The Zen of Kite Boarding! Take the lessons! You won't regret it. It's awesome and Kurt is a wealth of knowledge. He not only teaches you the basics of kite boarding, but also how to read the waves and wind and tides and keep you safe and flying high! GO FOR IT!!!

Kurt is awesome! I found him via Yelp and the kite lesson was well worth the time and money. It was super fun and I learned a lot. I had only played with a trainer kite in the past and Kurt was great at teaching me the basics of kite surfing. I will definitely go back for more lessons because I have a lot more to learn. After the lesson, Kurt sent me a summary of what I learned during the day and I found this super helpful.Here is what I learned - as a total noob, in 3 hours:* Preparing Kite Gear* Wind window* Power Zone* Kite control* Power Up, De-Power, Let Out* Launching, Landing * Kite Crash, Re-Launching* Safety Releases 1 & 2* Safety for others around you* Hand Signals* Pop-Ups* Double Dips * High and DryI really recommend taking a lesson with Kurt. Had a great lesson with Kurt today. I came in with 0 experience and by the end of the lesson felt very comfortable flying the kite. If you have never kite boarded before you will want a lesson because it is not something you want to try to pick up on your own as it can be very dangerous. These kites are a lot more powerful then you would think and you need to learn how to control it. Highly recommend Kurt for any beginners wanting to learn this awesome sport. More...
