What an amazing discovery! Tough Cookie is a hip, yet cozy spot to have delicious baked goods and satisfying tea/coffee. I just experienced their homemade chai tea. It was terrific. Next to their brown rice flour brownie, I was in tea-bliss. This is my favorite hang out in Bastrop! More...

Everything I've had at Tough Cookie is delicious! I'm always blown away by the quality of the food and calm atmosphere. It's a place I feel welcome with my kids (which is hard to find), as they have a great play area. A few of my favorites: avocado mash, pretzel brat (this pretzel bread is the best I've had), raspberry oatmeal bars, whole wheat brownies, and the peanut African stew. If you're into unique yet comforting food, drinking out of mason jars, and friendly folks, this is your place! More...

Wow... Wish I’d checked this place out sooner! Had dessert here tonight. Homemade dark chocolate ice cream. Super decadent and wonderful. Also snagged an Oh e Oh homemade cookie. Also very good. I also didn’t know they served breakfast and lunch/dinner as well. They have several thing on the menu that I can’t wait to try. Will definitely be back! More...

Tried the African Peanut stew at The Empty Bowl Benefit today. Very good, not how I imagined it. Can’t wait to come in and have more for lunch some day.

These are wonderful people with an incredible place. The cookies are a dream and I love Chris's skill at making coffee. He put a Ghirardelli caramel chocolate in a perfect cup of coffee. I've got a new place to visit when we come through Bastrop now. Thanks for everything! More...

I love it when I’m off and Chris is pulling hot cinnamon rolls out of the oven in Sunday morning! It’s my favorite thing to have with coffee... lots of coffee.

Moving from Austin to Cedar Creek as a Vegan seemed daunting. I literally slammed on my brakes when I saw the sign for Vegan bakery in Bastrop. I fell instantly in love. Fells like I'm out visiting old friends when I come in. The food is mega delicious and you can't beat the atmosphere and friendly faces. More...

The MayBLT is the best sandwich in town. I also regularly get the breakfast biscuit with egg (add avocado mash and tofu beacon) served open face.

This place is an amazing gem hidden away in Bastrop’s waterfront retail shops. Don’t be fooled by the outside: once inside you’ll find that it’s much larger than it appears! They have merchandise for sale by the front door, a counter with baked goods displayed and a register for ordering, a couch and chairs for lounging, 5 -7 tables for eating, and the perfect pint-sized kids’ nook for entertaining little ones with toys. We had the homemade ice cream, some cookies, and a scone, and they were all delicious. The service was also friendly and fast. We will definitely be back!!! More...

The most kind, talented, strong, and wonderful people own it. I would go back just to chat with them. Their food is out of this world delicious. My boyfriend and I are on a cross country trip and this is, by far, the best food we have had! My favorites are the cinnamon buns and the pretzel bread. A must try for sure! More...
