My experience at The Montford Rooftop Bar was divine. The sunset view was elegant, the atmosphere was pleasant, and my food topped off the whole experience. After a wonderful day at the Biltmore estate, my wife and I took the elevator to the rooftop bar called the Montford.I have a dietary restriction and Ben, who greeted us on arrival spoke with the sous chef and made sure I was taken care ofThe wedge salad, my wife and I both ordered was not your every day hunk of iceberg and a few sprinkles of bacon, it was a bed of fresh bib lettuce, small chunks of very smokey bacon, 2 halves of a gooey egg, and a real favorite of mine, marinated cherry tomatoes all dressed perfectly. My main course was a pork shoulder flat bread with Alabama BBQ sauce ( a white mayonnaise based sauce) sparingly drizzled on top of the pork.My wife had a pimento cheese platter that she said was wonderful.I had a local IPA and my wife a Pino Noir.We sat outside on the rooftop, with a pleasant breeze keeping us cool.A great meal, wonderful atmosphere, good food and beverage and great service by Ben. Stopped here to grab something to eat and drink and enjoy the view of the sunset. This was great. The bar has both an indoor and outdoor area for seating. The staff was also very helpful and gave great recommendations. I enjoyed some local beers, which they had a good selection. Their cocktails were also impressive and looked great from others who ordered them. I also tried the pimento cheese tray which was homemade and came with amazing pickles & prosciutto and crackers & bread to spread it on. It was a large plate and filling for 1 or great for sharing. Loved the ambiance and the view. Sat at the bar and let our creative mixologist Kendra do her thing. Our drinks were wonderful but very expensive. Be sure to ask how much the upcharge is for certain spirits. As an example, my old fashion made with Pikesville Rye was $19. All of the apps that we tried were terrific. Fresh tomato and mozzarella flatbread, tator tots and meatballs. Would definitely return but will be more cautious when ordering drinks. Almost $100 for 4 drinks and 3 apps before adding a tip. I'm visiting family in Asheville and I asked them to take me to a rooftop bar. Without hesitation they took me to Montford Rooftop Bar. The view was beautiful! The bar was a full bar which was great! I ended up getting the urban cider. The drink was good. The atmosphere was very nice. The bar itself was pretty small and intimate. Great place for an after dinner drink or two. Went last night around 5:30. The place was busy but not crowded. They have a pretty good selection of quality whiskey (my favorite) as well as beers. The Montford - when visiting Asheville it's a must do.After almost a year of living here (and getting a babysitter and no Marvel movies are out) we headed here for the remainder of our night out. Friday night, perfect weather... Complimentary valet parking, thank you Jesus, because any city's downtown parking is a pain. We arrived around 7pm and seemed to have gotten the last two seats by the open window. What perfect timing because it got PACKED just 15 minutes later.Husband ordered a beer (um... it was dark {says the non beer drinker}) and I ordered a peach cocktail.Asking the waitress if it was a good choice - I'm not a fan of the liquor taste, preferring a bloody mary or a mudslide - she confirmed, saying it was really good. It was a good choice.After finishing we ordered the chocolate cake. The kitchen took quite a while, which was fine because it meant we were able to stay, guilt free, to watch the sunset at 8:45.Validated our valet ticket and happy we got the chance to visit an Asheville landmark. This was a beautiful place with an amazing view! I came in for a drink and a snack. We opted to sit inside because it was an unusually hot day. We got to sit right by the windows though and enjoy the scenery. The flatbread was amazing!!!!! I should've ordered two, it was just that good. I was very surprised as to how much I enjoyed it. A MUST-GO place if you're hanging out in Asheville. A beautiful spot to sit and relax with a couple of friends (or even solo! ). There's plenty of seating and a super amazing place to watch the sunset. We went around an hour before the sunset and they opened up all the doors and windows so that everyone could get a great view. We ordered some drinks but they were subpar. The tater tots though - heavenly! Our server mentioned that they were made in-house, but I didn't expect much prior to the taste test. I found it strange that it was paired with beets ketchup as I am not a huge fan of beets; however, it was simply amazing. You can't taste the beets at all and it was a nice, vibrant color. I'm also not a huge fan of tater tots but these were out of the world fantastic. It's not your typical bar-like tots. They're really soft and full of flavor. 10/10 would recommend! More...

Great atmosphere and views for a cocktail anytime! We ordered 3 cocktails and had a some great views before dinner in Asheville. The service was a bit slow, and there was a decent amount of seating open, so I do not understand why the service was the way it was. That is why I only give the Montford 4 stars. Also, there were probably 3-5 young kids (~7-10 yrs old) there with their parents during our visit, so be aware of that. Granted, we were there between 5:30-6:15pm, before dinner. So, maybe this is a normal thing, but I don't generally expect to see young children at a bar. Although, I have to say the parents made sure they behaved and were well mannered. The cocktails and views were excellent! I could only imagine seeing a sunset from here! I had the Bardstown Bower. I would recommend stirring the bitters into the cocktail before enjoying. My first few sips were bitter (lol), but after stirring to get the full desired flavor, the cocktail was superb. What a wonderful discovery!  We really enjoyed our visit to the Montford Rooftop Bar.  We have to give a shoutout to our fantastic waitress Kendra!  She made us feel so welcome and took great care of us and a large portion of the patio all at the same time.  Our service was prompt and we never had to wait long for food or drink- even though it was busy!  We stayed to watch the sunset and really enjoyed the view! It's one of the best in town.  We ordered Margarita's and Kendra asked if we like them flavored- as they have some delicious flavored bitters that can customize your cocktail!  Winner!!!  The cheese board and flatbread pizza were both delicious. Second time to the rooftop at sunset. This place has great views and eats. ShyAnne was wonderful and all her recommendations were top notch! Definitely get the bison meatballs and can't go wrong with the Syrah. Get there probably around 5-6 to snag a seat before the sun starts to descend otherwise be prepared to stand like us since we arrived 7:50pm. Not a big deal as everyone else is looking for a spot too and people dining easily ask you if you want their seats as they sign their checks. Definitely worth the standing wait. More...
