What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
There really isn't a secret to keeping a crowd dancing and having a good time. If your group is in a good mood, enjoying themselves and feeling alright, the party crowd will dance all night.
Sometimes the group needs some motivation, a spark to get them to come out. This is where we rely on feedback from the guests (requests) and from our clients. We always invite our clients to supply us with requests. We also ask for a 'no play' list so that once a crowd gets out there, we want to encourage them (musically) to dance the night away!
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Our 'style' is usually laid back. We don't scream into microphones, do crazy antics or any of that stuff. If you want good music, we can do that. If you want participation we do that as well. Lead the crowd doing the cha-cha slide? No problem. Want to have four hours of your favorite artist and music? Ok, you got it.
What we are saying is that our style reflects your event. Whether you want low-key entertainment or group participation we have been there and done that for over forty years.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping to make memories for my clients. Seeing the crowd on their feet dancing. Playing a special song for someone at a party that makes their night unique. The wife and husband celebrating their anniversary dancing to their first song, the surprised look on a relative's face when they walk in totally surprised that the birthday party is for them, the dance moves a six year old makes at the party that twenty years from now will be used in a collage at their wedding. Having people comment on our performance which they enjoyed. These moments bring us the satisfaction that we have done our job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The Jades started out as an A Capella group. We migrated to a band and eventually a DJ company. Our passion for music has kept us involved in the entertainment industry since 1975!

There are many DJ companies out there. All of them should do a good job. Some of those companies have been in business a couple of years. The JadesDJ has over forty years experience in the DJ/entertainment business. That experience benefits you by providing experience, reliability, and most of all-trust. Companies in business as long as we have must be doing something right. Our clients have always referred us to their friends and associates (we began our business with word-of-mouth) and now with the Internet, we have opened up a new market for our services. Our prices are competitive, our service is reliable, and our DJs are knowledgeable. We offer you the best value for your entertainment dollar. As a DJ service, our focus has always been performing before a live audience. Doing so remotely is not part of our brand.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
As this year has been a unique challenge for the live entertainment segment, we have chosen shows that are not indoor-type events. We have entertained car shows, and have done some outdoor birthday and graduation events. Clients have also voiced their concerns regarding events that have been cancelled due to venues closing down. We have worked with them to accommodate any changes to their venue and/or the date of their event that needs to take place.
