This place is great. I've been three times now and each massage has been wonderful. They check in throughout the massage to make sure the pressure is okay and that what they're doing works for you. I came in randomly during a moment of much needed attention for my body. I had been sick for about a week and my body was hurting from all the laying in bed that I had been doing. I also was so low energy, butt totally kicked by a stomach bug. VERY SURPRISED at how amazing my massage with Nate was. Wow he is really incredible. He has just the right touch, he is super knowledgeable about the body, and has a great personality. First massage ever. I came with my girlfriend as we were celebrating our anniversary. She's been working out a lot and I can see some days take a toll on her. I'm a Marine myself and training can get drag my body down. The place itself is a nice little one, and actually very quiet considering it's off a pretty busy street. They welcomed us right away, we were sure to call ahead for 2. I got June, apparently she's been there for about 15 years. She asked me if I had any pains, how much pressure I wanted and regularly asked if I was ok. She found aches in pain in places I didn't know were there. My hour went by too fast, but she got all the kinks out. I think this may have to be a regular thing now. If you're an active person in the area i highly recommend this place. I have had quite a few massages, but this one..... takes the cake (and it wasn't even a full body massage!).  My mom and i went for just a hand/arm and foot massage (because I'm 2 weeks hysterectomy post op) for Mother's Day and we had made the decision last minute. The man who answered the phone was very kind and gladly informed me that they take walk-ins and would be waiting for us. And he was! With the door open! His family was sitting in the VERY small entry room watching a soccer game but he was very kind, showed us their services and asked us what we would like done. He then immediately showed us to our rooms which were impeccably clean and romantically lit. The massage therapists that both me and my mom got were EXTREMELY knowledgeable in reflexology and pressure points and by the time we left we felt complete relaxed and rejuvenated all at the same time. I had Jeena and my mom had Miss Bell. (Miss Bell used BioFreeze on my mom after my mom requested it and for free!!!!) Afterwards we were shown back out to the very small entry room where the soccer game was still playing and our therapists had made us hot tea and a plate of cookies and we each left with a bottle of water. I'm not sure if that is just a Mother's Day special .... but it was super nice! So a 1 hour hand/arm/foot massage, hot tea, cookies, a bottle of water, knowledgeable staff.... all of that for $40. Ya. I left a BIG tip. I will drive back. My mom lives a block away. I live an hour away. I will drive back. The end. Now go. To be my first time getting a massage this experience has been the best. I was recommended by my friend to this little gem and I'm so grateful. I decided to take my mom with me since she was having surgery the next day I wanted her to be relaxed prior to her procedure. Let me tell you we were not disappointed at all. :)Malaika is amazing and skilled massage therapist who took great care of my mother while performing deep tissue massage. She followed up after the massage with recommendations to help reduce and inflammation and pan after the first session. Genna did my combination massage and made realize I should have been taking this time to relax a long time ago. She was amazing and constantly asking if the pressure was ok and I was feeling ok. I really like this place. I am used to going to the $20 foot massages where it's so loud and crowded with rude employees. I've been to this place twice already although I have a place so close I used to walk there, I drive a few extra minutes to Tranquility Nook . The staff is so nice, and it's so quiet there I love it. It had been a while since ive gotten a massage. I work as a mail carrier and was really hurting. Thought about Tranquility since i had a good experience last time i went. Wow i say! I just moved to the neighborhood and I was completely zapped of all energy so off to Yelp I went to find a new massage place. Well I was not let down!!! I loved it here even though it's way more $$ than I used to spend in ktown I paid 80$ for 1 1/2 hr deep tissue but it really just felt like regular Thai massage. I wonder what the difference is? She used her feet for 80% of the massage. I enjoyed but next time I will just get Thai massage and save the extra 20$. Overall it was fabulous! Malaika is wonderful, June is wonderful.  They do amazing Thai massage and can really get the knots out.  Price is great!  The front reception area looks more like a cluttered living room than an actual business and the rooms themselves need some updating (newer linens and maybe some fresh paint ?) I'm not really sure how I came to walk into Tranquility Nook, but now it's part of my life. I've had lots of body work over the years, and I was lucky enough to find June. I always ask for her, she is intuitive, knowledgeable, skilled, and kind. I'm not really a fan of a Burke-Williams type experience so much, I feel all the emphasis is on bougie B.S., but the therapists are super uneven, and some are just bad, often inexperienced.  If I want a hot bath or other amenities, I go to the Korean spas. But if I need someone who can really get into where I'm stuck, what's happening with the body, and how to combat real stress, I go to June, she's very, very good. And Juan couldn't make it any easier to make an appointment, he's accessible and nice. For me, it's fantastic to have this close by my home, and the value for the price is absolutely unbeatable. Every time my friend and I have gone here, we've had the best massage. He gets a Swedish and I get Deep Tissue. We also get attached to whomever has massaged us and have tried to request them, but to no avail. However, each new massage therapist we get is just as good and seems destined to be. So my advice: SURRENDER TO WHOMEVER YOUR MASSAGE THERAPIST IS. THEY ARE ALL AMAZING. I went in with the worst sciatic nerve & knee pain and literally left a different person and was able to walk more easily. My therapist focused on the area of pain, which was so great. They don't just do a massage they are taught, but actually pay attention to your body. There's some magic going on in this place.It's definitely a 'hole in the wall' but feels sanitary and clean, it's small, cozy and has a great energy. It's the perfect place to get a massage at a reasonable price. Also, their $40.00 deal is great for those not needing a deep massage (they don't include deep tissue with this special, which is kind of a bummer, but c'est la vie.)Also, there is always parking at the Comfort Inn and a short walk to the nook. The bf wanted a massage and we found The Tranquility Nook close to our location ...thanks to our fellow yelpers.This location is the BEST on so many levels! ! My boyfriend and I love to try new massage places any time we can afford to and we came to this place thinking that it wasn't going to be as good as others we've tried. Don't get me wrong, the reviews were great but the exterior of the place is not very inviting...But boy were we wrong!!! Yes, when you walk in it feels a little tight and barely any room to move but it doesn't matter because their rooms are spacious. Now, about the true artists...the masseurs! Sandra and Malaika took care of us. They were so AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Words cannot explain how great they are and how wonderful their healing hands are. Malaika was my masseuse and she was the sweetest. She asked me what hurt and she knew exactly what to do. She didn't do the regular massage...she customized my massage and got rid of my knots!! She is just great! Sandra was my bf's masseuse. My bf is normally very picky with massages...he's a stocky guy with a typical football player body and not just any masseuse can give him a massage because they're either too hard or too soft but he absolutely loved Sandra. If my bf approves of Sandra, then that means she was very good. Look...if you're still doubting it, do yourself a favor, STOP what you're doing and go get a massage by either of them. I am so happy I found this place! Malaika was excellent, her technique is far above average for a 50$ massage and anyone would be lucky to get her. She is friendly and personable and it was very easy to explain to her what areas I needed more or less pressure on. I did the Swedish massage and she used her hands the whole time, I've had other masseuses at spas in this price range overuse their elbows which to me never feels as good.  She is also extremely strong and I got the feeling that if I asked her to go even harder she would definitely not have a problem with it :) thanks so much Malaika, I will definitely come back soon!! My husband and I came here on a whim. We wanted to treat ourselves after a busy five days of getting to know LA and boy are we glad we did. We had June and malaika. We chose the combination hour long massage mixing Thai and Swedish techniques. The girls pinpointed our problem areas and gave them extra love. When she started working on my shoulders and neck she asked "do you get headaches?" Which I had been suffering from for the last 6 months. She told me it was coming from this area. She certainly dug in (with my consent of course) to break up the knots. We were both warned that we were going to feel bad before we felt better. And boy were they right. We were both so worn out after these massages in the best way possible. Wonderful Thai massage.  Annie worked every tense part of my body thoroughly.  I feel my muscles melting.  She was able to get at problems that I've been ignoring for awhile. I just experienced THE BEST massage of my life! No joke! I get massages quite often. Sometimes for relaxation, mostly for pain management and all the sucky knots I get from constantly being on my phone and computer. Tonight I needed a deep tissue, muscle loosening, knot releasing massage. Malaika worked on me like a man three times as big and strong as she looks. She's tiny, but mighty. Massage by Malaika. SO good! $50 combo Swedish and Thai. Wanted $35 Thai but they expertly pointed me toward a combo because Thai can be too intense. She was right. Ended up doing mostly Swedish because any Thai she did was too much for me! I use to go to massage sessions for long time. I understand most of techniques such as regular Europen (swedish), Aurvedic and Eastern types. I am very satisfied with Annie massage quality at Nook Thai massage as she demonstrates good knowledge of Eastern medical treatments for body. This place was very good! I came for the $35 1-hour Thai massage which I have never had before and it was definitely a great experience. I didn't realize that this type of massage is done mostly with the feet meaning that the masseuse will walk on your back pretty much. The pressure was perfect and the masseuse also helped me stretched, this massage was like a massage and physical therapy one.  I don't know how much it will be next time I come however, at $35 one can't resist but to give place a chance. I just had an amazing Thai/Swedish combo massage with Malaika. She had an uncanny ability to sense where my body was tight and worked out the knots and kinks like magic! I left feeling rejuvenated and pain-free. I totally recommend this place: it's in a quaint stand-alone building with tropical fish in the lobby and simple and inviting aesthetics in the massage "nooks." They are the absolute best! I have been to numerous massage places around Asia and all over Glendale and they are really the best. I have had carpal tunnel pains and June (my masseur)  immediately knew what target areas to focus on and the right amount of pressure. By the end of the massage my body felt light as a feather. I highly recommend this massage place! There are so many places in Eagle Rock, but overall I have had the best experience at Tranquility Nook. I have been going for about 2 years and Malika is just wonderful! Being a photographer my neck/back really get bad, and she helps me with that very much. Its very affordable, and the spot is private and well...tranquil! The parking is just fine, because you can park at the comfort inn now. I prefer the combination massage for at least an hour.
