I made a reservation in advance to come here on one Sunday and so glad I was able to try this place out! We came there for an anniversary and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I loved all of the food that we ate, particularly the truffle fries, butter cake, and wagyu filet. I thought the food was all reasonably priced and you could tell all the ingredients were very fresh. Will definitely be going back to celebrate other events! Highly recommended. More...

TL;DRService: 5/5Food: 5/5Overall experience 5/5The Hero Ranch Kitchen had been on my radar for a while. After securing a reservation, we arrived on time and were seated promptly. Here's what we ordered: - Cornbread and Chicken ($22) - I had low expectations for this dish. I'm talking beneath the 7th ring of hell low. So imagine my surprise when I took my first bite and involuntarily gasped. This ranks in the top 5 cornbread I've ever eaten. Perfect in texture, flavor, and overall crispness. The bacon complemented beautifully and introduced a bit of saltiness to the flavor profile. - Crispy Sushi Bites ($24) - Amazing! The crispy rice was such a fun way to spice up traditional nigiri. - Truffle fries ($10) - Very yummy! No additional notes- 16 oz Bone in ribeye ($65) - Cooked to perfection. The sauce placed atop was out of this world. I can honestly say that I prefer HRK's ribeye to some steakhouses' - I will definitely be ordering again upon return!- Lasagna ($32) - So darn delicious! Hearty and meaty and cheesy and all the good things. Very big fan. - They have a liquor license which means that they buy alcohol wholesale (aka cheaper for patrons - yayyyy!)Discovering a new favorite restaurant is truly one of life's underrated pleasures. Grateful to HRK for providing that joy! I'll 100% be returning. More...

The customer service is top notch. I came recently and found blankets on our chairs as we dined outside. A small but nice touch to help during the winter months. I had the halibut and the flavors blended nicely together. I was apprehensive about a poached egg on top but it was yummy. We also started with the elote and Brussels Sprouts salad. All recommended. Excellent food, but not enough heaters for outdoor dining. Reserve indoor table or wait until weather is warmer to go. Their website does mention outdoor maybe "inconvenient," implying it will be OK, but it is very cold. We did not have a single heater anywhere near our table. And ours was not the only table like that. We asked if a heater could be brought closer and were told there weren't enough to go around. You are literally eating outside with no heat. I took my girlfriend to hero ranch kitchen for her birthday, and we were both excited to eat there. The ambience and Decour is really nice and the service is incredible. However, the steaks that we ordered were about average at best. In particular for the price point of my ribeye, and my girlfriends Wagyu fillet, the taste just wasn't there. I'm not sure if this is a preference thing or it's an absolute thing, but the way they overly char their steaks makes it so they have a slightly bitter crust on the outside and the inside tends to be slightly tough. From now on when I want to enjoy a nice steak dinner, I think I will just stick to steak houses because this was a bit of a disappointment. The other food and appetizers we had we're good and the drinks are really well priced here. Overall, this restaurant is a nice place to go to and the service is extremely good. But I probably would never order a steak here again. More...

This place was great! Super cute, but super small! We came to celebrate my husbands birthday and were lucky enough to get a small 2 person booth in the corner which made it more intimate for us. We had the crab cakes and sushi bites for appetizers and both were tasty but the sushi bites... AMAZING! For dinner my husband had the wagu filet and it was incredible. I ordered the bone in ribeye which is my fave and it was the disappointment of the evening. Flavor was good but the meat was crazy tough and gristle-y. Side by side his blew mine out of the water for sure! Would like to think mine was a one off because I can't imagine it would still be on the menu if it wasn't. Drinks were okay... we had 2 house cocktails that were pretty good. I can't remember the names but mine had the black salt on it. Then I finished with the lemon drop and it was pretty bad. Thought is was drinking straight lemon juice. Service was good. Took a crazy long time to get our second drinks. Ordered in the middle of our meal and got them after we cleared our plates. Prob why I didn't bother to send the lemon drop back. We noticed a few others received bday sundaes so we were excited to try ours but we were given the check without it. Manager came by, Alex. He was very nice, checked on us and I did mention the disappointment of the ribeye and he was accommodating. Also he realized we never received the bday sundae and did send one over. Our server was very nice, I think she was just super busy. All in all it would be between a 3.5 and 4 stars I rated a bit higher because I do think our experience was a one off. More...

We quickly brought out our 3 bottles on the table which Alex helped us open to breathe and keep our glasses constantly filled. Edit: I do want to acknowledge that Manager Sarah contacted us about our experience and was very sympathetic to the situation below, which she felt was unusual. She genuinely wanted to know how they could make this well. She seemed very sincere, and I do appreciate that outreach and professionalism.I just could not enjoy my meal this evening. Ratings are: -5 (minus 5 ) for ambiance, 4 for food, 4 for service. This felt more like it was a 2-star night. It was a pretty unfortunate celebration. We ate here once for brunch pre-pandemic and it was quite awesome. Recently, had a special occasion to celebrate, so made rezzie for 5 pm Sunday. We were seated way down in the back in a tiny dark, low ceiling room. At first, we felt accepting of that, as it was a coolish night with winds forecast; so a bit cold for outdoor dining. Unfortunately for us, a NOISY group of 9 to 10 was seated in the same room. How noisy? The type of noisy were one middle-aged guest looked up at the acoustic panel when she walked in and started yelling, ~HELLO! HELLO! HELLO!~ at the ceiling! We immediately asked to be reseated, but ~~staff assured us that everywhere else inside would end up being equally noisy*~~! Our waiter said they would get the manager in if it got too bad, but that did not happen. This group was the type where a shouted toast was called for every 3-4 minutes (HEYYY, my cat just turned 7 years old! TOAST!@*!!). It was miserable. I lost my appetite during the 2nd course. The serving staff could not hear us order so they brought a wrong glass of wine and under cooked meat (~medium~ rare, not RARE). We asked for the check to leave before finishing dinner. The manager finally showed up to apologize to us, but not to bring down the noise of the (frankly more lucrative) group in the room. Another table also asked to move at the same time due to the excessive noise. The manager comped some items and gave us a discount card for a future visit*; okay better than a kick in the butt ... but really ...it was supposed to be a special occasion; and saving a few bucks was cold comfort. *and if it is always predictably this noisy on a Sunday at 5 pm as the staff told us earlier, why would we come back, discount or no? Edit: Still, since it may be this was unusual after all, and they were so very nice in their outreach, we may try Hero Ranch again some time. More...

We had the tomahawk and the rib eye, were super excited. The tomahawk came out raw in the middle had to be sent back for more cooking. The rib eye was real thin and didn't taste like it had been salted. It didn't have much flavor. Maybe had too much expectation but it seems like meats are the speciality here. I brought my parents and girlfriend here to celebrate parents anniversary and Mom's birthday. It was our first time here. Had to navigate past a walker and wine chiller to get to our seats after our host showed us our table and left . Had to ask if we could be assisted with that before we could sit down. My seat had food stuck to it, I was literally sitting in the doorway. The mat that was placed by the door furled up anytime I attempted to move my chair, the table legs were so uneven that they wobbled to the point where they were at an almost 20-30 degree pitch. Why would you even put a table in this area? We were also seated in a backroom that was super small and warm, had very little ambiance which was why I picked this place, I wanted to be by the main bar with the open ceiling and chandeliers not the kids roller room with crap tables and air ducts that blew air in your face while eating. The food and service were the only grace but if you make a reservation make sure you call so you can ask to be seated in the main dining area or outside area. And if you do, you CANNOT cancel within 24 hours or your credit card will be charged $30/person. Who do they think they are? This is certainly not a 5 star restaurant....not even close. My partner made reservtions over a week in advance, and there were only 2 spots available....5:30 and 7:45--for a Thursday night, no less. But I was looking forward to this experience. We had a very unpleasant encounter with the usher waiter today. We heard the good words about this place from Yelp review and went there. When we got there at 615pm, the usher waitress asked if we have a reservation. We said no. The usher waitress then told us in a kind of arrogant tone that they do not have any open table for today. We were left there with full ambivalence regarding what it means. Does it mean it is a reservation only restaurant? Does it mean it is a reservation only restaurant at weekends? The usher waitress did not bother explaining to us at all. What bothered me is where this arrogance comes from? I believe that the usher waitress was judging us based on the status characteristics that we embody. I was not sure if it was based on race? 974 accent? Or even the way we dress? Or perhaps simply because we did not make a reservation? The arrogance together with the experience of discrimination made me feel very uncomfortable and did not want to come at all. Our dinner was so disappointing. Let me start out by saying the last time we were here, which was coincidentally a year ago, it was our anniversary and the food was delicious. At that time I would have given it 5 stars. But last night I would say it was a 1 at best. It was a .5 out of 4. I'll break it down:The server arrived and asked if it was a special occasion. We said yes. It is our anniversary. It was Saturday and our anniversary is Monday. We always celebrate on Saturdays it works better with our work schedules. *We ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer which arrived quickly. But was barely enough for two and was charred and smoky tasting. There was ample salad. It should have been feta salad with charred octopus. We should have sent it back but we do not do that. *We ordered the beet salads. Which was fine. A nice portion and the beets were cooked well and had good flavor. *My meal the pan seared scallops, puréed celery and cherry tomatoes - 4 mini scallops arrived which were cooked well but the portion was ridiculous. I had a special request of potatoes and spinach (this was the same side as the halibut. I did not ask for the poached egg and caviar which also came with the halibut.) I requested the other instead of the celery purée and cooked cherry tomatoes that normally came with the scallops. Celery sounded too plain of a side to me. The favor of the scallops was fine however the small strip of potatoes and spinach leaf they layer them on was again, ridiculous. It was more of an appetizer. My husband said I should have asked for a side of potatoes and sautéed spinach then perhaps they would have been visible. *My husband had the pan seared salmon over eggplant. He said his was fine the eggplant was tasty however his salmon fillet had bones in it. No one wants to pick bones out of their food. *Friend 1 had the ribeye. We had never seen a ribeye so thin. No surprise it was overcooked and had a surprising amount of dry hard fat around the sides. The scallop potatoes were undercooked and the asparagus was undercooked which is better than the alternative but they had a peculiar smell. It's as though someone poured liquid smoke over them. It was not good. I know because he shared. *Friend 2 had the pork chops. The presentation of hers was beautiful but she left half of it on her plate. It was too dry even with the apricot glaze they provided over it. She cut the outer part off and ate the meat nearer the bone. She did say the brussels sprouts were delicious. For dessert we shared the peach cobbler and butter cake with strawberries. The butter cake was the size of a macaroon and it came with 4 small strawberry slices. The cobbler was okay and served in a small mini cocotte. Nothing extraordinary. When the bill came, thank goodness someone checked, they charged us double for the mediocre desserts. I have nothing bad to say about our before dinner cocktails or the wines with our meals. All good. Why the server asked if it was a special occasion is curious to me. He did nothing special. I guess he was just making conversation. I think we will pass on Hero Ranch in the future. More...
