If you don't have a running household debate about which local pizza place is best, you're not living right :) Tino's is my pick. I'm really glad they added some additional pizza sizes and delivery too. We just tried their thin crust and it was a hit at our house. Ordered online and picked up dinner on 7/15/2019. I have eaten inside, ordered online and just ordered at the drive through many times over the years. I am surprised I have not rated them yet.I think Italian is overdone everywhere and so often, I just don't ever think about it. Every social gathering, every company event, family meals, etc. I am just tired of it ... except, honestly, Tino's, and it is worth the drive because I am just outside their delivery area. Tonight my power went out in a bad storm, so my wife sent me out in the deluge to get dinner. We both agreed on Tino's.Their pizza by the splice is huge and really good, and sandwiches fabulous. I normally default to the Italian Meatball Panini because it is so good, but tonight I decided to try the Italiano Panini. Flavorful and somewhat spicy. Outstanding. Came with a totally unnecessary dipping sauce that was so flavorful, I kept dipping anyway. Upgraded to a small side garden salad. Very good as well.Spouse got pasta something instead of pizza. Said it was really good.Online experience is top notch. Great menu selection and ordering. It said ready in 15 minutes, but was ready in under 10 by the time I got there. First time visiting Tino's and didn't know quite what to expect. Upon entering, the place seemed smaller than what it appeared from the outside. Although it was clean, it was somewhat cluttered. The menu options make it difficult to choose, ranging from several hot dog variations to paninis, calzones, pastas and pizza. Two of us split a Caesar Salad and we each ordered a panini(meatball for her and combo Italian beef/Italian sausage for me. You order at the counter and your food it delivered to your table I must say in a very timely manner. The salad was good and the sandwiches were insanely delicious. Neither one of us could finish our paninis and we each took half home. I have to say the staff was friendly, cheerful and helpful especially for us first timers. We did notice that Tino's seemed to do a huge takeout business and they have the convenience of a drive thru. Everyone has to have a favorite drop in pick up or dine in quick Pizza joint and this is our's. We are living temporarily in Deephaven and this is 2 miles away. The staff headed by big mike aims to please and you know that most of the hard workers are going to school up the street with your kids so - it's great. We order half pep half sausage with green olives, sometime wings, sometimes soup, sometime salad. It's all good. If you eat in there is a limited beer and wine list. A great pizza option if you're in a hurry. They have a drive thru so you don't even need to get out of your car. The service is always great and very welcoming. I'd definitely recommend it if you are in the Excelsior/Minnetonka area. Oh, and did I mention they have much more than pizza. You should also check out there other Italian options. Tino's is close to my house and super convenient. They have REALLY good pizza, that's all I've ever gotten there. The pizzas are cheesy, chewy and huge. One of my few complaints is that most of the toppings are mainly in the center of the pizza, I would appreciate them being spread more towards the crust but that's just me- oh, and a touch more sauce maybe? I don't think I'm in their delivery area, they couldn't find my address last time so... that's a huge bummer, because I'm not far, at all. We went there for the first time today and loved it! The 2 guys working there were very friendly and brought our food out within 5 minutes. No other pizza place was willing to accommodate 25-30 people with an hours notice. We brought our entire team here between games. Not only did they accommodate us, they brought in extra staff and were more than ready with food and drinks. Mike (the owner) came outside and played ball with some of the team and was willing to pose for a pic with the team. Great food and a great personal touch!! I've eaten at Tinos numerous times and have always liked the food. Pizza, calzones, and pasta are always good but tonight I had the Italian beef sandwich. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The bread, Au jus, beef, and Giardiniera were better than portillos. I don't normally post but felt compelled to after eating that sandwich tonight.The restaurant is smaller but the food literally comes out in less than 10 mins, even at the busiest times so if there's a wait for a table, it's fairly quick. Food, staff, atmosphere...all most certainly deserve 5 stars. I haven't had their pizza in awhile but while it looked and smelled delicious, on my most recent visit, we split a Turkey Pesto Panini and Veggie Salad. It was the perfect amount for two people to split for lunch. At first, we thought that there was too much bread but it is so soft and is not as much as it appears. Plus, it is an herb ciabetta so really adds to the flavor of the delicious sandwich. The salad is also quite good, and served with warm and toasty garlic bread. Tino's is a cute and small establishment with everything clean and organized. A few spots to sit outdoors too. There are daily specials, so make sure to check those out before ordering up at the counter. They are now under new management, and everyone seems very friendly and genuinely enjoys being there. If they don't already, they will soon have their liquor license, where they will have a few beers and wines available (with local options, like from Excelsior Brewery). Overall, it is a great option to come in and take a slice or meal to-go or dine-in. There is a TV in the front if there is a game or event worth watching. Delivery is possible within three miles of the restaurant. They also support local high school and donate locally, which I hope they continue to do. The nerve of these people! I moved into the neighborhood and this place looked alright, so I called and ordered a pizza. They said 10-15 minutes. So I get there in 9 minutes, and what do you know? The guy at the counter is super friendly and his coworker is pulling my pizza right out of the oven. How am I supposed to take in the atmosphere with such a short wait time?! But I won't stand for that, so I took a good look around anyway and, well, you know those little boutique pizza places you see on travel shows? You say "oh hur de dur, I wish we had something like that." Well turn off your TV stupid, this is it. The price is pretty reasonable. It's not domino's cheap, but then again manila envelopes and ketchup are cheap. So, great atmosphere, friendly staff, decent prices, this pizza is going to suck right? NO! It's one of the best damn pizzas we've ever had! And yes I am counting multiple trips to New York and Italy. So what really erks me about Tino's? Well, I'm within walking distance, and I can't afford to eat there every day. I have since purchased some personal budget software, and I am now going to try and figure out a way to.
