What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
First is asking client , once your hired, the type of music would be a hit with their guest. Once at the event, you must look around and see who your audience is. If your djing for mostly 16 year olds, more than likely youll need to play a majority of Hip Hop music compared if the crowd is of an older age. Also, changing up the music when you see guest getting tired of dancing a particular type.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Well, my expertise are weddings so for the first hour or so I like to play love songs that have a nice rhythm to them but are not yet meant for dancing. Then ill start the party with a hit song that I know will make the guest get up and dance. Once on the dance floor, I keep the songs playing between 2 and 3 minutes and smoothly mix into the next song to keep the party going.
What do you love most about your job?
I believe any dj that enters this filed is because they love all types of music.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I didn't mean to start my own djing business. I bought the equipment to dj my immediate family's parties. From there, guest at the parties would like the way I played music and would ask me to dj their event. It just kinda snowballed where every weekend I was djing a party for someone. I decided to get more serious with it and learn my craft and business side of it. I meet other djs that help become a better dj. Its still a continuing learning process that will never end
