Saw this restaurant on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives a few years ago and was excited to try their gluten free battered fried chicken and it was worth the wait! Delicious, juicy and crispy fried chicken.Ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer and loved the fresh spin they did with the celery and crispy chicken bits mixed in.Also ordered two sides (small) which were enough for two people to share- generous portions.Friendly service, modern yet rustic space. Can't wait to go back next trip to Colorado! Neat spot to stop for a drink and really good service! We stopped in here for a quick drink while in the area and if we'd had more time in the day or of we were staying closer to Boulder we'd probably have stayed longer. I like their saloon-type feel and feel like it is really the perfect spot for meeting friends or grabbing a cocktail/beer after work. We did not eat here and I wish I had more to elaborate on for this review, but it's a spot I'd definitely return to and would recommend to others. More...

We stopped into the Post with guests from out of town and did not regret it. We kicked off our meal with some cheese curds/pickled cauliflower. The cauliflower was a nice bright note amongst the fried curds. I enjoyed a delicious goat cheese and beets salad as my entree with a cheddar biscuit on the side. Yum! The rest of our party really enjoyed the fried chicken and meat loaf. Our server was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth dropping in for a nice dinner. More...

As Texans visiting the North during the winter we were able to find a warm, hospitable and great place to not only eat but enjoy drinks together and watch football. The fried chicken was fantastic, the beer amazing (the El Corn!), and the people awesome. Zach, Adrian, and Shawna made this the best place to be out of all of our restaurant adventures. Spend your money here for the best food, beer and customer service in Boulder. The Post is a cool place in downtown Boulder that has a lot going for it.  The decor is classic Colorado, with neat things like chairlifts and rustic fixtures.  It checks a lot of boxes - ideally located, you can make reservations, they make their own beer on site.  It's a nice place to visit whether you are a local or someone visiting Boulder. The drink menu is expansive - good beers to choose from (I had the IPA, which was awesome), and a full menu with lots of options.  Our table shared the Warm Pimento Cheese Dip, which is accompanied by toasted bread, chips, and some pickled veggies.  It is a great dish to share, and it is something unique.  Our table ordered the Fried Chicken Chopped Salad, the Post Original Cheeseburger, and the Chicken & Waffles.  They have chicken mastered - perfectly prepared as far as fried chicken is concerned.  The dinner salad was not that large, so I'd probably order a side (there are some good ones, like grits, green chili Mac & cheese, etc). The Post is a fun atmosphere and worth a try.  We were somewhat surprised that they charge $2 for ice (yes, I said ICE!) when you put it in a cocktail.  $2 won't break most people, but to see that ice is itemized on the ticket as a charge was something I've not seen before.  Seems kind of ridiculous and was frankly disappointing, but they really seem to find their ice valuable for some reason. We have friends who live a few blocks away, and this is where they wanted to take us for dinner while we were visiting Boulder. This was such a fun stop, and having lived in California for the last ~5 years, this was a welcome taste of Sweet Home Alabama! We were eating for 4, with plans for some gooooood leftovers:There was a wait when we arrived, and they took our name and phone number, so we were good to wander around the block. The wait was estimated 30-40 minutes, so we stepped into a bar for 1 drink. They called to say our table was ready about 12 minutes later! We actually requested to be moved down the list because we weren't expecting them to be quicker than anticipated, and they accommodated. We were quickly seated when we arrived 20 minutes later. Our table service was quick and friendly, with knowledgeable recommendations of the craft beer menu. What food we ordered:Cheddar biscuits 2/5 :: definitely not perfect southern biscuits; they a little bland. I felt like they just needed more salt and a huge dollop of butter, but I also know that I'm both a cheese and biscuit snob2 birds, 1 Hot Chicken and 1 Regular Chicken 5/5 :: from this southerner, this was some goooood fried chicken. Juicy and crunchy, and that hot chicken had some perfect kick. (And yes, this was a lot of chicken, which I reheated on the cheddar biscuit for breakfast the next morning!)Beets and Sweets 3/5 :: aka roasted beets and sweet potatoes. Yummy! But not the star of the showGrits 5/5 :: maybe the star of the show, but I just love grits the way Grandmomma used to make 'em. These paired awesomely with a bite of fried chickenRanch Salad 3/5 :: because you have to kind of offset things with a little rabbit food, right? It was good; an average little saladMac and cheese 3/5 :: kind of bland as far as mac-n-cheeses go. I found myself opting away from the filling pasta to save room for other thingsThank you, come again? Yeah, absolutely, and I highly recommend you go too. More...

We come here regularly, I think sometimes more for the service than the food. Even when the restaurant is at full capacity service is prompt and polite. My favorite dish is the pot pie, which is the Wednesday Blue Plate Special - awesome anytime, but especially when the weather is chilly! Such a filling portion I can get 2-3 meals out of it. We recently brought a toddler here that we were babysitting and I could not have been more impressed with the courtesy they paid to her (letting her order for herself, listening when she asked for an extra napkin, etc) and the food options available.  I appreciated that her meal came with sides so that no matter how she felt about what she ordered there was something she would actually eat! We will continue to be regulars here. More...

The Post is one of my favorite restaurants, hands down. The chicken and waffles is probably one of my favorite meals, although I have never heard anything bad about a single item on the menu. The biscuits are fantastic, I've heard great things about their sandwiches, and their dessert options are always solid. My favorite waitress, Hannah, is perhaps the sweetest person on the planet. Holy moly. The Post for chicken and beer! Not even kidding you. My husband and I split a 1/2 fried chicken that's a breast, leg, thigh and thigh and we are glad we did. The chicken was INSANE by way of juicy, fried seasoned goodness that I can't use enough adjectives to say how delicious it was. Was also split 1/2 an order of green chile Mac and cheese and 2 biscuits. Amazingly enough we had room for the cinnamon sugar donut holes that come with maple whipped butter. Better than any other donut hole I have had. Their beer is refreshing and light too! Service was super friendly and excellent as well. You need to go and get your fried chicken fix. More...

The Post provides a great casual dinning experience at a few different locations. I'm personally familiar with their original location in Lafayette and their Longmont location by the Village at the Peaks. You can't go wrong with heading to The Post for brunch, dinner, or just to enjoy some flavorful beers with friends. If you head to The Post you must try their fried chicken. It's incredibly moist, flavorful, and has a great crunch to it. I enjoy the classic but if you are daring and like spice you should try their Nashville Hot. Their fried chicken is great for dinner or pairs perfectly with some waffles at brunch. They certainly have some more health conscious options like their breakfast scramble or basic breakfast if you are not a chicken & waffles kind of person. Beyond the food offerings you should remember that this is a brewery that's got a variety of styles on draft that will please anyone you come with. Not too mention The Post has a number of GABF (Great American Beerfest) award winning beers to boast about. I'd highly recommend checking out their El Corn Amber Ale, as that just took home a silver medal at this year's GABF. You also can't go wrong with their 2016 gold medal winning Backyard Saison. All in all, The Post is an all around great spot that I'd highly recommend checking out. More...

I'll begin by saying that since I'm from the South, meaning the Carolinas, Georgia, and the like, my expectations are pretty high when it comes to fried chicken. I like it done in a specific way. Post Brewing did that. Their fried chicken was a taste of home. Friendly service too. My coworker got a simple chicken BLT, but he made it "Nashville hot." I tried it, and it's not as hot as you might think. It definitely had a kick to it, but it's good in its own right. They had a new light beer when I went. The beer was very smooth. I'm happy with it.Our server was prompt, and always making sure we were doing well as we arrived after the lunch rush. I appreciate the prompt service, but I think a good gauge is a check-in every 5-10 minutes, or 15 if it's busy. Our server was on the head of that, checking in roughly every 5 minutes. I think those frequent check-ins might cause the customer to feel rushed. The idea is to check in frequently, but do so in a way that the customer doesn't feel rushed to order.Overall great place, I'll be back to check out their happy hour. More...

I have to eat gluten free due to an allergy. I was thrilled to hear the fried chicken is gluten free. I love the stuff, but cannot eat it because of my allergy to wheat.  The Post Brewing Company's fried chicken is not only gluten free... it's really good. Have eaten here several times and love it each time. I did have one experience were a mistake was made on a lunch take-out order in which some of the items were left out, only to be discovered after I had left the location. I happy to report the management and staff there went to great lengths to make it right and took care of me. Mistakes can happen sometimes, but when a business takes it seriously and shows an effort to make things right, it really goes a long way with me. The food at a restaurant should, at least, be good, but the customer service should be excellent. Here, all of it is excellent. Good place... I'll be back. More...

The Post was an interesting stop during my stroll in downtown Boulder. It was my first time visiting Colorado and I was taking a solo trip so I was just walking around popping into shops, bars and restaurants that peaked my interest. I had a few places on my dinner list but during the afternoon I was just roaming around going in and out of places that grabbed my attention. The Post looked like a friendly enough place, there was almost a full bar but I spotted a few open seats from the window so in I went. I knew that Boulder, well Colorado in general was notorious for their breweries. I'm that weirdo that loves breweries but doesn't like beer so I was hoping that some of these places would offer vodka or wine. I just think the atmosphere of breweries is fun and I like to be a part of that, just without a beer in my hand. Anyways, I pop in with my hiking sneakers, yoga pants and t-shirt, another spot in Boulder where it was perfectly acceptable to be in this get up and I snagged a bar stool. I was instantly greeted by their bartender who threw down a happy hour menu for food and drinks. Immediately, other guests at the bar were making friendly banter with me, discussing our lives and what we were doing in Colorado. The whole reason I like going into bars and restaurants solo is to be friendly and meet new people, and this was definitely a good place for it. I was here on a Monday at 4 on the dot, the beginning of happy hour. I'm a little high maintenance I usually never seen anything on the happy hour menu that I want so I ordered a glass of their brut Rose. However, I will say this, killer Happy hour menu! Get this, $5 draft beers, $5 manhattans or Moscow mules or margaritas, $5 house wines AND they have a beer & bubbles bucket (Hell yeah!) consisting of 3 cans of beer and 3 cans of sparkling rose for $35. That sounds like my kind of afternoon. Their happy hour eats were totally not my style; meatloaf biscuit, fried chicken biscuit, cheese curds, wings. Bar fare. Probably awesome bar fare but I was looking for some greens and I did notice they had a couple salads on their regular dinner menu but I passed, stuck with my one glass and was on my way. The dining room here is large and the bar was spacious enough also. This place was a good first stop in Boulder. I enjoyed the atmosphere the company and the delicious wine. I'd come back for buckets and bubbles with a friend for sure. More...

My friends are just mad for The Post. I've been here for late dinners, and I've been here for lunch. I'm yet to make it in for happy hour. Today my gal pal and I headed in armed with our Big Red F Local Cards (learn more here: bigredf.com/boulder-loca…).  We were excited to learn that the current promotion was a free beer! Woo hoo! A beer at lunch it is!While I was amped to go for a beer that was "86'd" the last time I was in ( the "#nofilter"), my gal pal required a little more guidance. The new manager Shawna, and new waiter Marc, made us feel right at home. Shawna brought a few tasters to the table for my friend to try. Said friend closed the deal on a very unique offering - a very dark, very smoky beer. Honestly I smelled it and visions of bbq appeared in my head. All I can say is super unique flavor and aroma. Not so much a beer for me but my friend was besides herself with glee over it.Gal pal went for one of the daily specials - 2 pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and a biscuit. I went for my favorite which is the beets & kale salad. This is no boring run of the mill salad I'll have you know. Let's start at the base which is arugula, lovingly speckled with chile roasted pecans, pickled cauliflower, and orange dressing, all served atop a generous smear of whipped goat cheese. Heaven on earth. If I'm feeling like I'd like a bit more sustenance I'll add grilled chicken, if I'm feeling sassy I'll add fried chicken.Fun tips: 1.) Snag a "Mile Fry Club" card from the hostess stand. After the first 10 punches, $10 off towards your next purchase. After 20 punches, $15 off towards your next purchase. , 2.) Like swiping left when you dine? Log into The Post's Wifi and receive an email for $10 off your next visit, 3.) Live in Boulder? Keep an eye to your door or mailbox.
