Thumb Butte Distillery

Throughly enjoyed a tour and tasting at Thumb Butte Distillery. James gave us an informative tour with a tasting flight of vodka, rum, bourbon and rye. Truly enjoyable experience. If I am going to drink gin, I usually choose Hendrinks, but, their Western Sage Gin was wonderful and we are going home with a bottle. :) Denise made us a "Pants on Fire" cocktail to try which was as much fun to watch her prepare as it was tasty! We are huge fans of the distillery and the great team there! Dana, Jim and Justin helped to make our wedding day extra special by preparing our wedding favors and pouring some tasty beverages to welcome our guests upon their arrival at the Holiday Courtyard. The favors were such a nice surprise for our guests and an opportunity to try awesome local spirits. While in Prescott we went to check out Thumb Butte's whiskey's and we were very impressed of the three in our flight the best was the Robert's Rye made for Robert Mitchum's son who apparently lives in the area. Very flavorful 100 proof rye. We got to talk to the brains behind the mixtures and cocktails, Justin, and he was very informative and knowledgeable. He made us a layered bourbon shot with homemade almond and coffee liqueur which was delicious and he also made us a killer Old Fashioned.  Every additive to make cocktails is made in house along with a variety of liqueurs. Besides from whiskey they make gin, vodka and even Amaro. Next time we are up in Prescott we will return. More...

I cannot day enough great things about this distillery!  My bf loves gin so this was a no brainer for us on our recent road trip to Prescott.  We were lucky that it was within walking distance from our airbnb.When we walked in, there was a smallish bar with a few patrons taking part in some drinks.  We missed the tour by about thirty minutes so we opted to taste some gin at the bar instead.Wow!  The alcohol was amazing.  The bartenders were also very sweet and knowledgeable.  Their syrups are handmade and I appreciate the craft that goes into their mixing of cocktails.  You can tell there's some true passion in what they do.We ended up leaving with a bottle of the Western Sage gin because it was DELICIOUS.  Be sure to stop in to this place on your way through. Attended the tour and learned SO much.  What a great group of people and their cocktails were amazing and delicious. It's a small place right now but they are definitely going to grow.  I sent a bottle of their whiskey to a friend who is a whiskey connoisseur and he said it was the best whiskey he's ever had!  They have music on weekends also. This place has an industrial feel and look but don't let that fool you. The staff is super and these aren't your typical cocktails. Half the fun is watching them prepare your chosen drink. Great place to hang out. People very friendly and service was great. Really like their vodka's but they were sold out of the Meyer Lemon infused vodka; next time I am up plan on buying a few bottles. However did bring back their other vodka's and those cool glasses with the air bubbles; great for vodka on the rocks. Would be nice for them to develop some fruit flavored brandies and Schnaps; great for the winter months and when it's snowing in Prescott and I need to take that tour. Owner who gave the tour was extremely knowledgeable about what he does. There Bloody Basin Bourbon my girlfriend and I loved and we don't like Bourbon but it did get a bronze medal for the entire country.
