I came in to the Haven broken lost and just about on my deathbed they took me in treating me with kindness with love and compassion I will never forget my time at the Haven all the facilitators truly cared about myself and the others that were in at the time I highly recommend the Haven if you have addiction problems I would send my family and my friends there they truly care about you and I understand because most of them have been there themselves so they were able to help you and they know where you’re coming from Haven is the best treatment facility in central California.

Exactly one year ago today, July 25, 2018, I was admitted to the Haven at Pismo after years, decades, of ongoing, untreated drug and alcohol addiction. I was welcomed with friendly, professional and compassionate staff and professionals who provided me outstanding care, treatment, and therapy throughout my stay that has allowed me the opportunity and blessing to gratefully claim a full year of continued sobriety. Honestly. Great place. This Rehab is like a new born baby and is still learning and getting better. I understand why some people give it low ratings and bad reviews. You can't just listen to a review. Reviews are opinions and everyone has them. They will review this place negatively just because a staff member told them that they have to clean up after themselves in phase 3.They will get a positive score on a drug test and act like they have no idea why. They might have had a bad attitude that wasn't open to recept new ideas and concepts. I went for myself, talked to a therapist for the first time ever. Awareness changing, and mind cleansing. There is a counselor there named Zhuzhi, she is the most loving and understanding soul I have ever met. I would tell her stories and she would tear up. She is on another plain of awareness. Honestly just go and take a really nice break from your phone, laptop, work, responsibilities and just the really unimportant stuff in life. You ll still get to see your family of course.*** The last and most important*** They will take you to places like AA and NA. Keep your mind very open and do not judge anyone there. If you do not like the programs, that's understandable, but they have saved many lives. The thing is though you have to create a program for yourself. You are you and you know in your heart what is best and realistic for you. I say in your heart because you have to find that love for yourself, which will make you think clearly. Just be open to everything. SMART meetings are new but have helped many people as well. ( By the way if you are young and have problems with alcohol you must be very fluid about everything, because being to rigid will make you snap, Just know that you have bad habits and that you have to figure out how to replace them)All Respect and Love to the people that have made a mark, might misspell some names :(Barbara :) was like a mama to me, always love you, Lacey the sweetest, funniest, wittiest, and coolest chic I have ever met, Jeff WHITE your voice and wisdom will forever be stuck in my head, Zhuzhi( I could say a lot and a lot) but thank you for everything, Red Hair Lacey from the front desk just a cool person to be around and chat if you are ever needing a break from the program she is a real one,Anna the nurse from phase 1 is a legend and dope as hell as person to relate with, Also the blond nurse from phase 1, her name I could never put together Sacagawea hahahahah ( sorry I feel awful) Christine my therapist who was great and our relationship was not like friends but almost as colleagues on a job to save my mind,Juliana the director is the person that will smell through excuses and cook you up a remedy to look honestly at yourself, she is very smart and try's very hard everyday to juggle everything, if you are so lucky to get on her radar Juliana will challenge you and make you stronger and better in the process,Big thanks to Johnny( he started to work at phase 3 when I left) but genuine, understanding and will give himself to everyone that needs help ,Also Jason from phase 2 is quite but has wisdom to learn from and if he feels that you are the right group he will share the lessons he has learned, very good man plus an OG on the waves,Jessica from phase 2 is awesome and will keep you on track towards your goal, is very understanding and responsive person,Wink is super chill and laid back will make you feel like you are just visiting him at his house I wish him the best with everything,There is also Cody the ping pong master, seriously he is too good I don't get it,Well just a general thank you and peace to all who make this place happen. A year ago, I was 20 days into my stay at the Haven. The 45 days I spent there, were, at the very least, life changing. I'm 48, and I had NO CLUE that I was causing myself so much mental anguish. I needed the head to toe, holistic approach to recovery. I got that there. They introduce you to every tool possible, to get clean/sober AND to try to stay that way. Not every program is for everyone, but this worked for me. As far as any neg reviews you read; you can find something about any business that you dislike/disagree with. The Haven saved my life. I'm 100% a different person now, and I own it, that I will have to work hard, forever to stay that way. Also, there are many other things I learned there that are just good tools to have. I had an amazing experience at The Haven. I read through some of the reviews on this site and found it to be quite disheartening that there are a few negative reviews, obviously from some disgruntled, former clients, with some misguided anger. I have been to about fifteen residential treatment centers throughout my life and The Haven is by far the best that I have been to. I have never seen a team of staff members and clinicians who are completely compassionate across the board and go above and beyond the call of duty. The rules are reasonable and I was very comfortable in my stay from detox to residential to transitional living. The Haven and its staff members really had my back and and I might not be alive today if it were not for what they did for me, I will be forever grateful. It has been exactly what I've needed since coming here 30 days ago. I was a physical, emotional and spiritual mess when I got here and now I am gaining spiritual confidence. The staff has all been fantastic and when I finally let go and let them do their job, I started to feel positive results. After 8 years struggling with addiction utilizing tradition 12-step programs, the therapies and modalities of the Haven were finally successful in lifting the obsession of craving. The staff were amazing at working with me to discover the core, hidden issues that kept bringing me back to alcohol. Today, I live my life alcohol and craving free. I will be forever grateful to The Haven's for giving me my life back. Today, I am 2 years free from the obsession and love my life. The Haven's men's residential home is very well managed and run. The house is very clean inside. They offer the most cutting edge in science and compassionate approach to addiction recovery. The most professional and well educated staff I have ever interacted with in a treatment facility. My son is receiving personal and medically supervised treatment.The men's residence offers a dignified refuge for my son to feel safe, and he connects with the staff.
