike was just as enthusiastic about the equipment I chose and I truly felt empowered by his encouragement to keep pushing. I surprised myself there. It's about building a life and lifestyle where fitness, wellness, and wholeheartedness come together. It's about building strength and stability in and out of the gym. It's about moving through resistance, pushing past limitation, and what happens when you invest in yourself and create the stability you deserve.

I believe in developing a clear understanding of your needs and goals, and building from wherever you are using a strengths-based approach.

Mainly discipline, but developing routine and healthy habits and practicing them with a mindful approach and really enjoying them, good old fashioned hard work and pushing yourself past limitation and the resistance.

I love seeing people building strength, confidence, being and doing their best. There is something so gratifying about helping people build a life that enables them to discover inner resources and then translate that into improved strength, conditioning, and stability in more ways than one.

I've always loved sports, so I started playing baseball at a young age. I began lifting in college and LOVED it. I loved the feeling of hitting new PRs, I love how empty my mind felt afterward, how important it was to neutralize stress and anxiety. Its truly so satisfying seeing the results of hard work pay off. In a world where so much is not in our control, the gym is a place where everything *is in our hands: the routine, the ambience, the energy, the playlist, and of course the weights. ? As a natural helper, I really feel so grateful for an opportunity to help another discover inner and outer strength in and out of the gym. There's nothing like the feeling of having a positive impact on the lives of others.

I'm a weight loss specialist, but serve a wide variety of different athletes. Some pursue goals related to muscle hypertrophy and gaining size and mass, others have aesthetic goals and aim to build a body that gives them confidence. Whatever your goals, I have your back.

I value mindfulness: mindful shopping, mindful eating, and mindful movement as part of a well-designed strength training program. I believe time spent in restful alertness brings benefits both in and out of the gym, on the body and the mind.

I view training, nutrition, and building a healthy lifestyle as important in promoting good mental health and wellness. Prioritizing good mental wellbeing is not an afterthought when it comes to fitness--in fact, it can be a primary reason you lift. There are numerous benefits to exercise and strength training including self-regulation and improved mood, building self esteem, increased energy, improved endurance, among others. I will hold you accountable, but from a place of support and nonjudgment, always finding ways to bring your awareness back to your goals.

I do offer remote coaching and nutrition coaching services. I prefer working in person in the gym, but I am flexible and willing to meet you where you are.

I offer remote services for those who'd prefer working out from home with equipment available to them. I'm more than willing to mask up for those with health issues, or those exercising caution while they exercise. I completely respect all levels of caution, and care most about respecting your right to exercise and build your fitness. I wipe down equipment as it is used. Please do let me know any additional accommodations you'd prefer. I'm flexible. ✅✅

Services

Includes individualized training programs, ongoing monitoring and support, and nutrition coaching, which will be tracked by utilizing an app which includes a variety of resources to monitor your progress and well-being. In-person training will take place at Self Made Training Facility in Hilliard, OH, by appointment.

Includes individualized training programs with a total number of up to 6 athletes being trained together. Ongoing monitoring, nutrition support, and consistent communication and feedback are core. All small group coaching will take place in-person at Self Made Training Facility in Hilliard, Ohio, by appointment.

Includes nutrition education, coaching, support, and tracking, and your goals will be monitored with the support of an app which both holds you accountable and reveals your progress. You can take progress photos within the app, as well as see stats as to how you have adhered to your program. I will maintain ongoing communication and celebrate your wins and adjust as needed to keep you moving forward.

Classes

There are a variety of themed classes for those interested in group fitness designed to specifically target weight loss (Shred & Shed), cardio (Tik Tok Cardio), and glute-focused workouts (Glute Camp) in line with current trends. Get ready to have fun while getting in challenging, but rewarding workouts that reinforce the benefits of moving your body with purpose. Afterward will be a brief cool-down meditation.
