Five stars! We highly recommend Jordynn and the rest of the team at The Heeling Canine for their professionalism, responsiveness and ability to get results. We signed up our smart and spirited 4-month-old charcoal Labrador Retriever in a board and train program and it was one of the best decisions! Charlie came back home happy, well-trained and well-socialized - he’s very responsive to commands such as sit, down, heel, place, kennel and others. My dog, Floyd had a bad reputation for destroying items when we weren’t around due to severe separation anxiety. The barking while in the crate while at work (only 3 days a week) was beyond what was acceptable. He was also starting to hurt himself. He went to The Heeling Canine for the 6 week board & train. Expensive but worth every penny! Jordan was able to build his self-confidence and now, two months later, I have a dog that I can enjoy! He just turned 5 and that saying you can’t teach an old dog new tricks is wrong. He loves pleasing! He doesn’t rip our arm off when going for walks. He understands what we need from him and we’re having great success with him in the crate. No longer running away and hiding when it’s time for us to leave for work. I ask him to go in, and reluctantly… He goes on his own accord. Barking is minimal at this time, and very acceptable (if someone comes to the door), I still want him to bark. He’s less neurotic and can relax outside of our home, (let’s say we take me to grandmas house), which he’s never been able to do. I never invite anybody over for dinner… Because not too many people can deal with Floyd… But I am not embarrassed by him anymore and honestly he behaves like a normal dog now. What do you love most about your job?
My favorite part about my job as a dog trainer, is being able to really help change people and dogs quality of life. I have had some dogs come in to my programs, that quite frankly had their owners questioning if they should still keep them. Being able to see the expression on the owners face when the dog comes home from their board and train program, really makes me happy to do what I do. I also love seeing dogs confidence increase and their overall needs being met, after educating owners on what it means to give dogs a fulfilled life.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have worked for many companies in my years training dogs, and I have learned SO MUCH from all the individuals I worked for. With this being said, I have accumulated a lot of "tools in my toolbox" and wanted to create a program that embodies all that I believe in. I wanted to incorporate a home life training approach, with structure but also play time with other dogs and people. Something that not a lot of companies like to include in their program. I wanted the dogs in the training program feel like they aren't at a training facility but a home away from home.
Why should our clients choose you?
I believe a client should choose any trainer that makes them feel comfortable to send their dog to them. With that being said, I let all my potential clients know that the dogs are in a very safe environment. Dogs are never left outside unattended, they are housed in the home, with a regulated thermostat of 72 degrees. I use crates that are very secure so there is no dogs breaking out of kennels (even the escape artists). Dogs always have access to water in their crates, that is never shared with another dog, and they have chew proof beds in their crates as well. The yard is sanitized multiple times a week and treated for fleas and ticks. Dogs wear air tags at all times for extra security and piece of mind. When dogs are transported in the car, they ride in crash proof crates ALWAYS. Safety is our number one priority at The Heeling Canine because if my dog was staying with somebody, I would like all of these precautions taken as well. This is why I believe my company is worth your consideration!

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We sanitize crates daily and our yard is sanitized multiple times a week. Dogs never share water bowls or food bowls unless they are ran through the dishwasher first. Toys are also sanitized weekly.
Polite Puppy - Hybrid Program

This package is designed for those who want to start their puppy off on the right path. Are you a first time puppy parent? Are you having problems with potty training? Maybe your puppy is biting and chewing everything.

The program varies on the time, but the minimum is a 4 week stay and can go up to 8 weeks!
