For me, the perfect lunch spot. I am pretty much of a regular here and love it for the weekday lunch. They have fantastic wines by the glass, a good selection of food items, and Sean is great. I have been for dinner only once a while ago and i remember it being fine, don't remember any issues or anything, but i can't really speak to their dinner anymore. Would highly recommend for lunch and a glass of wine tho! More...

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh and a must if you're in the Lawrenceville area. The food is always excellent and I've never had a bad or even a disappointing meal. Service is routinely quite good and the menu changes just enough to keep it interesting. Everything is expertly prepared, the severs are very knowledgeable, and the interior is just right. I love coming here and am looking forward to my next visit. Keep up the great work! More...

We recently went. It was around 12:30pm on a Sunday. It was packed but we only waited about 5 minutes for 2 of us. We sat by the window, which was nice since I enjoy people watching. We ordered the mimosa and coffee, coffee, coffee. I thought my mimosa was pretty strong (not complaining), and I actually tolerated the taste of coffee, coffee, coffee which was surprising since I don't enjoy the taste of coffee. My partner ordered the salmon benedict, which he enjoyed but thought the portion did not justify the price for either his or my meal. I thought the salmon could have used a little more seasoning, otherwise the hollandaise and vegetables were very flavorful. I ordered the lamb ragu and was glad I did. The lamb had an umami taste that I extensively enjoyed and thinking about it makes me want more. It did a great job at giving the polenta a delightful flavor. I thought my meal came together very well.    I enjoyed the meal but felt like there weren't many options that did not revolve around bread, potatoes, or chips, which I like but it would have been nice to see more variety More...

Our visit to the Vandal was the first time for dinner, but we'd been for brunch before which was delicious. The food and service were great, but the restaurant was freezing cold. I had to sit with my jacket on the entire dinner service in order to stay remotely warm. Although the food is great, I definitely won't be returning unless its a warm evening outside. More...

For brunch the Vandal is great. There's more seating than it appears from the outside, although the space is rather small. The kitchen is open, which helps make everything feel more integrated. Service is friendly, coffee is great, and food is strong with excellent presentation. The menu has some limitations but there are lots of add-one one can pursue. A pretty nice array of brunch cocktails are also available. More...

*WOULD RECOMMEND*This place screams AESTHETIC. When we went, we had only 30 minutes before they close down for a private event. They were nice enough to seat and make sure we received our food with plenty of time to eat before they close. The presentation was all an instahoe like me could ask me. Price was just a bit high for the amount of food we get but it was still good. Plus their menus are seasonal so there's so much to try!*BRUNCH*I got their trout dish and it was pretty good! It came with some greens, pickled cucumbers, and fried potato pancakes. I wished the potato pancake had more flavor to it but the trout was very flavorful and fresh. Portions were just right for the meal.*VERDICT*I will definitely come back More...

Small, cute brunch place! We (party of 2) went there for Sunday brunch at 11am and waited around 20min to be seated. I'm not a huge fish person, let alone a trout fan, but ordered the smoked trout after seeing the beautiful photos and reading the many positive reviews. Turns out, I made the right decision--the trout was delicious! I cleaned my plate. The cinnamon roll was medicore--beautiful visuals with frosting drizzled on top, but the inside was a bit dry. Wish there were more seating options for two, besides the window seats, and outdoor seating for those waiting to be seated. More...

One of my favorite restaurants of all time. I make it a point to come here every chance I'm in Lawrenceville due to the fact that not only is their menu is always changing (and they have separate breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus which I love), but they are consistently surprising me with the dishes and flavors they come up with! The chefs pay attention to the smallest details which make the food worth wild. I also am amazingly shocked with pricing of their food. So affordable for reasonable portions, I honestly thought it would be more expensive but my check has never been more than $30 (unless I'm getting drinks). I recommend this to anyone and everyone, they have very simple great creations as well as dishes I would have never thought to try. I think there is something for everyone here with their large variety of options and open-mindedness when it comes to their menu!! More...

We went a little before the brunch rush and got a table immediately. Parking in that area is hit or miss (usually miss) so take that into account if you're trying to get there by a certain time. The atmosphere was trendy and food was good. I wish there was a way to only dock a half star because I would give them a 4.5 if I could. I like my food seasoned, and it was. I wasn't a fan of the extra tablespoon of sea salt on top of either of our plates though. It might've just been an off day because everything else was great. We got:-soft scramble: perfect eggs-fontina Mac and cheese: so creamy and delicious but a little too heavy for 10 am. The leftovers were great for dinner. -drip coffee: tasted good with and without cream, didn't have that burnt taste some restaurants that aren't just coffee shops have. If anyone's looking for it, they serve Parlor Coffee. More...

I won't go on and on since I've written two fairly long reviews in the last two months. The Vandal was outstanding again with some new menu additions. I had the Tomato leaf chittara pasta with basil, burrata, blistered tomatoes and balsamico which was new to the menu and I am very glad I did. My wife and I shared the Chanterelle mushroom appetizer, possibly the best mushrooms I have ever eaten. One thing I've never mentioned is the tasty and plentiful (complimentary) bread service at the Vandal which is a course for which m many of their competitors charge There was a party of nine to ten people at one table and as we ate most of the tables filled up. The hostess/server/bar tender did an amazing job of fulfilling everybody's needs calmly and quickly. We try to go to the Vandal for dinner every two weeks and we always walk out very impressed.
