I will definitely cater with Tina's again. We have never had Cuban food catered to our office lunch and everything was WONDERFUL. The presentation was very clean, delivered on time and they gave vegetarian options that even my meat lover's enjoyed. Vegetarian stew with lentils is a must! The shredded beef was tender, mango chicken was juicy, rice and beans was flavorful and I loved the plantains. Thank you Tina's I will have to try your filipino dishes next time. More...

Wow. I'm not a fan of Cuban food and was debating staying home from work that day so I didn't have to eat it. Boy am I glad I went in. Everything was good. The tray of rice and beans, probably the most boring dish you can serve, most plain dish you can put out, was very good. We also got pulled beef, which just looked like clumped up shreds of meat, was tender and moist. The chicken was my favorite: tender slices of chicken in an avocado/mango sauce (tons of pieces of avocado and mango). The vegetable slaw did not look appetizing at all so I passed, but heard from coworkers that even this was good. I just can't get over it. None of the food looked pretty, but it all was very tasty. My experince with Tina was 5 stars from beginning to end.  She was very responsive through email, was on time, and the food was great!  The chicken adobo was the star, with everyone raving about it.  I should have ordered 3 times more lumpia!  She even made cupcakes for my daughter's birthday as a surprise.  Thanks so much Tina for making my party planning so much less stressful. This review is LONG overdue, but I must say that Tina is a one-of-a-kind caterer! While she is everything that everyone else has mentioned here: friendly, very responsive, on time, efficient, and overall great at what she does and is clearly passionate about: providing great food to people, what makes her unique is her family-friendly persona - she truly treats you like family, but the service is very professional! We ordered catering through Tina's Kusina a year ago for a student banquet and got the Cuban menu - it was a BIG hit!! We all loved it! This year, when planning time came around to getting a caterer for this event, the first (and only) catering request was Tina's Kusina. This time we got the American menu (how can you resist mashed potatoes) and it was just as delicious! I found Tina's Kusina's while searching Yelp for a caterer who made Filipino food near Mountain View.  I was excited to learn she is same Tina who owned the (now closed) Tina's Kusina in Downtown Mountain View.  She now focuses her efforts on catering.  For our party of about 75 people we ordered Lumpia Shanghai, Pancit Palabok, Lechon Kawali, Kare Kare, Chicken Apritada, and Pinakbet.  We also got Mac n Cheese and a Fresh Fruit Tray.  I heard many compliments about the food from our guests.  They kept asking who made the food.  Everyone loved it!  My personal favorites were the Lumpia Shanghai, Lechon Kawali, and Kare Kare.  We ordered 200 lumpias and they were gone in the first 30 minutes.  Must make a mental note to  order more next time.Tina was great at communicating via email, answering all my questions during the party planning process.   Delivery was promt.  And, she was flexible when I realized (at the end of the party) that I totally forgot to pay her when she delivered the food!  Oops!  I would definitely use Tina for our future catering needs! I used Tina for the first time for a company catering job and unfortunately, I was out sick during the day of the catering.  However, upon my return to the office, all people had to say was how flavorful and ample the food and portions were.  I selected the Cuban menu for that day and everyone pretty  much raved about it.  So, next time we'll have another exotic cuisine and I'm sure that it will be just as wonderful!  Thank you, Tina.  It's very much appreciated and you made me look good!  I'll be sure to be more healthy so that I may partake of your delicious food.  Thanks loads!     8o) More...

15 plus years of catering with Tina has shown me that there is such a thing as a perfect meat, that you dont have to make yourself. Tina has catered my kids birthdays, my own birthdays, professional dinners at home, as well as being flexible enough to make food that I would then take to my own potlucks.In a single word, her cooking is fantastic and unprecedented. Tina recently catered for a 50 person dinner that I helped organized. We had chosen the Cuban family style entrees and the dishes were delicious! We had ropa vieja, mango avocado chicken breast, grilled vegetables, fried plantains, and rice with black beans for entrees, For appetizers we had spring rolls and Shanghai Lumpias. The spring rolls were really tasty with the peanut sauce. The mango avocado chicken breast was perfectly cooked- really tendy and moist. It was my favorite dish of all. For dessert, she made  white, chocolate, and lemon cakes. The cakes were extremely moist and light. The fruit tray was also a refreshing option.Tina and her team were very professional. Tina was really friendly and had a big smile on her face throughout the whole night. She and her team set up and cleaned up in a timely manner and packed up all the left overs for us. Let me tell you why Tina's Kusina Catering is amazing. There's a real lady who runs Tina's Kusina and her name is Tina. Tina catered my feature film set recently that lasted three weeks. Each time my cast and crew was so happy and content when eating Tina's meals. Don't get me wrong, a hardworking and hungry crew will eat whatever they are given. However, on the days that Tina provided meals... things were better: everyone's moral was boosted. The jokes were funnier. The work after the meal was more efficient. That's the power of a good meal. Tina knows this well.Tina prepares all kinds of styles and ethnicities of food, just like lots of people do, but what's most important is that Tina truly enjoys feeding people. Maybe that's the driving force behind her catering biz, which is more than just a business... it's higher... it's a calling.When Tina's not working and cooking for an event she's in the kitchen making something for someone. I had a private Christmas party catered by Tina and the event went very well due to the catering service she provided.  Her food was freshly made and was absolutely delicious.  Everybody at the party asked me who the caterer was and how I found her.  She is very reasonably priced and is very casual and friendly in style.  At first I was a bit concerned by her casualness since she never asked me for a deposit upfront to book the date.  A lot of caterers I checked with tried to get me to make a deposit even before seeing a menu.  Tina never even attempted to make a hard sale on me, so when she didn't ask for a deposit I got worried.  However, on the day of the party Tina arrived on time, delivered as promised, and her bill came out to be exactly as she quoted.  I could not get enough compliments on her food and service.  What a gem of a find she is....thanks yelp. Tina's cassava cake is the best i have ever had!!! =) Her food tastes so authentic and home made like mom's cooking. I ordered the cassava cake for my holiday party and for thanksgiving and all i can say is that everyone loved it! ! I definitely recommend her. She is super friendly and goes out of her way. Tina is GREAT!!!I found Tina's Kusina (the restaurant, before it was closed) from driving around downtown Mountain View. Tina has been so nice as well as the other cooks there and the food reminds me of home. I was so happy to find the place close by that serves Filipino foods, but it has been closed. Before she closed her restaurant she gave me her business card, which I kept for several months before I actually was able to use her catering service.I am so glad I did!!!I was throwing a surprise birthday party and I have been planning 3 months in advance. Tina was very understanding and got everything set for me. She was very helpful and suggested food choices as well as how much food to get for the number of guests I was having. She was also willing to improvise her recipes to accommodate my guests' taste. She was the only one that was part of my list of planning I didn't have to worry about once I've picked out what I wanted to have. I was emailing and calling her up until the event. She was even on vacation when I contacted her a few times, but that didn't stop her from helping me and answering my questions. I ordered roughly 12 different items from her catering menu and I was so happy she pulled through. She even delivered the food on time as I specified and had EVERYTHING I ordered. Tina also set up the food table for me, which she didn't have to. She also brought a complimentary tray of "biko" as a birthday gift.Everyone at the party loved the food and complimented about it throughout the evening.
