. You Want Pizza.... This is no regular Pizza, this is the Pizza that you'll be longing to get again and again. Fellow Oklahoma Fat Guy Club Member Gannon Mendez has gone from having one of the top rated food trucks in the nation to a brick & mortar restaurant of his own that will be pleasing Pizza lovers for years to come... I walked through the door with my dinner date & Gannon is standing nearby to welcome us with a smile and a handshake... While we've only met a few times he always remembers me and immediately makes me feel like we have the run of the place. It's a cold, rainy night and the restarant is pleasantly warm, and the layout is very inviting . There are 2 large bars, one at each end of the spacious rectangular dining room. One bar is a U shape that actually encompasses the Pizza oven that perfectly cooks your pie in a mere 90 seconds at an astounding 900 degrees 😋 There are a lot of tables that while spaced appropriately, can easily be joined for larger groups. The decor has a rustic Sicilian feel that is very inviting, and comfortable. We sat at the straight bar at the north end and were immediately welcomed by Grant. Not only a great Bartender but a fun person to have a conversation with (see pic 5) and since he's worked with Gammon for several years on the food truck he knows the menu inside out. Grant never missed a beat the entire time we were there. He Gets It and makes you feel right at home! Ok, On to the food!! The menu has a couple of appetizers and a vast selection of creatively designed 10" Pizzas. There's no arguing or settling with another person in your party on what pie you will be sharing because they are all personal pizzas. Yes, you get your very own! So get the one you really want. I wanted to get some food flowing so I ordered the Sauce & Balls Appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. The meatballs were very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The real MVP of the dish was the incredible sauce that accompanied the balls. The sauce was so good that my date wanted every last drop of it. (See pic 3 😁) The lady chose the Capizzi Pizza which has Mozzarella, ricotta, roasted red peppers, roasted garlic, pesto, and sea salt. The flavors perfectly complemented each other. While the crust is light and airy it stood up to the toppings while not leaving you filled with that heavy dough some other pizza places make. I had the Ragusa. Which is built around the Ragusa red sauce, mozzarella, capicola, hot soppressata, Nonna's Italian sausage, pepperoni, and Nonna's homemade meatballs. I love a good meaty Pizza and this one fit the bill perfectly. The full bar is very well stocked and especially satisfying to the craft beer connoisseur. I had the Balls Deep Draft and it was really good while not being too heavy. My date chose the House Red and said it was a great wine 🍷 Gannon you have built a wonderful new restaurant that will be a regular spot for myself, my family, friends and so many others for a very long time. I can't wait for a warm, dry day to come enjoy the patio and large grassy knoll you spoke of.
