Very cute restaurant! We stopped because it looked adorable on the outside and the inside is just as quaint. The butter for the rolls is infused with maple and oh my gosh was it amazing. Not overly sweet, just enough for taste. I ordered clam chowder which was very good! Tons of flavor and super creamy. I also ordered a salad which again had a ton of flavor. Everything on the plate was super fresh which is sometimes hard to find. My husband ordered the surf and turf burger which was also very good! Overall, I would highly recommend. Also, staff was super friendly and helpful! More...

I want to thank The Old Salt, Sara and the entire staff for saving our wedding day. We had plans at another facility that feel through; called them literally 3 days and they made it all happened. They did an amazing job for such a short notice. We had 54 guest coming, suppose to very casual, and they went way above and beyond. The wait staff was amazing, the food was impeccable, the whole experience is beyond belief. I still think about the whole thing and am in complete ahhhh. From the initial conversations, to the menu planning, having printed menus, dropping the cake off, the table arrangement, the FOOD was amazing, the handling of the bills, this far EXCEEDED my expectations. Again HUGE thank you. You will definitely see us again. More...

Delicious food (steak cooked to perfection that melts in your mouth, fresh, perfectly prepared seafood, as well as traditional menu selections such as burgers, chicken, vegetarian and pasta dishes, served up in a historical, rustic building with a wood burning fireplace and the smell and feel of an old world tavern. A friendly, knowledgeable staff, a full bar, and is attached to Lamie's Inn, featuring cozy rooms that make you feel as if you've travelled back in time. Never a disappointment. Make a reservation as it tends to fill up quickly. Plenty of free parking. Conveniently located on Route 1 in Hampton, NH, minutes from Hampton Beach. More...

Went here this morning for an event. It was during the Sunday brunch buffet. The selection was amazing, the food was hot and fresh, and there was a four tier chocolate fountain. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. There were tons of people but everyone got sat, ate, and left pretty quickly. The lunch and dessert selections were constantly changing offering multiple carving stations. I give this Sunday brunch buffet two thumbs up. More...

Amazing! That's the best word to describe the building, the atmosphere, the food, and the staff. We have been here several times because the clam chowder is one of our favorites! The creamiest by far we have ever had. If you're in town and looking for the best seafood offerings, stop by! The history is amazing within the building and the food is just beyond yummy! You won't be disappointed More...

We eat here regularly. Good home style cooking with other upscale choices as well at fair and reasonable prices. The Friday night all you can eat fish fry is one of the best you’ll ever have! In the winter they have a fire in their fireplace which adds to the nice ambiance. Definitely a keeper! More...

Wow! Great service (we had a reservation, which I recommend). Great food. Really big portions. I had fish and chips - THE BEST tartar sauce EVER! fish and chips is my testing a restaurant dish. They passed with flying colors and set a new bar. My daughter had tortellini - her daughter stole half of them. My husband loved his fried clams, my in laws enjoyed their food as well. More...

Great place. Delicious food. Only reason it's a 4 star is because the tips were too fatty for my liking. Great service, no wait. Very cozy and inviting.

This restaurant has been a local favorite for us for a long time now. They have a broad selection of food that caters to pretty much anyone, no matter what their diet may be. I'm currently vegetarian, and they have a decent selection for me. The have good seafood, good meat options, and even gluten-free things. I even tried liver and onions here a few years back, for the first time no less, and was very impressed. Good for groups, good for one or two! More...

The food is pretty decent and the waitress that waited on me was very nice. The people that seem to go there was another story. They made it seem like the Old Salt restaurant is some high-class Society place. A lot of people acted as if they were better than other people. The restaurant overall is a nice place to go if you don't mind dealing with loud stuck-up snobby people. I've met homeless people in Boston with more class then some of these jerks sad to say. Great food & ambiance

Lots of wood paneling. Excellant wait service. Not cheap. $90 for dinner for two with a couple of very nice cocktails. And a shared desert. Go for it!

Their bacon wrapped scallops are awesome! Au gratin is my favorite to order but I've never had a bad meal here. I like the atmosphere here because of the wooden beams and mood lighting. Sad their lobster pops aren't barley anymore. They now taste like cough syrup. More...

The food was delicious. Baked haddock was cooked perfectly, as were the fresh vegetables, and was a good size portion. My son enjoyed his chicken tenders, and we agreed on how good the rice pilaf was. Excellent service in a comfortable, rustic New England atmosphere. More...
