The Porch (and Alma Mexicana) catered my rehearsal dinner at The Incendiary... Paulette was so kind and helpful with recommendations. Very gracious in respecting my budget and gave excellent service throughout the process... right up to food delivery and set up. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The Porch will get my business anytime I'm feeling Tex Mex, specifically because I would give anything for their queso. Last time I was there I got the three amigos to start and let me just say you can't go wrong with their guacamole, queso or salsa. The chips are also perfectly salted. For my entree I got the Petaluma salad with portobello mushrooms and WOW it's a big serving. It's a really good bang for your buck.Pro tip: check out their weekly menu for drink specials and be sure to stop by their grab and go fridge on the way out! One of our favorite spots in town!  Delicious food and the best margaritas around.  This place is often busy, but the bar is first-come, first-serve.  If you choose to wait, you can always go down to Hoots for a pre-drink beverage and The Porch will text when your table is ready.  The specials change from month to month so we try to order from that menu often, but there are plenty of delicious tacos, burrito bowls, and salads on the main menu as well.  Service is usually good, especially for being as busy as it usually is.  We went by for lunch today, and it seemed busier than usual (likely because it was one of the few local restaurants that didn't close for Labor Day).  We opted to sit at the bar rather than wait on a table, and even though Salem (the bartender) was clearly slammed with drink orders, she did such a great job of checking in on us and keeping our drinks and chips refilled.  I highly recommend The Porch! One of the best not your typical Mexican restaurants! Always busy so make a reservation. Great different weird menu options. Awesome drinks. Lavender lemonade vodka is amazing. Margaritas also delicious and a great variety of flavors. They also make their own mixers. We had the quinoa zucchini burger, great veggie option. Tasty and huge! Dr Pepper trailer pot pie...now here's something different, nothing quite like it anywhere. They don't give you chips and salsa, which would be nice, but you can pay for it. Great atmosphere. Wow! What a find! Nestled in one of Winston Salem's old industrial areas, you will find the best Tex Mex in the entire Triad. We LOVED it! From the bright & fresh decor (primary colors pop off reclaimed wooden tables & metal surfaces with lovely handpainted floral murals) & the menu tiles on the wall to the freshest guac & cilantro infused Margos, this casual spot is true perfection. Delicious food & impeccable service! How fitting that our server was named Salem (for Shalom, meaning Peace) & she was fantastic...guided us 1st timers through the menu & just intuitively knew to bring more chips for our 3 Amigo app (Thw Freshest Guac/Queso & Salsa).  Did I mention they even have 2 double refrigerated coolers filled to the brim with Grab & Go items from entrees to soups?  Can't wait to go back & try everything.  .hear brunch is FAB as well as their desert.  We had no room after Double Margos, apps, Teddy Tostados & Sweet Pete Puffy Tacos! The food was good, but I think they need to add just a few more traditional items to their menu to make it an all around fantastic establishment. This is not a place for picky eaters, but you can also always request to not have certain things on menu items. They are very fast and the bartenders were great, and they also took care of us. They were fast at making drinks too. The only complaint was that I did not realize there were silverware in buckets on the bar so I sat there for five minutes after my food arrived thinking I just didn't get handed silverware and was waiting to get someone's attention and my husband ended up spotting it. It was our first time so I wasn't sure how everything worked. If you do not want to wait to be seated you will have to sit at the bar to avoid a longer wait. More...

Great Tex-Mex food.  I love this place. I ate here on Saturday afternoon with a friend and we had been told there would be a long wait but it wasless than 10 minutes.  Our server came over quickly and got our drink order and the wait for the food was about 15 minutes. It arrived fresh andhot. I got the Texas Pete Chicken Flautas and it was awesome. The Texas Pete was not overpowering and they were fried perfectly. My friendordered the Mayan Tacos and she said the shredded pork was tender and flavorful.  The downside is the lack of parking and the place was alittle hard to find unless you are familiar with the area. My favorite restaurant in Winston Salem! I crave this food every day of my life and LIVE for their naked burrito bowl. We've always had good service too. There was one time when a mixup with our order caused some trouble but they were so apologetic & polite & did everything they could to make it right so I couldn't possibly hold it against them. Overall good experience here at The Porch. I always have my go-to of the Texas Pete Flautas, which are incredible, but the menu offers many options for all cravings. My biggest complaint is the wait, I have yet to go here when there is not a wait. I am happy they are popular but at the same time it doesn't always seem like the wait is merited (for instance, on one occasion there were 4 open tables when we walked in and we were told a 20-30min wait). As long as you have some time, this is a great place to get good Tex Mex! P.S. you will probably need to ask for extra chips if you get the chip/dip appetizer, seriously. Also, their queso isn't the best...but! With the chorizo it is good. More...

Happy I got to try The Porch before the new year! Went with a couple friends for a weekday lunch and did not regret getting the Santa Clara Rice Bowl with Chicken. There are a lot of ingredients that I liked in this bowl. Pumpkin seeds were an interesting touch that I don't usually see.
