We were looking for a local team to stain & seal a redwood deck and staircase in our backyard in the Inner Sunset - a really foggy area where the moisture can turn your deck into a mess! Â I got 3 quotes, 2 from Nextdoor references and 1 from Marilton of "Tom's Painters" who I found on Yelp! Marilton was extremely prompt, showing up the next day to give us a competitive quote. His price was significantly lower than the other professional painters we got quotes from. His crew was amazing - friendly, clean, efficient, and skilled (they were also extremely friendly and kind to our toddler!) They carefully covered all of our plants, and masked off any surrounding wood to prevent collateral damage. The deck started looking better already after the first day of power-washing. Marilton carefully watched the weather, and brought his crew back when the deck was dry under warm sun to do the staining. It now looks beautiful - well worth the reasonable price! Restored to its natural redwood beauty and protected from the elements! We will definitely call Marilton again in 2 years when we are ready for the next coat, or another painting job. More...

Let me add my voice to the chorus. Â Everything was professionally done, with good quality, and all members of Tom's team were courteous and friendly. Â They won my project because 1) their bid was extremely reasonable, 2) their reviews are so good, and 3) at each step they did what they said they would, and were ethical about dealing with the inevitable small surprises. Â Maria was running a bit late for the initial appointment, but let me know in advance that she was delayed. The job ended up taking 2 days rather than the 1 day they had planned on (for no fault of theirs) but they never considered increasing their fee. Â I am very happy, both with the results and with the experience. Maria and Tom were prompt, thorough communicators and Rafael the painter was terrific - if we agreed on 9:30, he'd be there at 9:29; the job took a day longer than expected, which happens with this kind of work, but there were no additional charges for the extra day's work. Victor, Rafael, and Maria were great to work with. Maria was helpful in answering all of our questions and kept us up to date on progress throughout the project. We had our cabinets painted from varnished pine to white, and it looks like we have a whole new kitchen. Victor and Rafael also changed out our cabinet hardware and were able to switch a few of the doors from pulls to knobs at our request. Coverage and smoothness on all of the surfaces is excellent. Excellent experience, from Maria's estimate to Victor and Victor getting the job taken care of. We had water damage to a wall from a roof leak and needed a section of drywall repaired and the wall repainted. Â Maria was very prompt in getting us an estimate, which was very reasonable. We had Tom, Maria and their crew paint our SF home in June. They did a great job of preparing the house and painting even in extreme fog and extreme heat in the same two-week span. The painters were great communicators and made sure that we knew what was happening and how the project was coming along on a daily basis.
