Absolutely fabulous experience at The Pennant. Upon arrival, our party of 4 adults + 1 toddler walked up the beautiful original stairway to the top level for lunch. We were seated immediately and the service was fabulous. Our server was friendly, attentive, and conversational throughout the entire meal.For our entrees, two of us ordered the burger flights, one ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and one ordered the fig burger. The toddler had chicken tenders, fries, and milk. Pro tip: the side orders of fries are large enough to share with two people. The burger flight was what I ordered, and WOW! They were phenomenal. Great flavor for a slider, soft buns, wonderful toppings, and huge portions. I was absolutely stuffed after the meal. Love this place!!! It absolutely satisfies any kid at heart! The food is fabulous! The pin ball machines and arcade machines from my teenage years are an absolute blast! They even have a bowling alley! I love to take nieces and nephews here, so much to do and unlike so many of the pizza joints made for kids with games, the food is actually delicious! It is also a great place for to go with someone special, just because it is such a unique place and the quality of service, food, and drinks are unbelievable! I really like what The Pennant has done with a historic building in downtown Topeka. Two floors of amusements, food and drink. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was bedlam with multiple private children's party's going on and a continuous cacophony of arcade noises, television sports sounds and children's voices echoing across a space with zero acoustics. You have been warned!We sat at the upstairs bar and ordered food. I had the Fig Vicious Burger. A large patty with grilled onions, bacon, roasted red peppers, goat cheese and fig jam; cooked medium. The Pennant is definitely a place for families! Â Us Old Farts, not so much, especially when one of us wears hearing aids and the noise is so painful unless he turns off the hearing aids, then he can't hear anyone talking to him! Â So ignoring the fun and noise families and kids are making, the food was terrific. Â Those garlic parm fries, AMAZING!!! Â We didn't want that much to eat, so split a slider flight! Â And thank goodness we only ordered the side of fries...couldn't eat them all!! Â How big must a regular order be!!! Yikes! I am so glad I found this Topeka gem. It was across the street from my hotel and it looked happenin' so I stepped in for take out and beer. Local beer selection on tap was awesome and Tim took his time to tell me about them all and go over the menu in detail to highlight some amazing vegetarian options. There is a small vintage bowling alley in the back and the whole atmo was just cool and unique. I got talking with bartender Tyler and apparently it was just all renovated a year ago...they did a standout job...looks like it has been there forever. THE place to hang out with friends. This place offers a fun night out with or without your kids. The location is great and they have just about everything you need for a fun evening out. First level has a more upscale feel to it. Then at the back portion of the first level they have some lanes for bowling. The second level is great and full of retro video games. Although I did find myself looking down at the skeeball machine for tickets after I had a good game, lol. The games included Frogger, Pac-man, Ms. Pac-man, Galaga, Donkey Kong and more. The manager Kyle is super welcoming and helpful with any questions. We didn't eat here but the service is good and we look forward to visiting again. Fun and tasty place in downtown Topeka. We ordered the BBQ chicken wings (yum!), the mushroom burger (super yum!) and the veggie quinoa-beet burger (good for a veggie burger). The milkshakes are crazy delish!! The cookies & cream shakes comes with a frozen Oreo bar on top. Next time, I'll try "The Dude". Service was prompt and fine. What a gem in downtown Topeka! We met the grandparents for our son's birthday party, and we all had fun I would love to come back for a date night or just a fun night out with friends. Every time I go the food is great the people are so friendly. I enjoy being able to get different local beers. I love the fries. Great burgers! I love a burger joint that cooks them the way you want it versus having to grill them to the point of hockey pucks. Service was amazing. Fun place to eat downtown with excellent burgers and chocolate shakes. We tried the bowling on our second visit and had a great time. We've now been the Pennant about a half dozen times. I just got back from having lunch at The Pennant. Â It was my first time there and I was impressed. Â The room is bright and airy. Â At the time I got there 11:45 a.m. It was full of diners, yet the noise level was not objectionable--in other words, you could hear yourself think or your companion talk.My waiter was friendly, attentive but not hovering, knowledgeable, competent, and he was quick with a suggestion.I had their classic hamburger and classic fries. Â Both were well cooked. Â The hamburger was flavorful and juicy. Â The toppings were good and added a lot to the burger. Â The fries were thin and had a coating that made them crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside. Â The total bill came to $11+tax. Â The menu is not huge. Â It has numerous hamburger iterations as well as a few other sandwiches. First time here. Really enjoyed it! We had the Thai Cauliflower as an appetizer. It was spicy and delicious. The peanut dipping sauce was perfect with it. For dinner I had the Cubano and it was very good. My wife had the Pollo Loco sandwich and she solved it. The fries pictured here are very good. Sweet potato with a marshmallow drizzle. Amazing food! All of the fry choices are way too good. I normally get the not your mamas Cesar salad and it's so yummy!! !!! The ice cream is good too. The overall atmosphere is great. Visited this establishment after a long day of travel.  Restaurant is very clean and I was greeted immediately upon entering and seated right away. My server was very friendly and made sure everything was ok. Reason for only 4 stars  By the time my food arrived everything was COLD. I ordered the Burger sampler and Cheesy fries. We LOVE the Pennant! Â Have been here a few times now and each time is excellent! Â The staff is great and manager on duty is always on top of things and checks with patrons for satisfaction. The venue is super clean and very well laid out. The servers are very kind and attentive. Did not get to try the milkshakes but they all look delicious! ! I ordered the bourbonator, it was very tasty meat, nice quality, but with everything together it was kind of soggy and too much breading. The original burger again was very plain, non wow worthy but it was decent quality meat. The cheese curls (curly fries with cheese and bacon) were great! The restaurant has very fun and comfy vibes located near the Capitol Building. Our server Joey was prompt and friendly, along with the rest of the staff. You can go bowling or play other arcade games while you enjoy the delicious food. The portion sizes are generous! It will leave you full and satisfied. I had the salmon filet burger and it was cooked perfectly. A couple friends of mine played them retro video games there, we had a blast by the way. I know Pennant has food and all, we didn't have the food since it was too expensive.
