We drive down from Detroit to meet with family. This restaurant has a very unique menu supporting local suppliers. We enjoy the atmosphere, the service, the artwork and ESPECIALLY THE FOOD. I especially enjoy Ricco Diamante's painting titled Unity. My parents were immigrants and this painting talks to me about what America is. This creates a beautiful environment for me to enjoy a great meal. I am not sure if the artists would allow the restaurant owners to post pictures of some of the artwork on their website but the restaurant would make a nice Gallery also. More...

I stopped in for brunch and sat at the bar. I had already looked at the menu online so I had an idea of what I wanted so I asked the bartender what he thought about the shrimp and grits and explained to him I don’t really like grits. He then stated they are cauliflower based and so I was sold after that. After about 15 mins my food was being brought out. The cauliflower base def made me a grits fan and the shrimp and eggs with the homemade hot sauce were a great combination as well. I will definitely be back to try other menu items. More...

Definitely a bit pricey for a random weekend dinner (for me) but I've celebrated birthday's here and have always partook in their Taste of the Fort event when they're on the list and it's always, hands down, amazing. The artwork they display is great, the food is great, the service is great--every time I've gone the staff are friendly and talkative (in a good, not overbearing way) and even the other guests at the restaurant have chatted my family up when gushing about a dessert or what they ordered. This was our first time eating at the actual restaurant instead of the food truck. It did not disappoint! Our waitress Robin was sporting her Halloween face paint and was very attentive. We started our meal with bone marrow and French onion soup. It was our first time experiencing bone marrow and it was fantastic. The first bite of french onion soup swarmed me with warm memories of gathering together at the Thanksgiving table. It was such a warm and comforting soup, I would highly reccomend. For our entrees we had the ribeye and gouda cheeseburger with bacon jam. Both entrees were superb and the duck fat fries were delicious. I had the warm night in as my drink of choice and the flavors made me feel like I was sitting in front of a fireplace with a cozy sweater on snuggling my love on a cold winter's night. We finished our evening with a slice of hazelnut cheesecake and french pressed coffee. Both items were very impressive. I would highly reccomend Tolon and love that the menu is always changing. The farm to table experience is one that everyone needs to try. I cant wait until we return and take our tastebuds on another sensational ride of flavors. More...

This place is absolutely fantastic! I travel for work and in every US locale, in which I work, I seek out the local farm to table restaurant, if there is one. Well, while in Fort Wayne my colleague and I found Tolon. What a find! Warm inviting atmosphere, cozy decor, fantastic people and incredible( I do mean incredible) food. Our server was Randall and what a great ambassador he is for Tolon. He took the time to explore the menu with us, making some recomendations and telling us a little about Tolon. Every bite was phenomenal. The deliciousness coming out of this kitchen is something to behold! A must try for anyone who enjoys healthy, fresh, and flavorful food. Kudos to everyone at Tolon. Bring your appetite! There is an amazing assortment of local farm to table selections available that changes every 3 months to take advantage of the seasonal availability of fresh ingredients. Save some room for dessert too! Staff is very helpful explaining the unique nuances of the menu options. Table options inside and outside are both appealing depending on the weather. Fun and comfortable atmosphere. Had a hamburger- delicious and salad-inventive and delightful. We ordered the freshly prepared pork rinds and they were a hit with most of our group, but it's just not my thing. Loved the idea of walking to a live show around the corner. We just made our first visit on 9/7/19. I had heard SO many great things about this place, so my wife and I thought we would try it. Let me start by saying ALL the employees were AWESOME. So kind and helpful. Atmosphere was nice as well. If i had to rate it on just that stuff...5 stars all the way...but when it came to the food...it was a different story. Now, I'm not big on bashing places at all and I'm not going to do it here. I'm taking the avenue that it just wasn't our "cup of tea". We had the duck fries to start...and they were VERY GOOD! The sauce...eh...ok...but wasn't to our liking as much as I thought it would be. My wife and I both had the cheeseburger...and like previous reviews...watch out for the "bacon jam"...the smoky flavor is VERY HEAVY and distinct. Once we removed it...the burger was pretty good. But like I previously mentioned...some people may love it...we just didn't, and that's ok! I had the BBQ chips with it and they were average...my wife had the glazed carrots and she didn't care for them...she expected more after the waitress recommended them so highly. We finished with the blackberry shortcake...and this was VERY GOOD...very fresh and the glaze was almost perfect.My wife had a long island ice tea and thought it was average, while I just drank water.The bill was $75 before tip.In conclusion...I'm sure some people will really like this place...I mean look at their rating...good for them...and thank you for the great employees. Just make sure you ask ALOT of questions about the food before you order...so you know what you are getting into would be my suggestion. (In fact, as we were being seated, the table next to us was complaining to the manager about their cheeseburger as well...their exact comment was "it just wasn't what I thought it would be"...which is a GREAT way to put it!) We stopped here for the first time when we were on our way to a concert at Foellinger. It was a little tough to find a place to park when we got there as it seems the whole street and surrounding area is under construction and there were fences up everywhere. Food was very good. There was some confusion on reservations as we initially called to reserve a table but no one answered. We decided to just go there. When we got there we were asked if we had reservations. No online reservation app. A bit confused but they still sat us. Drinks good. Good atmosphere. Did not see any other family with kids. Seemed to be adults only, maybe because of price food. For a family of four we spent 175 dollars including tip. The host seemed stone faced the whole time. Cooks seemed kinda the same.
