I recently hired Seaside Bar and Grill catering to provide food for 40 people following my mom's memorial service at church.
I spoke with Ken about my food requests and within 1 hour had a proposed menu and price. After a few tweaks, the food was set. Ken arrived with his son and set up everything in advance. The food was plentiful and delicious. I had requested finger foods, since most of the guests were elderly.
The stuffed mushrooms, meatball sliders, chicken salad bites, Italian cheese and meat tray, and brochette were fantastic. We also had mini cannoli and iced cookies. Needless to say, no desserts were left. They stayed and cleaned up afterwards, leaving any extras for me, though not much. Many guests requested the caterer's information for their future parties. How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Creating the perfect menu for our clients is a bit like creating the perfect outfit for a special occasion. You want to find something that is both stylish and appropriate, and that will make our client feel their best. The first step is to get an idea of your client's taste. What kind of foods do they like? What are their dietary restrictions? Once we have a good understanding of our client's likes and dislikes, we can start putting together a list of potential dishes. Next, we'll need to consider how each dish will fit into the overall theme of the event. Is this a casual gathering or a formal affair? Will there be other courses being served, or is this a stand-alone meal? Keep all of these factors in mind as we narrow down the list of options. Finally, if there are any specific requests. They may have a favorite food that they would like to see included on the menu.
What do you love most about your job?
I love my job for many reasons. I love the people I work with, the challenges it presents, and the satisfaction I get from completing a project. But if I had to narrow it down to one thing, I would say it's the feeling of accomplishment I get at the end of the day. Every day, I set out to do something and by the end of the day, I've usually accomplished it. It might not always be something big, but it's always something that I can look back on and feel proud of. And that's what I love most about my job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always been a bit of a entrepreneurial spirit. As I got older, I started to think about ways that I could turn my hobbies into real businesses. That's when I decided to start my own company. I wanted to create something that would be truly unique and that would offer customers a product or service that they couldn't find anywhere else. And, of course, I wanted to be my own boss! So far, it's been a lot of hard work but it's also been incredibly rewarding. I'm proud to say that my business is thriving and that I'm able to inspire other entrepreneurs to follow their dreams.
