The Spaghetti Shack

This was more a 3.5 star, but because of the prices & convenience it could be considered a 4. There are some definitive pros & cons. There really aren't many places that offer your classic, simple staple of spaghetti. The portions here for the spaghetti bowls are quite generous! The single serving was really enough for two full servings. I added a meatball, not sure how large it would be, but one is plenty for a single serving. Next time I'd order two for the one bowl. A very adequate amount of sauce fully covers the pasta & leaves enough to dip the side of garlic bread included. The garlic bread is a nice slice, large enough to split in half to share & had good texture/flavor. It's the spaghetti & meatball where the flavor & consistency is really lacking. Pretty bland with no seasoning. Not memorable or good enough to request seconds. The cheesy garlic bread was also a decent portion, enough for two to split. Definitely an adequate amount of cheese & perfectly melted. It was actually my favorite part of the meal. I also ordered the side salad- which was a decent size. But, not really a "salad" when it was literally lettuce from a bag with one cherry tomato on top. The "Italian" dressing I selected ended up being a container marked "H" that looked like ranch but tasted like ranch with a spoon of sugar included. It just wasn't very good. Overall, the food was the equivalent of what you'd get buying a package of pasta, jarred sauce, pre-made frozen meatballs, bagged iceberg lettuce & pre-made garlic bread. Very basic & nothing that really stands out. But, there is something to be said for the simplicity. It's very straight forward & the prices are decent. For a quick & classic dinner this will cover the bases & satisfy cravings. I'll likely order again when I'm in the mood for spaghetti or need a quick dinner to please everyone. I stopped by today and order small shack, meatball sub and cheesecake. The meat sauce was flavorable and I could have them add more spices to it. I found the seasonings were spot on and blended well. The sauce and spagheti were good and still hot when i got home. The meatball were a combination of pork and beef, tender flavorable and very moist. They did not skimp on the mozzarella and the sauce was right amount. The toasted garlic butter bread was very good. I could have eaten more. This will become my favorite place. Had been looking forward to trying out this menu so I ordered yesterday. The staff is exceptional so personable very customer oriented. I ordered the bucket for one plus extra meat balls and garlic bread and for good measure a meatball sandwich . The sauce was perfect consistency the meatballs so tasty good ate the sandwich and intended to save extras for later which didn't happen friend stopped by and I mistakenly offered a taste all I could here was "so good" food gone. Wanted to order something a little different for a night. Honestly not bad for a fast food spaghetti spot. We had the mid shack to share for 2 people which actually gave us 2 meals each. It's a nice heavy bucket filled with pasta, but the sauce to pasta ratio is lacking. There was sauce on the bottom of the bucket and on the top, but the spaghetti was all dry in the middle. It comes with 2 pieces of garlic bread. The bread was yummy but honestly you can't go wrong with buttered bread. Personally I couldn't taste any garlic flavor at all though, ehh a bit disappointing. This was our first time picking up from The Spaghetti Shack. When I walked in it did smell very good so I was optimistic.We ordered the Mid Shack with 4 meatballs and an extra order of Garlic Bread . While everything was very tasty, I was a little thrown off by some of the portions. With a bucket of pasta and 4 meatballs we were expecting a nice amount of sauce to cover and dip, unfortunately we had barely any sauce, really just what was stuck to the meatballs. Spaghetti by the bucket; great concept! Bf and I shared the mid-shack (1 lb!!) which feeds 2 for $11.95. Meatballs are a la carte; we added 4 for $1.50/each. We honestly could have done 2 or 3 meatballs; the meatballs are 2oz (think golf ball size) each! This brought our total to $17.95, pre-tax and pre-tip. Not bad considering it came with garlic bread. After discovering this place the day I was filling up my water jugs at the water store nearby, I've been coming here at least 2 times a week and I love it. Simple menu, which I like:I constantly get the meatball sub and it's always been great.I recently got an order of the "small shack" which is the small spaghetti and it was delicious and lots of food for the price! I was driving down the Rural and saw something on the door that looked like it said 'spaghetti'. When I got home, I looked it up and found this gem. I'm always looking for some solid spaghetti that just tastes like homemade cooking (I'm single, so I can never finish my own huge pot of spaghetti). I walked into pick up my meal, I was greeted by the amazing aroma and in that moment, I knew this place was it! Their marinara sauce is thick and rich in flavor, the meatballs are amazing and the garlic bread (even plain) was top notch. All I know is if I am craving some homemade spaghetti, this is it for me. I will without a doubt return and next time, I'm trying the meatball sandwich. My mouth is already watering just thinking about it! There are two things I'd love to see, and I don't believe this knocks their rating down. Just trying to manifest it for myself 1. I wish they had meat sauce. The Spaghetti Shack is all about spaghetti and serves it in a bucket to go. It doesn't get any simpler than that. You have three bucket sizes to choose from (which includes garlic bread) - Small Shack (1/2 lb. - feeds 1), Mid Shack (1 lb. - feeds 2), and Full Shack (1 1/2 lb. - feeds 4-5).
