The Wyvern Hotel is an absolute gem, perfect in every way. ||It’s convenient and within walking distance to downtown shopping and restaurants. ||The upstairs rooftop bar is beautiful offering a full bar and food selections at very reasonable prices. ||The breakfast is fresh, delicious and fast. ||The room is a dream to enjoy and sleep in with first class furnishings and exquisite bathroom. ||But the best aspect of the Wyvern are it’s employees. They always warmly greet you and seem to go above and beyond to make you comfortable. ||Special thank you to Melissa who works the front desk. Very loud music from the bar next door until after 1 am on a Friday night. I was told by the person at the front desk that the discounted rooms were on that side of the building and not the harbor side which is quieter.

When you come to stay at the Wyvern you don’t have to go anywhere else in Punta Gorda. The staff both front desk,hospitality and housekeeping will go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Bar staff special shout out to Sherry Kathy and Natalie make a bar experience worth having. The chef’s menu is better than anything else I’ve eaten in PG and very affordable. I enjoyed a great stay at the Wyvern Hotel. It is convenient to downtown Punta Gorda, parks, and the marina. They have a very nice restaurant on the lobby level and a rooftop bar and pool area with the best views in town. The rooms are large and very attractive and the bathrooms are very nice, with a deep tub and separate shower. There is also a small gym on site. The Wyvern appears to be an upper end hotel. And, it is. But, they also have very reasonably priced accommodations. Very courteous service from all staff members we encountered. The main restaurant and bar are excellent. Great food and service. The rooftop bar is also excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. |Punta Gorda was such a sleepy fishing town back in the 70’s. Now, it has a hip vibe and a great nightlife. Plenty to do and the Wyvern is within walking distance of many venues. |Opt for an upper floor facing north for a great view. More...

Let me say that Amber and Vincent went above and beyond to not only take care of myself' but also the entire wedding group that was staying here. My husband and I made plans to attend The Big Orange Music Fest and decided, even though locals, to make it a mini get away and stay at the Wyvern. Great service! I called the front desk in the morning for possible early check, learning they were close to capacity, but would do their best to accommodate once we arrived. We were quite happy with our travel to this location. The hotel has a pool on the roof with a fabulous view, especially in the evening sunsets! There is a bar and restaraunt on roof as well with great service. The lower level dining wonderful and we highly recommend the many nightly specials the chefs provided during our stay. The staff was excellent at every level, we had new linens every day, and were helpful many times without request. They were like a big hepful family. We had no issues during our stay! More...

On a recent business trip, my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Wyvern Hotel. We travel a lot and usually prefer four star hotels, but this was an overnight trip so we didn't want to spend too much. I have a hotel I usually stay with when I am in this area, but I happen to see the Wyvern and thought the reviews warranted a visit. ||||I must say I was more than impressed with their attention to detail. It is as though they listened to people who travel a lot and added everything we requested. The rooms are huge and the furnishings are not only very stylish, but comfortable. The mattress was super comfortable and they even had great pillows (which is rare on the road), but my true enthusiasm for this hotel was the overall experience. ||||From the rooftop pool bar and restaurant to the full bath with walk in shower and full size tub, marble floors, granite counters, trey ceiling with crown molding, are you kidding!!
