I hope this place will be shut down for their dishonesty.
Carlo and Steve are rude and dishonest people.

I think this woman is being dishonest since she didn't put the whole story in her "review."

Not a good place for dogs and volunteers. Dishonest and rude people work there. I wanted to volunteer there. I completed dogs walking training. The same day I volunteered there for 2 hours walking dogs. I came again in the morning in a few days. Steve was not there. Carlo is a very strange and rude person. He yelled at me and was extremely rude. He must have disliked me for some reasons. Something really bad must have happened in his life, so he has become so aggressive towards people, even those who volunteer to help dogs. People like him should not work/ own at dogs rescues. After my shift was over he has complained to Steve about me, and Steve texted me that I could not walk dogs any more due to inability to follow directions.
I need a document showing that I have volunteered for certain hours. And before coming to training I was confirmed that that document would be given to me if I passed dogs walking training session.
When I asked Steve through text message to provide me with that document he stopped responding right away.
Very dishonest people. I Would not recommend volunteering there or adopt from there.
Poor dogs who are trapped there with such owners.

This brand new volunteer was going into the rooms and the runs without permission, during the shifts. She was warned three times to stop because we didn't want her to get hurt and safety is our #1 priority. This morning she kept ignoring our rules, so she was told she was not allowed her back. It was done politely and in a nice way, but perhaps she’s used to getting her way, but we cannot have volunteers who do not listen and put themselves, the dogs and others in harms way.

I am SO upset with Neil @ Little Red Dog. We had an interview, "our" dog had puppies so we were instructed to wait 24-48 hours and someone would reach out for interview #2. Crickets.... Until we got an email about fostering a dog with a leg issue. Yes I would BUT I have 2 sets of stairs and let them know. NOTHING.... 1 week.... Email for status.
This was the response: "Sienna found her forever family, which is great! We still have many wonderful dogs available for adoption here: https://thelittlereddog.org/dogs-to-adopt"

Thanks,

Sean

REALLY? This is how you work with individuals that want to adopt? Not a problem. I am SOOO happy for Sienna but saddened for all the other dogs that will sit and wait until these people learn how to respond.

SHAMEFUL. Hasta Never.

There is no Neil in our rescue, nor has there even been a Neil.

I went to the TLRD website to set up a monthly donation and saw alot of Negative reviews so I felt like I had to leave a positive one. We adopted Zeus from TLRD in January 2019 and he has forever changed our lives. Our experience was great! I filled out the application online and received email confirmation almost immediately and then a follow up phone call and meet and greet within a few days. Stephanie was Zeus's foster mom and she was awesome thru the process of us adopting him. After adopting him I had questions and they always responded within a few hours. I do believe they have the pups best interest at heart so I give my experience 5 stars More...

What a fantastic experience we had adopting our new furry family member! Steve puts the dogs first and makes sure they are the perfect fit for each family. Both Steve and PJ were so helpful and made the experience that much better. Highly recommend! More...

I have both fostered and adopted from The Little Red Dog and know first hand how they treat people. If you have the best interest of the dogs at heart, you're not going to be bothered by direct questions. If on the other hand, you just want the cute little puppy/dog and are not in a stable environment or are too young or immature, you are definitely not going to like hearing no. They take care of the dogs first and that's how it should be. They are EXACTLY how a rescue should be. They have their dogs backs for their entire life, without hesitation. Rescue is hard work, it's emotional work. People throw their pets away like they're garbage and TLRD can't save all of them. The next time you think wow how rude. STOP! You have no idea what they have been through that day. Did a sick puppy die, that some heartless owner threw in a dumpster. Did they just get a call from someone that they can no longer keep the dog they adopted because of any one of a million lame excuses (some are not lame but a lot are). More...

My family and I were looking to add to our Family and rescue a dog. After searching several rescues online and viewing many different sites we finally selected the perfect dog from The Little Red Dog Rescue. The Staff of Volunteers are Amazing and the Experience was Awesome! We are so Blessed to have worked with the men and women who assisted us in the rescue process. If you are considering a rescue dog please give The Little Red Dog Rescue serious consideration.

I adopted via The Little Red Dog last month and the experience has been nothing but positive. Prior to coming across TLRD, I had reached out to many other rescues via email or by completing applications without receiving replies. TLRD, however, replied to me within 24 hours and the excellent communication continued throughout the adoption process.

Also, they make great use of technology to quickly and easily complete adoption contracts, make the adoption donation, etc.

All in all, I was in communication with five representatives of TLRD who handled different aspects of the process and all of them were great to work with. I've been in communication with them for different reasons following the adoption and the level of response continues to be excellent.

I plan to recommend them whenever I hear of someone looking to provide a forever home!

There was a dog with 48 hours before a high kill shelter was euthanizing....3 year old, healthy terrier, adoptable. Within 12 hours my fostering request was answered via a phone call and this rescue stepped in to spare this terrier’s life . This organization is dog centered ! They are the voice for the voiceless. PJ is direct and upfront and I really appreciate that. She works hard for the dogs so she can't waste time sugar coating what needs to be done. She helped me find a wonderful home for a sweet little puppy that was rejected twice before. I could go on but the bottom line is that red dog matches the right owner to the right dog. More...

I was very pleased at the adoption process and all the volunteers made it so easy. I am now blessed with a new little dog named Cara. I changed it from Clara to Cara. Love her to pieces. Thank you all for the excellent work you do to save these beautiful animals. God bless you all. Theresa Zeigler More...

I think it is import to see that many of the one star reviews are left with vague or no comments at all. These were most likely left by people who were denied an adoption which is exactly why I am leaving a 5 star review. This shelter is only concerned with assigning animals with forever homes rather than just moving animals out of their facility. We were lucky enough to EARN the ability to adopt a wonderful puppy from here but the process was not easy. Do not think that you just pay a fee here and get an animal, the process is not easy and I am glad there are people like this in the world trying to solve the problem of animal overpopulation, abuse, and neglect. After losing our love, Chewy, last October to cancer, with virtually no advance warning, we were devastated. Chewy was the heartbeat of our home. After a few months we started thinking maybe we could give all of that love to a new pup so we checked out the Little Red Dog’s website as they came highly recommended. I thought that if only I had a new puppy to cuddle and love that it would ease the pain of losing my sweet boy. All of that love needed to go somewhere, right? So we saw a couple of really cute puppies on their website and just fell in love with their photos so we contacted the Little Red Dog Rescue to start the adoption process which I could tell was going to be lengthy and involved. I was so excited. Well, we didn’t end up with a new puppy and I couldn’t be more thankful to this rescue organization as it was only because of their process that we came to realize that we actually were NOT ready at all to welcome a new dog into our home so we decided to wait. If it had been a quick and easy adoption process as in “here’s some money now give me my dog”, we would most likely have a disaster on our hands and be feeling stressed out and unhappy with a new puppy that demanded tons of attention and time. We just weren’t ready. So I’m giving The Little Red Dog Rescue all the stars I’m allowed to give because their process saved us from making a terrible decision. We are still grieving the loss of our boy and one day, after I stop crying and walking around with a huge lump in my throat we will give them a call and start the process again, but not for awhile. THANK YOU Little Red Dog Rescue for caring more about the pups as well as your potential adopters than you do about putting dollars in your pockets. I only wish all rescues cared as much as you guys do and were willing to do the real work involved with finding and securing the right home for each dog. More...

I have been a Dog Trainer for over 15 years and have worked with many shelters and rescues. The team at The Little Red Dog is one of the finest! Their organization recruits volunteers and sponsors and has saved HUNDREDS of dogs from kill shelters. Every dog is saved, taken for whatever medical care is needed, trained, given a loving foster home and then found the perfect forever home.If you are a dog lover and want to work with people who are REALLY making the Puppy Planet better, these are the people for you!
