I came here for the very first time this week for an after work happy hour. The ambience is really nice and the bartenders were great. Topsys is a fun neighborhood bar. It's an unassuming bar with tasty cocktails. I walked in tonight and ordered the "Old Flame" which is basically the love child of an Old Fashioned and a Sazerac. Great little twist to a classic cocktail and perfect for the holidays. Love how they set it on fire with the Absinthe spray! The bartenders are very attentive and funny. My gf and I randomly saw topsy and had no idea what to expect. Ali Reza was the bar tender for the night and I told him to make me any drink and he made me this delicious cardamon/cucumber cocktail- i was in love and shocked how he was able to not only customize a drink so fast but make it one of my favorite too. I was in the neighborhood looking for a place for a couple beers and a bite. I heard the live music from outside (including Santana and Gypsy Kings covers) and decided to come in. I had a couple beers and a carnitas taco. The taco was light and fresh (better for a bar experience than the heavy, greasy tacos I normally prefer). Service was friendly and attentive. My favorite post-work-need-a-drink-on-a-Monday place. Angela and Daniel are my favorite bartenders in Fidi. They are both super friendly and make great cocktails. Tough day? Topsys. Got a raise? Came to Topsy's on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday bar hopping. We arrived at 8:30ish so it wasn't too busy yet. We were able to grab a couple tables in the back with our group of ~10 people . This bar is kind of low-key (but not divey). It had a quirky vibe with all the circus/carnival decorations around -- look up at their ceiling! I appreciate that they serve reasonably priced drinks in the FiDi area. If you like martinis and fruit drinks, get the LYCHEE MARTINI and STRAWBERRY BASIL MARTINi. They're both shaken well with tasty fruit based. More importantly, the drinks are also strong. They have pretty nice outdoor seating, really nice servers, and pretty good happy hour deals because they have extended hours (until 7pm). I usually tend to get off work around 5:30-6, and miss the regular happy hour time. But we were happy that they have it until 7pm. Not only that, their cocktail options were also more interesting than most bars. They have lychee martini for $9! (Finally!) I've been trying to find places that sell it but barely find anything. Unfortunately though, the drink seems to be watery and weak, so I reduced one star for that. Apart from the weak cocktails, they also provide good deal for happy hour tacos! Its $3 for one, they have chicken and carnitas (pork), and they tasted amazing! I loved it. Overall experience was really nice. Strategic location and good drinks accompanied with good peeps. Absolutely great! COME DURING HAPPY HOUR. Happy hour is during 2-7 pm. I came after work and it was absolutely great. If you come and post a review you get a free app. Cheap drinks and a free app... why not?!? Best service ever from Daniel and he was great. Seemed like he genuinely cared about our day. Super nice. The food here was great. Tuesday's are Taco Tuesday's. $3 Tacos and cheap margaritas. WHY NOT COME. Great Vibe all around and trust me I'm normally a hard critic. Walked in around 4:00pm, fairly empty but filled up quickly. Monday is all day happy hour! Drinks were finely crafted and light on sugar (they ask before they make the drink), and the service was tops. My bartender, Angela, made the experience extremely enjoyable and never let my drink (or my water) go dry. The cucumber gimlet is well-crafted, nice and balanced and super tasty. You'll want another (dangerous!).The food looked extremely good and a couple came in exclusively for food, so that could be something to come back for. Apparently there is a large football viewing following here, they have a projector for some of the bigger games.All in all, definitely will be coming back for an after-work libation. Highly recommend this bar! Ambience, decor, bartender, DRANKSSSSSSS ALL ON POINT. If you are looking for a cool and chill bar definitely check this place out and ask for Ali. Amazing bartender which created the drink in the pictures Thirsty First. I'm a huge and picky whiskey drinker, this definitely takes the win for whisky drink in San Francisco. Topsy's is a dive bar with amazing beers! It's an easy walk from the downtown and so a little walk away was the bar. We had the Bock. We had the Lager. We had the IPA. We had 2 different beers. The Bock had a very sweet, bitter taste. The Lager had a very dry, bitter taste. I had the IPA and I enjoyed it. I thought it was very sweet and refreshing. This is a very nice dive bar to visit if you're looking for great ambiance, vibes and nice drinks! I visited here on a Monday during their all night Happy Hour. Business was a little slow, but it was a Monday night. The staff was very friendly , the drinks were great and it is nestled in a nice little area of town. An ideal spot for after-work drinks. There's an all day happy hour on Mondays with great prices on cocktails, wine, beer and appetizers. A server approached us just as we were ready to order. We got the house sauvignon blanc (citrus-forward) and the paloma which was well-mixed, but not too strong! We snacked on the bruschetta and potato pizza, which was just enough for 2 people. Girls night was originally planned for Pagan Idol (an a sucker for the tiki) but when 3pm rolled around and the ladies wanted to know if there was food and there wasn't, it became clear we might need to change venue. In steps Topsy's with a simple yet tasty looking bar food menu, fresh drinks and a circus theme that isn't messy. Funnily enough I walked in and remembered "oh I've been here after work happy hour" and was convinced the right call had been made.I do love a good theme bar and Future Bars does them well. Who doesn't love a Dive Bar, especially a memorable one with great drinks? Topsy's Fun House came up on Yelp search with a "Happy Hour All Day Monday", which is my favorite thing to learn about a dive bar on a Monday :)We only had to walk about 8 blocks and found ourselves in a low-lit bistro with a long bar, mixed seating and the characteristic door standing open to let the temperate San Francisco breeze blow through. An eclectic crowd of old and young filled the room, all of whom had that San Fran underground vibe that makes places like this what they are. We ordered a Focaccia app and several drinks: Peach Perfect, Cucumber Gimlet, Lychee Martini, and 1921 Honey. All were quite good, flavorful and punchy. The Focaccia was exceptionally good, the tomatoes tasting as if they had been soaked in a balsamic mixture. The flavor was more robust than I've had before.The playlist was 90's rock & hip hip which was my GF's high school soundtrack. So, she was luvvving it.
