I cannot say enough about the customer service from The New Leaf. In a bind, with late notice of a funeral service, I called at nearly 3pm to request a sympathy arrangement for a 7pm viewing. At least 10 other florists in the area (several that were in closer proximity to the funeral home) could not accommodate the request. The New Leaf stepped up and graciously took my order, walked me through a concept for the arrangement; they worked their magic and delivered a beautiful arrangement of lilies and roses by 4pm. Fabulous local florist that knows the industry and understands customers' needs; they went above and beyond on a recent order for a friend that lost a loved one.  At first visit, Sara and James were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.  My vague wishes: "she likes low maintenance, maybe an orchid or an arrangement in the $75 range."  She offered to create a fresh and unique arrangement in summer colors AND have an orchid dressed so I could choose; she even ok'd pickup outside of their normal hours.  Turns out, I ended up needing it a day sooner...and they came through, calling to update me when needed.  At pick-up, James said "I saw this peach double orchid and knew it was for your friend."  That's personalized service at its finest! I called New Leaf today, based on other good reviews, to have them deliver flowers to my mother for Mother's Day.  The people on the phone were so pleasant and nice.  My mother called later to say she had just been delivered a GORGEOUS/ARTFUL arrangement by the NICEST man.  The delivery person was very kind and solicitous toward my 94-year-old mother, and that part of the experience was so meaningful to her as well.  So I thank all of the good people at New Leaf.  They will be the first place I go if I ever need flowers in Norfolk again. I called The New Leaf from out of state after getting off the phone with a loved one in VB who was having a bad day.  They let me know that their delivery driver was already on his way back for the day, but put me on hold while they called to see if he'd be able to make an additional stop.  They stock their van with a few extra arrangements everyday, just for situations like mine.  My sister texted me 15 minutes later to let me know she received her beautiful arrangement.  Thank you for your great service! I placed an order on September 26th for a September 27th delivery. The woman on the phone knew exactly how to help pick out an arrangement based on the occasion. I guess standard procedure is to call ahead to make sure the person will be there, but I wanted the delivery to be a surprise, so even though I consented to calling ahead anyway, the woman helping me offered to take the flowers home with her that evening and keep them, and then deliver them herself the following morning on her way to work. What a charming floral shoppe in the West Ghent area of Norfolk. It was my 2nd visit here in about 4 months as I was in town for a not so celebratory occasion, yet needed florals. I had a connection to this shoppe the 1st time, so it was a no brainer to visit them again.Small in size but this place has large character. Modern style mixed with luxurious flowers and design. Yes, the floral designers/creators can make the tradition flowers of yester years but what made me stop in was their creative composition of creating contemporary florals that encompassed textures and elements that made them more unique than some of their contemporaries.Even more impressive with me was the interpersonal skills and customer service of Sarah & Laurel. Personable and engaging with an eye for detail to create your vision when giving them a modest description of what I wanted. And it's always a plus when a business owner remembers you from a previous sell, especially when you are not a resident of the area.My request was for 6 corsages with white flowers with a royal blue ribbon and each had to be unequalled expressing their own character. They nailed it on the head. I had requested to pick them up the next day at a later time but was in the area in the late morning and called to see if they could accommodate an early pick up. I recently found myself needing to buy flowers for my sister-in-law one day before her birthday. I called that Friday morning and they had an arrangement ready by noon. I knew from their website that their work was not the run of the mill carnations in a coffee cup. My only input in the order was that the arrangement be colorful and within my budget. The result was a stunning, unique arrangement. My sister-in-law loved them. The only problem was that I had no answer when she asked me what the different flowers were.
