Beautiful old Inn (built in 1793) with comfortable rooms, a nice common area and bar. Had some issues with the heat but the staff took care of it and given the age of the Inn, understandable.

We have been here many times and always enjoy our stay. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good (eggs could be hotter). The living room area is nice at night just to relax have a drink or coffee. Included with our package was a three course dinner was delicious. Wonderful atmosphere, actually stellar. The bathrooms are sufficient however tiny, and the continental breakfast atmosphere is a five-star, the food is a 3 star or 4 star comfortable to Best Western or something of that nature. otherwise I would have left the five star review. Beautiful cozy inn for a quiet getaway. Very clean with wonderful staff. The restaurant is incredible and the included breakfast was great as well. The hotel common areas were truly charming and the room was decorated nicely with original, beautiful plank flooring. Unfortunately, the beds were uncomfortable and need replacing and towels smelled of chlorine. Window unit air conditioner couldnt keep up and we woke up hot in middle of the night. Breakfast was wonderful! Dinner was disappointing. The chefs special (filet tips in a lovely mushroom/wine sauce) was great but the salmon was dry and overcooked. I did not eat the crab cake dinner I ordered. There was very little crab, mostly breading and the overpowering spices masked any crab flavor. At such prices, one would expect better. Great place to come back to after a day of skiing. A roaring fire, hot tea and cocoa with a cookie is a nice way to relax from a day out in the cold. Board games are available for play. Bar opens at 5:30pm and dinner starts at 6pm, so you dont need to leave again. Breakfast is included and is a hot buffet of very good quality and variety. My two children always enjoy coming here.
