Where have you been all my life!!! I was in Hawaiian Tel and man... that bread smell was fantastic! I couldn't help myself and had to try it out. I didn't know what to get and was told the Goodfella was one of the "Roll Masters" (don't think that's what they're called but I'm calling them that) favorites. Oh my god!!!! My sandwich was perfect! The veggies were a perfect balance, the meat had great flavor (boars head, so you can't go wrong), and it brings me to... the bread!!! The bread such an amazing flavor that complemented the fillings, a little sweet, not too hard and not too soft. The size was perfect, I'm normally a double meat kinda girl but this was just right! Sorry about the picture, ate half of it and then realized I needed a picture More...

Our office order lunches from here because the sandwiches are ono and they deliver promptly! The bread is so good. I usually get an array of sandwiches as well as their walking salad sandwiches (breadless) and everyone loved them all. Everything arrived on time, freshly made, and tasty. The Big Kahuna is HUGE and loaded with meats. We definitely will be ordering a few times a year for our office lunches. More...

Prior to ordering from Timmy T's, I had tried to order from 2 other sandwich shops first.  I had to find a place that would make sandwiches for 10 people in about 2 hours.  The first two shops that I called not only met me with opposition, but I received attitude as well (how dare you order 10 sandwiches same day!!).  Things were looking bleak and I was going to have to order pizza for the office (again) instead...However, I gave it one more try and found Timmy T's website.  Lo and behold, down at the bottom they said that they specialize in last minute orders.  Still unable to believe it (all the negativity from the previous two shops was curbing my optimism at this point), I called Timmy T's and asked if they would be able to put together a Party Platter for my office - and at this point I was already down to just over an hour.  The person who answered the phone said "of course!" and offered to make us the 30 piece platter with a variety of meats.  They even allowed me to add on a custom lettuce wrapped veggie sandwich (for the vegetarian of the office) on top of it all.  I was beyond relieved.I showed up to pick up my platter right on time.  When I entered the shop I was not only greeted by the cashier, but by some of the people in the back making the sandwiches. It was a friendly atmosphere and very welcoming for a customer who just laid down a catering order last minute :)  If you thought that this couldn't get any better, it turned out that the sandwiches were extremely delicious and everyone at the office was thanking me on supplying them with yummy sandwiches.  The bread was soft and slightly sweet, I loved that there were sprouts mixed in with the lettuce and the meats were exceptional (duhh, it's Boars Head!)  Overall, great sandwiches and it's true, they really do specialize in last minute requests! Next time, they will be a first choice and not a last resort! More...

I had walked past this sandwich shop a couple of early mornings and was struck by the enticing aroma of baking bread wafting from the store. I decided to stop in this afternoon to grab a sandwich and take back to my hotel for later. Stopping in just a couple of minutes before 4, I didn't know they were getting ready to close at 4. Both the young men working came out to help me, never displaying any frustration at this straggler just before closing time. I ordered a turkey sandwich and one of the guys said they only had thicker wheat bread left. No problem. He immediately got to work throwing my sandwich together while the other lad rang up my order. Polite, efficient, friendly. Nicely done, guys. I dove into my sandwich about 45 minutes later and it was so good!  The bread had a nice crust-criso but not hard enough to chip a tooth. Tasty. Fresh. The turkey was REALLY good. All the veggies were super fresh as well. Excellent customer service, very tasty sandwich, with generous portions and homemade bread. YUM! More...

Finally a good sandwich!!!I have been praying for a place like this.  Fast Fun and full of Flavor.  We were given a menu at our office and informed of the new location opening downtown.  I have tried other shops and most of them are high priced and you get so much bun you can barely tell what you are eating.  NOT SO with Timmy T's!!  That sando was PACKED with meat and fixings.  There was crunch from the lettuce, onions and peppers.  The meat was fresh, thinly sliced, tender and delicious.  There also was some great tang from a splash of vinegar. They took my order the instant I stepped foot in the door, they built it while I was standing in line.  Then the sandwich came flying through the air to the cashier and I was walking away with my lunch in under a minute.  These guys keep it lively in the shop and are having fun.  I think you will enjoy this spot.  I will defiantly be back to Timmy T's. Cute little place!  The restaurant isn't big but it seemed really clean, wasn't busy, and the workers were very friendly.  The sandwiches were really good .  I wasn't a huge fan of the bread.  It had a bit of a sweet taste and I would have preferred a French bread.  This is my only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5.  The bread isn't a deal breaker though.  The only sides available are a giant dill pickle, which was awesome, and kettel chips.  It would be more if they had a few more options.  Our family isn't big on kettel chips.  Over all everyone was really happy with the experience and we will definitely be back. I love me a good sandwich! For those of you working or visiting downtown Honolulu, you know how crazy lunch hour can get. There are many places to go, but they're spread out over downtown, and most if not all have lines out the door .This is my second visit to Timmy T's, located in the Hawaiian Tel building (where the customer service shop used to be) close to the corner of Bishop and Beretania. So happy that there's a sandwich shop up on our side of downtown for a change! On my first visit, I had a gift card, so I ordered the Pacific Pastrami (1/4# of thin sliced pastrami with dijon, cheese, lettuce, pickle chips and red onions for $11.49), because I really love pastrami. I've been on the hunt for a good one for a long time, and sadly, this one was okay. It was a little dry for my taste, but I attributed it to my asking for no mayo. However, the pickles in the sandwich made it taste really good! I had eaten only 1/2 of the sandwich, and my daughter found the other half and gobbled it up. I guess she really liked it!I had a special buy one, get one free offer for the Classic Grinders that I couldn't pass up on, so my coworker and I decided to take lunch early and see if the offer was legit... YES it was! So she ordered the "Braddah" (described as tender roast beef, with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo) and I ordered "Da Vinny" (salami, capicola, provolone cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, italian herbs and vinaigrette).  Both sandwiches are on an 8" Hawaiian style roll.My coworker said her Braddah was okay... the meat was a little on the drier side. My Vinny was really yummy! A pleasant surprise compared to the pastrami. While I was surprised with the amount of onions that were in there. I really think the Italian herbs and vinaigrette made the flavors of the meats and cheese pop. So good! There are a good variety of sandwiches on the Classic Grinders menu priced at $7.99. They also have Little Kahunas for $5.99, Local Grinders for $9.49, and Specialty Grinders for $11.49 and $12.49. They also offer treats from sodas to cookies ($1.49-$1.89) as well as add-ons like pickle chips and peppers ($0.59 each) to Xtra Pastrami ($2.99).Whenever we've gone, we have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for our sandwiches. Even if there is a long line, the workers are friendly, quick and get your sandwich made promptly! If you're in downtown, swing on by, they'll be happy to see you! More...

I have been here a couple of times but this time, I have found my FAVORITE sandwich. My coworker made this up, so I will call it the "Kailua J": the #12 club Kailua, walking salad, extra turkey, pickle chips, light on mayo. If you are looking to watch your carbs and don't want to fill up on bread, this is an AWESOME option. It's like a huge lettuce wrap burrito. The perfect combo with the turkey, crunch veggies and avocado/mayo. We also did combos with the chips and a cookie. Both were yummy!!The guys are awesome, super nice and they even toss you your sandwich!! I love every time I go in this place. Cheers to Timmy T's and their deli fresh sandwiches!! While I do applaud the quickness of their sandwich making skills. I do have to point out that out of the 10 times I have gone here, there have been many mistakes. Mostly forgetting to leave out an item that is unwanted. These mistakes I usually brush off as it's not going to kill me.Now, everytime we have been here we spend roughly $50+ on four sandwiches. A little pricey you might think, but if you see what subway charges for half the meat I will gladly pay.Now the unfortunate which is why I'm giving them the low rating. A few weeks ago they forgot to give us a pickle. I called and let them know. They asked if I wanted to come back to get it? I said no, can you put my name down so the next time I come I will just pick it up!Today, I go and order my usual $50 worth of sandwiches and let the guy know about the pickle incident. Another gentleman comes over and asks what was the name? I oblige and tell him. He looks on a wall and there is no name He then says "I will go ahead and give you a pickle THIS TIME!" As if I was lying about the incident? I said.. "This time?". Shocked as if I was asking for a $15 dollar sandwich. I'm thinking..Wow! I just spent $50 on sandwiches and a pickle is what I want for free! After being a little offended by this matter I was just wanting to leave so I gathered the sandwiches and the free pickle that now I apparently inconvenienced them over and received one last rude comment from the rude gentleman. And that was a BY-YEEEE!THIS was uncalled for. So I came home and went through my bank statements and found we have spent Over $400 dollars total on all the visits. Not once have we complained or assked for anything free. And now I'm getting harrased for a $1.49 pickle I have no ill will towards this establishment. I actually enjoy (most of the time) how nice and friendly the staff is.But it only takes one experience to ruin it.Update. I see I may have over reacted as this place is Really good most of the time. You just have to realize that this place probably has so many people coming in trying to deviate from the menu? So I understand there will be mistakes. And unfortunately there probably are people going in saying they didn't get a pickle. If I reviewed the multiple mistakes some other unamed fast food places around town make. I would be complaining all day.I will be returning with a little more compassion and understanding.Thank you More...

Ok, so finally - I told him I need a turkey sandwich-I've been to subway, kalapawai, the shop On Hekili, wholefoods, 711 , lol, the wrap place in Kaneohe, everywhere.(I'm pregnant with a turkey sandwich craving, like-a serious turkey craving--I've been into every sandwich shop in a 10mile radius of Kailua, just within the last month, trying to find my perfect sandwich) OMG. Maybe I'm over overreacting bu this is the bestest yummyiest biggest tastiest thing I ever ate!! And I think I found a winner! For $9.50- this sub is HUGE. I got the Kailua Club, turkey, cucumber avocado lettuce, tomato, mayo, think that's it-but YUM. This place seemed to have the most BANG for your BUCK. Wholefoods sandwich was probably 1/2 the size of this for $11. And I was still hungry after eat it. Kalapawai- I love kalapawai, but again the size was smaller and theirs was $10-$11ishThey also have the small kahunas for $5.50 basic subs, ask them to add mayo. So no picture, CUS ITS IN MY TUMMY! This place is my favorite sandwich shop windward side. The business model might remind you of a certain mainland chain that makes sandwiches really fast, but this place has the local flare that is far from a mainland chain. The bread is fresh, soft and sweet. Pair that with the Goodfella sandwich and it leaves a little craving in the back of you mind when lunch time rolls around. The keiki sandwiches are very plain, I would just splurge and get a normal sandwich if you want to sneak in some veggies for your little one. Fresh, new spot in Downtown Honolulu. They're located on the first floor of the Hawaiian Telcom building, on the left side of the lobby. Their walls are bright and are decorated with beach and sandwich themed décor. All sandwiches are supposed to be 8 inches long but it's actually closer to 9 inches. They have classics like BLT's and veggie, but they also have specialty and local sandwiches. Specialty as in the Ono Moa (quarter point of chicken, bacon, veggies, etc.) and Local as in the Ono Smoked Ham (Double ham, cheese, veggies, etc.). For my first visit, I went for something safe: Bird of Paradise. It's basically a turkey sandwich with veggies. They are generous with their tomato slices (very thick) and lettuce. It automatically comes with mayo, so if you're anti-mayo, let them know when you order. The sandwich was onolicous and the bread...for me, was the best part. It was a Hawaiian style roll that was soft and it was almost as sweet as sweet bread. Not quite, but close enough. There was a line, but it moved pretty quick. The employees were jamming making sandwiches. My Bird of Paradise was comin' in hot because the employee threw it (underhand) over the counter at me. Luckily, I knew to expect it because he was throwing each customer's sandwich at them. I'm not a huge sandwich fan but thanks to Timmy T's, I could end up being a huge sandwich fan. I will have to go back soon to try other sandwiches and their homemade cookies. More...
