What makes a great website?
1. Presentation and good use of color (if a site is not pleasing to the eyes, you've immediately lost the interest of potential clients)
2. Loads quickly (if it takes too long to load, most potential clients will give up and look elsewhere)
3. Well written (SEO depends highly on well written content and good coding)
4. User design/user interaction (can your potential clients find what they want easily)
5. Cell phone friendly (huge issue; more than half of the internet searches are performed on mobile phones; all websites should come with mobile friendly versions)
The list could keep going, but if you have these 5 points covered, you'll be happy and your customers will be happy. Launching the website is one thing, make sure you have a plan in place for keeping the site updated and adding new content. Be sure you also have a plan in place to advertise your new site.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
1. What is your vision or goal for your project?
2. What is your timeline or deadline for launching the project?
3. What information do you already have prepared (i.e. if it's an online store, do you have photos already or do you need photos taken. Do you have content written already or do you need content written, etc.)
4. What is your budget?
5. How far along are you in setting up the business (is it a startup or an established company)
Based on those 5 questions, your designer should be able to give you a working idea of the time-frame and costs to create your project. Keep in mind, changes happen all the time. Enjoy the process and you will enjoy your new results.
