The Pikine Grill

was out at kids spree with the family and started getting hungry. decided to give these guys a shot as it had been a while since i had some unique food. after looking at the menu for a bit i order some brochette and took my place at the side to wait for things to cook.
a few minutes later and my food was prepped and ready, i found a seat with my wife and son and started to dig it.

pure....culinary.....art!!!
way beyond my expectations, cooked to perfection, spicy but not overpowering and so damn-flipping-GOOD!
i personally think the colorado food truck industry is amazing and Pikine is definitely up there in the ranks of some of the best in my book.
Chef David i wish you the best in business!

After visiting the Pikine Grill’s truck we decided to have them cater our wedding. We couldn’t have been more pleased! The food as well as the service were outstanding, and we heard over and over from our guests how much they enjoyed the food. David is such a great and genuine chef - not only was this food delicious but he also makes it with a lot of heart. The lamb was some of the best I've had, the blackened fish was amazing and the chicken was so tender and juicy. I recommend that you order a little of each and share with friends. The plantains with the hot West African style sauce are absolutely fabulous... I could not stop eating them and I got a second helping to take home! I also sampled the smokey lamb and chicken wings which were excellent. I was so glad to finally have Senegalese food in Broomfield. What a breath of fresh air! We loved the food so much! I want to go back again and again! This comes from a world traveler. I love to try new foods from diff cultures everywhere I go. I am so amused that I found this little gem in my own City!!!
It's also surprising how this quality of food can come from a food truck. This was actually an amazing culinary experience! This is the best new food I have ever tried!
The fish was cooked with perfection! The Fataya was light and crispy with so much flavor, I could have eaton a plate of them! The hot sauce served with it was fantastic with just the right amount of heat!

In a last minute dash to find a caterer for our wedding (ours bowed out 23 days before the event) our wedding planner recommended Chef David to handle our affair. David traveled all the way to our home and brought a sampling of his food (which was off-the-charts good) and we hired him for our big day. He impressed all our guests and our wedding went smooth. Finding authentic tasting African food is very difficult in America, but these guys have nailed it. Even if you’re unsure whether you’ll like African food, give it a try! You will not be disappointed if you like grilled meats, delicious fried plantains and my favorite, grilled lamb!

The Pikine Grill Food Truck is outstanding! The Chicken Brochette Skewers were cooked perfectly with amazing flavor and marinade (ask for hot sauce). Everything that I saw looked and smelled amazing. I went for the plantains, they were soft, sweet and done perfectly, ($3) and the Dabi, a lamb filet 3 oz, so tender in a flavorful sauce, that came with a salad and frites. As any Denverite knows, there are no shortage of food trucks in this town. I was at an event today and left my own table to grab a bite. I was overwhelmed with options and went with my initial gut desire, Pikine. David was so friendly and had great music playing. The lamb kebab (brochette) was outstanding! I can't recommend it enough. We found this food truck at Punkin Chunkin a few weeks ago. We were only looking for a quick snack not a full meal, so we got an order of frites and an order of fried plantains. While waiting for our food I got a great history lesson about West Africa, from a friend of Chef David. Frites were perfect- just like the ones we loved when we lived in Belgium- hard to find them in the US. And then the plantains- wow! The spicy sauce with the sweetness of them was amazing! I won't lie, this food truck isn't perfect, but OH MY GOD THE FOOD. ITS. SO. GOOD. I stumbled upon them in a group of trucks and figured I'd give them a shot. The line takes a bit/doesn't move super fast, so just be prepared for that. However, theirs fun music blasting and the guys in the truck are seriously so fun. You can tell they're having a great time doing this, which I think makes the experience that much better. I ordered the bruchette (like a chicken kabob, which came with fries and a salad type thing). THE FOOD IS AMAZING. I CANNOT SAY THIS ENOUGH. And I watched them cook my brochette, so you know the food you're getting is fresh. When they gave me my food they said "until we see you again" in whatever language they use (Afrikaans? I'm really not sure....) and were laughing with me as I (failed) to say it correctly. This is one of those places that leaves me saying "I can't believe that I could've gone my whole life without tasting this! "  Today they were at the DTC Hyatt and I got a delicious bowl of  Yassa, and everything I've had there has been great.  Last time I had a steak sandwhich.  Every dish is full of bold, unique flavors that send my taste buds jumping.  If you like spice, treat, "Do you want some hot sauce with that?" as a rhetorical question.  It's a great spicy sauce that leaves a little burn on the lips.  I can't describe the hot sauce flavor exactly, but it's different and delicious!  Great food truck to try! The food and customer service for Pikine was beyond phenomenal. We hosted an event to raise funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver and Chef David and Sharon were a delight. I've eaten here twice--and both times were excellent. The plantains were perfectly cooked (a slight crunch with that delicious plantain inside). And prepare to redefine your sense of "spicy."
