The other taxi service I'd used when in ILM had gotten more recent less-than-stellar reviews, and we couldn't risk being late to the airport for our flights. So because of all of the great reviews, we decided to give The Transporter a try, and we're so glad we did! Richard, the owner, is SUPER communicative and easy to work with. The follow-thru was spot-on, for making the appointment and getting the driver's name & direct dial. Our driver was on-time and courteous. Clean vehicle, and he was COVID protocoled. The price was was very fair, so we tipped heavily. We'll use them again each time we're in ILM! (This first trip of ours was on Dec 14, 2021 as a point of reference.) More...

Great customer service and communication! Utilized his services from the Wilmington airport to Bald Head for 10 people and he was awesome! I cannot say enough good things about The Transporter and the excellent service they have given me since they started serving me 15 years ago. I have used them several times a month and no matter what time I need a pick up, whether 4AM, in the middle of a storm, or with last minute changes, etc., I can ALWAYS count on one of the drivers being there and on time. Transporter is the BEST! My wife and I recently needed taxi service from our home to the airport (didn’t want to pay for 8 days of long term parking). I found the ‘Transporter’ site, read the reviews, and knowing of other services in the area I decided to give ‘Transporter’ a try. Great decision! I emailed in my particulars and received an immediate response. I received a quote for the price, and an explanation of how ‘Transporter’ works. The day before my taxi needs I received a confirmation text (I had requested the taxi a week in advance, though not required). The confirmation text included the name of my driver, vehicle description, and direct number of my driver in case I had last minute changes. I needed a 5:30am pick-up, at 5:25 I received a text from my driver that he was in my driveway waiting. Sweet! Transporter also requested my return flight info, and they tracked my flight back home. As I got off the plane and turned on my phone I had a text from my driver. He was curbside at baggage pickup and if needed he would meet me at the baggage pick up to assist. A home run! The early afternoon before my 6am flight to Wilmington North Carolina, I find out that my $100+ a night hotel doesn't offer shuttle service from the airport to the hotel!  <br><br>Annoying right !!  I googled "ILM taxi service", they were 3rd on the list; normally I'd call the one at the top of the list but something about their name "the NC transporter" got me to call them first.<br><br>Yes, I've seen too many movies with Jason Statham behind the wheel !<br><br>I was genuinely worried: T minus 15 hours and I'm in North Carolina. if these guys can't help it was going to be a long afternoon for me...figuring out how to get to my hotel...NO I'm not a fan of Uber...<br><br>I sent them an email with my needs and I got a quick response with a quote; it was a deal!<br><br>I told them to pick me up 20 mins after my scheduled flight arrival; I'm being nice, accounting for any flight delays; I imagine taxis have better things to do than wait around. <br><br>It turns out they monitored my flight!  As soon as my phone woke up from it's "airplane mode" induced slumber, I got a message telling me the driver was waiting for me at a specific curbside location, including the color of the taxi and the name of the driver!<br><br>It was awesome, a walking dead zombie could have found the taxi! I got in and was off.  The driver was friendly, had lots of stories to tell and was efficient.  Moreover, he drove like a "professional " driver...I'm trusting my life with this guy!<br><br>I don't give out many 5 stars but really these guys are as good as it gets! Provided me with great service despite what seemed like a last minute arrangement.  They were efficient and profession from beginning to end.  Anytime, I'm in Wilmington North Carolina, and I need a taxi, I'm calling these guys for sure !
