I drove all the way from downtown to work with Pat Dolan at Toms Price. She listened very closely to what type of furniture I was looking for and then did her magic and found it for me. She helped me think out of the box and found the perfect solution for a sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman for my home. We didn't find everything immediately, but Pat was persistent. Pat made a trip downtown to see my space so she understood exactly what size furniture I would need.She called me when she had personally tried out the new chairs that came into the store and thought she found what I wanted. Barbara Parker, rug manager of the Old Orchard location, was with us from start to finish.  We started with someone else.  They didn't seem to want to help us explore more choices .  Barbara stuck with us as we kicked all the tires.  Barbara Parker, was immensely patient and knowledgeable, She was able to help us figure out what we wanted.  I never knew how complicated stair carpeting could be.  I have 100% confidence in her ability and she was a pleasure to work with. For the past couple of months, I have been working with designer Jody Bailey (Wheaton store) to update my living space. Jody has helped me with paint colors (and she recommended an excellent painter), fabric to recover my dining room chairs, and carpet selection for my dining room and a guest room. She has even made a couple of house visits to get a better idea of what I have to work with and how best to accomplish my goal within my budget. She has made numerous suggestions -- from placing pictures to hanging curtain rods. She has a keen eye for color and design, and she gave me many options from which to choose. Toms Price is my favorite furniture store because they have a great selection and enough space to show their wares in a setting much like you would find in a home. All of their sales people also are designers, and I avail myself of their services whenever I shop there. The worst thing I could do would be to spend a lot of money on furniture and have a room that looks like it was furnished at a garage sale. Their designers kept me from wandering too far off course and now I have a room that is cohesive, inviting and beautiful. More...

As a builder of fine custom homes, I've worked with a number of furniture stores and a variety of interior decorators. Never have I experienced the combination of artistry and commitment that were delivered by Scott Price and Kathleen Peacock on an absolutely stunning home we worked on together over the past year. When I speak of commitment, I'm talking about these two working into the wee hours setting up beds, hanging draperies, and selecting the perfect combination of pieces to tie what could have been an eclectic mess into nothing short of pure magic. I bought my dinning set here and I am so happy, is good quality and Pat was great helping us choosing the upholstery for our chairs. I know is a bit pricey but worth it. LOVE my interior designer, Anne! This furniture store has a great selection of items on the sales floor but what impressed me the most was the store manager Helen and especially my designer, Anne, who has been extremely helpful in working with me on finding my bedroom and living room furniture. Anne has no agenda. She will suggest pieces and let you pick. She will guide you through questions you may have on why this will work or why it will not work. She will give you many options and give you her opinion. Picking out a sofa and loveseat and building it from scratch was nerve wrecking but Anne made the process enjoyable spending hours with me on just trying to pick the fabric. I am an Interior Designer and am working on a project of new furniture and reupholstering some current pieces in the next room. I've already shopped a lot for fabrics and my clients are not really feeling it yet. So, today, when I stopped in to return the old fabrics and start anew, I was pleasantly surprised with Cynthia Vosnos. I was busy looking, and she was being very helpful with ideas for using the various fabrics I chose. "Wrap the chair in this, contrast it with this color and use a contrast welt". Nice!!  She said it was like play for her. I recommend you ask for Cynthia Vosnos at the Toms-Price in South Barrington. We just had our first experience at Toms Price with a custom sectional. We worked with Pat Dolan and what a great process and service. Specifically, Pat was:+ professional+ not pushy+ timely but didn't rush us either + provided direct guidance and opinions on colors, price points + came to our house to help with the colors + followed up to make sure all was taken care of + took charge of providing some fabric samples without just telling me to do it solo I would recommend anyone going to Toms-Price to ask for Pat Dolan! My wife and I were looking around for a while searching for a rug. Eventually we went to Toms-Price as it was not far from our favorite  restaurant at Old Orchard. In the rug department Barbara, the sales associate, helped us in choosing the right rug, without pressure but with a lot of competence. Eventually we bought the right rug at a reasonable price. For sure Barbara made a difference in  our decision.Then we went to the bed and mattresses department and another sales associate, Laura LaPorte, was very helpful in giving us suggestions and practical information about their products. Where do I begin... 5 months of driving to furniture stores Macy's, Carson's, Smithe, Crest, same tables same song and dance. We drove out to actually look at Carson's in Edens plaza and as we were leaving the salesman suggested Toms Price. So glad we listened! Walked in and was greeted right away and directed upstairs where Kathy Piazza introduced herself and brought us to every round table she had. But what impressed me was her knowledge of what we wanted not what she wanted to sell. She patiently listened to us about the nightmare of redoing our kitchen and could tell I was stressed out. Kathy gave informative insight to help us figure out what we truly wanted. She knows every piece, woods, stains,  metals, everything about all the tables you can think of. Most of all she worked with us and gave us such personal attention and no pressure I truly appreciated that. The quality of furniture here is exactly what I'm looking for. If you're looking for inexpensive this isn't the place but if you do the math and think about the workmanship and quality you're already ahead. We recently bought an older home with a lot of character and wanted new furniture to accentuate the character and upgrade from what we had in our previous home. We have worked with Kathleen Newhouse and Toms Price over the past few months picking different items. I cannot say enough good things about them both! Kathleen fit a home visit in very quickly after meeting her at the store. Within the same day and week she was sending us different ideas. Because we had just purchased the home we had a budget we needed to be mindful of. Kathleen really worked with us to get the best pieces and to meet the style that we had a hard time conveying (my husband and I had different ideas). She went above and beyond thinking of us at different shows she would go to and giving us a lot of ideas. Toms Price had some great promotions that made the furniture more than reasonable! I am not sure we could have gotten a better deal for the quality elsewhere. We finally got the majority of our items in yesterday and it turned out great! I wish she could have seen our excitement when we got home. Kathleen was so nice to meet the delivery truck as we were not able to be there during the week and she knew how anxious we were to get our items home. We still have many more things to get done in the home and Kathleen will always be our go to in determining what to buy. More...

So, for the last couple of years I've been thinking that the word "high" fell out of the middle of the "Toms-Price" name. It's always been a pleasant place to shop, great displays, excellent service ... just kind of expensive.After shopping around (for those that see me check in.. The Dump, Penny Mustards, Carson's, Walter E Smithe etc..) I just spent a bundle here.We've bought furniture at many different places and price points. From experience.. quality matters.We stopped in on our way home from the gym.. trying to distract ourselves from being hungry for lunch at 11 am. Just killing time, we're building an addition to the house and will have a new family room to fill... but we've got a little time before "need" kicks in.So Toms-Price is having sale.. we find a couple of sofa's, sectionals and chairs that we like, and the prices are starting to look more competitive... Jean Slott, Interior Designer at Toms-Price works up a floor plan on the computer for us and shows us how the furniture will sit.Turn's out there's a floor sample sale about to begin.. Jean gets prices for us and suddenly.. we've purchased a Stickley sectional, 40" round leather top ottoman and a leather chair...That was quick.. good job Jean!The furniture is being held for us until the room is ready, but we are very happy with our purchases and Jean was excellent at helping us figure things out. Our designer, Laura Laporte, went above and beyond to find us the pieces we needed. Kathy P. made choosing\buying furniture about as pleasant as it gets. We first went to Toms-Price for a bedroom set and Kathy helped us find a beautiful set we were able to afford. That was a year ago. We have moved on to the living room and Kathy spent the better part of an afternoon patiently helping us. We do not often buy furniture - it has been close to 20 years since our last sofa purchase - but now that the kids and cats are gone, it is time. Kathy knows the inventory well and knows what questions you should be asking even if you don't. She worked with us on every aspect of both these purchases, and really took the stress out of both procedures. I am almost sorry we don't have more major furniture purchases in our future. Our experience was probably not run of the mill.  I had researched a table online, emailed a salesperson ahead of time regarding price and dimensions so we literally walked in and placed an order.  However, all the people we encountered were polite and our sales person was very nice although we really didn't spend that much time in the store.  She checked on some table finishes for us and made a recommendation based on some questions I asked.  All in all the purchase was quick and pleasant.  Hopefully the table will be a perfect fit when it's delivered. My husband and I used our Amazon Local voucher to purchase a rug at Toms Price recently. There were many rugs that were way outside our budget but Barbara (in the rug department) was super helpful in finding the right rug at the right cost. She searched many different piles on our behalf! Even though we felt bad changing our mind several times, she was very patient and very customer focused. Laura LaPorte helped us select a dining room set that just arrived and looks absolutely gorgeous!  She is truly an expert -- focused on making sure we were happy and comfortable with our purchase.  We had visited four other stores before Toms-Price, and they all had nice dining room tables.  But I went with Toms-Price because of Laura's low-key sales approach.  She was helpful, but not pushy. She never urged me to buy anything but served as a helpful resource.  She visited our home, made a floor plan and had great recommendations for our space.  When we didn't like the china cabinet that was offered by the company that made the dining table we selected, she researched and recommended one made by another company.  She then went out of her way to ensure that china cabinet matched the table we ordered.  She was conscientious, knowledgeable and resourceful.In summary:  Go to Toms-Price in Skokie and ask for Laura LaPorte.  You will be very happy! I just got three beautiful new rugs from Toms Price at Old Orchard. Barbara in the rug department was really patient with my indecisiveness, and researched various rug manufacturers to find me exactly what I wanted. She kept in contact with me through  email, but was never pushy. A substantial Toms Price coupon became available on-line, and Barb made sure that I got the $300 savings. Toms-Price Home Furnishings is a very fine establishment, but certainly is not a Walter E. Smithe or a Ethan Allen. I went there about a year ago to look for a kitchen table (Nichols and Stone) and this was a very custom and expensive piece of furniture. Yet, we still got 50% off on the table and it was likewise for the chair set. I ordered a round Nichols and Stone table with two tone stain and black paint. This was a great choice. The reason I reduced one star for Tom's Price Home is because the first month the table was delivered one part of it scratched and chipped off the stain/lacquer. None the less, this is fixable and was not the end of the world. I had a very different, quirky woman to work with as a designer, would not say she was the best.... she always agreed to everything I said which was a bit annoying.Overall, Tom's Price is a success story. A few years ago I purchased a few pieces at Toms-Price at the start of a very large remodeling job. The pieces were all on sale, good prices, very nice design and quality, the sales person was very nice. The bigger story is their incredible service and unique, stellar craftsmanship of their furniture repair staff, particularly Jeff Claver. When our large mirror arrived it had a tag taped to the painted frame that marred the surface. Toms-Price quickly responded that they could fix the frame and sent Jeff on a Saturday afternoon when it was convenient for us. The repair was complex and very specific becasue it had both silver leaf and bronze leaf that had to be replaced. Not only did Jeff do an outstanding job, he found smaller knicks and patched those up. A year later we needed them back when we had drilled holes into two cabinets to place a shelf between the two. It did not look right. Though they had not damaged the furniture they agreed to come out and, for a very reasonable fee, repair the holes and fill in the woodgrain finish. I anticipated the work would be completed to the best of the ability given the extent of damage. When Jeff finished the work I could not believe my eyes. Absolutely no indication that there was ever any drilling done to this wood. And there were 8 holes on each cabinet. I am still amazed and have had a few days to view it under different light. The repair work is seamless. I commented to my husband that it  must be wonderful to go through life with that amount of refined skill. Jeff can be compared to both a skilled surgeon and a fine artist. I'm wowed. Toms-Price certainly lives up, and exceeds, the standards of a fine furnishings retailer. I highly recommend them. Working for this family owned business was one of the best employment experiences I have ever had.  After I moved careers I became a customer.  Every time I have purchased furniture I have had the best experience from the support in selecting my purchase, to the follow up giving me heads up that my order production status to the wonderful delivery personnel.  One of the hidden benefits of purchasing furniture at Toms-Price is that their sales people are also highly trained designers who can save you money by helping you avoid classic furniture mistakes that in the end cost more than buying right the first time. Toms Price is simply the best fine furniture store in the western suburbs. The selection is outstanding with top brands and elegant, high quality collections. The store is large, the designers and associates are ready and willing to answer questions and help you select furnishings and rugs for your entire home or a single room.

The prices are very fair for the quality of the furniture and the once a year floor sample sale is not to be missed. The Bloomingdale outlet offers some great bargains.
