Sometimes, we're stuck facing an important decision, and individually thinking it through  - even from all angles - doesn't quite cut it. We need someone with unique perspective that can guide us towards the best path and coach us to make tough calls. That was exactly why I came to Will at The MBA Way. I work for a Fortune 100 company and have an MBA in Marketing. I've been fortunate to have built a career and the respect of others. Recently, I was approached by a Marketing Manager in my company about a job opening that needed to be filled quickly. I'd been happy in my currently role for 8 months, but this new opportunity seemed really diverse and would make me a more well-rounded marketer. I struggled trying to make the right choice: do I apply, do I let it go, will there be another chance later, should I jump on it now?! That's where Will came in. Working with Will is amazing. I attended undergrad at Stanford, which provided me with an amazing education and alumni network to tap into. However, I was taught how to leverage that network and take my applications to the next level. He also can help with your resume, essays, and interviews when applying to graduate schools. Will offers career coaching heading into the application process, which helps already strong candidates as well as those needing a boost. It doesn't matter how strong of a candidate you are, it always helps to have a knowledgeable third party guiding you through the process and helping you reflect on any obstacles you encounter along the way. A few years after graduating with a bachelors from UCLA and an MFA from Loyola Marymount with all the ambition in the world, I found myself stuck in a cycle of similar TV entertainment jobs that sounded envious on paper but left me feeling listless and defeated. Will helped me take a step back and look at the bigger picture of where I wanted to go, and why I wanted to be a creative in the entertainment industry in the first place. He helped me revamp my outdated resume and with how to develop a networking strategy to get me contacts at the target companies that would be more in line with my goals and values. Will is so good at what he does! I thought I had a decent enough resume, but after seeing one that Will created for a friend of mine, I was blown away and decided to have him update mine too! I sent Will my existing resume (which, btw, I'd already spent SO much time trying to perfect) and he turned it into a completely new, beautiful version that is way beyond anything I could've created on my own. My new resume knocks my old one out of the park!Will made it extremely visually appealing, but on top of that, he also streamlined the text portion to be clear, concise, and compelling.I'd spent hours trying to shorten the bullet points listing out things I'd done at previous jobs, but somehow Will found a way to take my descriptions to the next level and make what I did at each job sound more impressive without exaggerating at all.I was so happy with how it all looked that I had Will create a matching branded cover letter to go with my resume. I didn't even know matching cover letters were a thing, but I love the one he made and will only be using that template from here on out!I know there are probably tons of people out there who build resumes, but I cannot recommend Will or his quality of work enough! I worked with Will when I was applying to law school and have continued to work with him since as I apply for jobs. He's been an asset the whole way through. He's knowledgeable, flexible, and willing to work at my speed.For school applications, Will knows what it takes to create a stand-out application, identify your most marketable skills, and promote yourself--which was initially tough for me. When I graduated from UCSD, I went straight into a conventionally awesome engineering job. It had great pay, perks, and overall, looked great on paper. Will helped me when I was applying for masters programs for grad school and he was super knowledgeable about what would make me a competitive candidate. After I finished my bachelors, it took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do next. Will helped me process my goals with different exercises, and eventually I realized my passion was working with students, so I went back to school for a masters in education. He then guided me through the application process, prepped me for interviews, and honestly just gave me the confidence I needed to make sure I was putting my best foot forward. After I got accepted and finished my program, he helped review my cover letters and resume for jobs and I got the first job I interviewed for, which was the perfect job for me right out of grad school. Will has been an amazing source of advice, resource and continuous help throughout my career change. I've wanted to transition from Entertainment PR to Sports PR for years, which is no easy task, and Will was the first one to help me perfect a standout resume, and prep me through interview questions and even job search. He is extremely resourceful and will make this usually painful process an enjoyable ride. It was pretty amazing to see how much he knew about each individual career path; he knew what the entertainment world wanted to see in prospect employees, as much as he knew how to make my resume appeal to the sports world. Working with Will was easily one of the best decisions I made for my career!
