We recently just celebrated our wedding reception at the Inn at Reading. The food and cake was delicious and they planned and set up everything as I asked! I dropped off all items a few days before and everything was set just as I imagined. The planning was stress free and we all had an amazing time. I would recommend the Inn at Reading. More...

Pet friendly rooms, nice large rooms with refrigerators and coffee pots. Breakfast was fantastic and the price was excellent! Beds are super comfortable and no bugs is always a huge plus.Gave 4 stars as one staff person manning the front desk for everything is not enough. Wait is too long when calling for a reservation. Our friend from out of state commented on the nice size, good condition and great price of their room.Highly recommend at least one more front desk staff!! More...

Great. Really awesome experience. The female cast members were better than the males. But really cool overall.

Always a fun time, I go every year and have a blast. Highly suggest going the week before Halloween as the crowds have died down and you can get into everything pretty quick. If you do the Zombie Mud Run watch your step as it is uneven terrain and can be slick. More...

Great for teenagers! I hated that it was pitch black at some points cause I got a little lost, but it makes the experience scarier haha. It was super fun and loved the actors. -Have a friend to hang onto-Be cautious of flashing lights.-Wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.-The actors WILL touch you, you will be told in advance. It’s a part of their job.I wouldn’t recommend this for older adults or those who have problems walking. More...

I haven't been to a Haunted Halloween attraction in years, but this was incredible. We had the best time, and it was totally worth the price to see the four attractions we visited. They had some great food options, and many different beverage choices. I highly recommend visiting this! More...

My friends and I go to these haunts every year and we’re never terribly impressed in the sense that we don’t scare easily. Most of the time we stroll brazenly through haunted houses and smile at the actors. We appreciate them, but are never made to feel scared. The hurdle to overcome is that you know the actors pose no real threat to you and so your immersion is gone. Shocktoberfest was- in a word- incredibleWe bought the RIP all access pass so we could do everything. We started our night on the hayride. It was engaging, comfortable, fast paced, but also slow? Let me explain. While the hayride doesn’t move all that slowly, the tension building up between scenes is incredible. Sometimes the truck just stops you in the dark woods and lets it be quiet. We never really knew when someone was coming at us, especially since there were so many places -even on the sets- that the actors could come from. Something across the board this haunt does very well is pace the scares. They know when to jump out and when not to. They have faux doors that look indistinguishable from the ones the actors use. Sometimes they were so still it was hard to tell what was a dummy and what was an actor. Next we did the zombie laser tag. A blast to be sure! So much fun and a nice, tense, little break from the scares. While there are zombies roaming around that you have to shoot, you’re mostly battling your opposing team. Tactically hiding behind waist high and 7ft high cover to annihilate your opponents and having to go to respawn points as well as go to the base to reload. So much fun. Shocktoberfest has a lot of attractions and has a lot to offer, but we ended our night in the Prison of the Dead. We had more options after this attraction, but we were so shaken by the performance and atmosphere in the prison we had to leave after because we all had chest pain and couldn’t catch our breath. I won’t spoil this but the prison of the dead in and of itself is worth every penny of admission. The actors are incredible, the maze is disorienting and employs both a crazy layout and sensory depravation- not to mention the close quarters. It was somewhere we never felt safe. I screamed, I jumped, heck I fell over in fear. It was a heart pounding and jaw dropping experience. The folks at Shocktoberfest did one hell of a job with this one. You absolutely must go to the prison of the dead if you make your way to sinking spring Kudos Shocktoberfest team. It was well worth the 90 minute drive and $70 admission for sure. (We were paranoid about someone jumping out at us the whole way home) ABSOLUTELY take your spooky season fun to Shocktoberfest More...

I was there for the music. Awesome lineup. Defiant and Penntera. The rest of the Metal Bands were great. Food is reasonable and was pretty good. No ATM. Only 1 place by the hay ride accepted pay with card for food. You can buy alcohol there and take your receipt to the beer vendor. More...

I had a wonderful time with my boyfriend. We did the main 3 attractions (hay ride, prison, and unknown 2.0). I recommend the add on for paintball. If I had extra money I would have opted for the VIP as the lines were long. Overall, had a good time. More...

Shocktoberfest was a fantastic time. I’ve been to tons of haunted attractions across PA and this has definitely made the top of my list. The hayride had some very cool sets and animatronics. It wasn’t terribly scary by any means but definitely a fun time. The zombie paintball definitely helped make it better. The prison was very cool and I definitely jumped quite a few times (which is rare). There was some missed opportunities mostly because of sections with few actors but it was very enjoyable. The unknown 2.0 was short but very cool. It was a great concept with some great scares. Overall, I highly recommend the experience. More...

There is so much to do and see here. From the Hayride, where we got to take on the zombies with paint ball guns, to the prison tour, and other great mazes that led us through pitch black corridors that we had to feel our way through, all the while being chased and scared by the awesome zombie actors. Laser tag against the other guests and even more zombies. Definitely worth the price, even with the upgrades... just be sure to get there on time! More...
