This is such an interesting find. It's behind a woman's house. In the back house in the restaurant. There is no inside seating, the tables are in the yard. My husband and I both had wraps. He had the Ahi, I had the chicken. We both thought it was delicious. Keep in mind, you are on Island time and everything is fresh and not rushed. My husband and I were in search of something to take on our flight back to California to eat because airline food can be questionable at times and expensive for what you get. Thanks to yelp, I found this little treasure that exceeded all my expectations. It's an adorable outdoor cafe situated behind a residential home. It appears to be run by two people, and the food was made from scratch and to order. I went the veggie route and got the avocado wrap (based on the positive reviews and pictures on yelp), while my husband got the BBQ chicken wrap. The food was absolutely delicious, and the perfect meal to take on our flight...not too heavy but super filling, fresh, and flavorful! Overall, one of the best food decisions we made while on Kauai. Fresh fresh fresh!! This is the freshest plate of food I've had coming out of a restaurant. The caveat is that the food takes well over 20 minutes to reach your table but it's worth the wait! Also, sitting in a calm garden helps alleviate the wait time frustration. We had the hummus wrap and the mung bean soup. Both tasted great and very homey. Their juices are brilliant too! I prefer to eat animal protein rarely for health reasons. This was the BEST, most satisfying and nutritious meal I had while in Lihue. At most restaurants here, I had to compromise my health or eat meals with the protein removed - and replaced with nothing. Not here, I got a delicious wrap with hummus and black-eyed peas and there were several items on the menu that looked delicious and healthy.My dad was able to get a fantastic-looking salad with Mahi.Situated in a back yard the food made me feel cared for. Wanted something fresh near the airport before flying out to the big island and this place came up as really close by. You street park out front and walk around back. Got the mango juice and curry chicken salad, my fiancé got the rosemary chicken wrap. Was fresh homemade and tasty. On a Wednesday afternoon it was quiet and they brought our food out quickly. A quaint spot that you might not know existed unless you looked on yelp!! Phenomenonal wraps and amazing service. We arrived slightly after 1 pm and on a rainy day, they helped us rearrange/clean tables so we would have a dry place to sit. Love this spot, both for the food and the vibe. If you're like us and it's your first stop after landing, you'll instantly feel welcomed and relaxed by the low key vibe of the greenery, sunshine, and casual dining area outside that feels like you're in someone's backyard (well, you kinda are). You'll probably even see several lizards dart around during your visit. I got the vegetarian hummus & black eyed pea wrap, and it was dancing with flavor! We came here (parents, brother + spouse, hubby + 2kids) after landing in Lihue.  My mom has health issues so we wanted to eat something on the healthier side.  Despite being healthy, I have to say, the food was very fresh and delicious.  My mom, who is a picky eater, liked the food and they were very accommodating when we asked them to not add salt to my mom's order.  Between all of us, we ordered the organic chicken wrap, BBQ organic chicken plate, Ahi plate, and Mahi plate.  They were all good.  For the sides, we tried the collard greens (flavorful), purple potato salad (yums), kale salad (fresh, light, wonderful dressing), and corn bread (delish).  Highly recommend this place, however, be prepared for a long wait.  There were 8 of us and it took about 45min - 1hr to get our food ready.  We didn't mind though, as we watched the birds and admired the garden while relaxing/waiting.  The staff/owners were very kind and attentive.  Will definitely come back on our next trip. Went for lunch on a Tuesday. We were warned that there would be a long wait. We placed our order right away and then drove to 7-Eleven for drinks. Once we returned we had to wait about 10 mins longer. Some people were complaining and even left because of how long it took. We discovered this place through Yelp; it's not in a spot where anyone would be likely to find it by chance. One side of Akahi Street is mostly the back entrances of businesses along Kuhio Highway; the other side of the street is mostly houses or businesses that look like houses.There's a Greenery Cafe sign in front of one of the houses (where the owners live?), and some small signs that indicate that the restaurant is a house behind the house that's visible from the street. There's a grass driveway to disability parking by the restaurant-house, but parking is mostly a matter of finding a spot on the street.Once you find the place, the next challenge is the wait. When we arrived in the patio between the house-house and the restaurant-house, someone noticed us, asked us to wait a moment, and stepped away for a bit. I did my Yelp check-in, and the three of us (my wife, our four-year-old, and I) settled into seating. Before long, someone was ready to take our order. We ordered our sandwiches.While waiting, we kept our child amused. When they announced that our food was ready, I noted that it had been 38 minutes to prepare the sandwiches. Everything on the menu sounded like really healthy food, and the menu boasted about the guiltless organic ingredients, sustainable fish, and so forth. Besides getting just plain good, healthy food here, one could probably indulge a lot of kinds of specialty diets here.The food was delicious. Just about every bite was five-star, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" delicious. A lot of healthy food is a bit on the bland side, but this was all good. Yum!The seating area is pretty small. It's outdoors, with a roof that protects against sunshine and rain, but probably not much against wind. The tables and chairs are spartan, and not really ideal for the long wait for food. But I kind of understand; it's not easy to find comfortable outdoor furniture.The slow service means that the food is very freshly prepared, and the meal we had was fantastic. But it's definitely a deterrent to visiting on an impulse.From other reviews, I understand that it's possible to order ahead. That seems like a really good idea if one doesn't have plenty of time to wait. (I'll have to look up how to order ahead next time we're on the island.) But that requires added planning that's not necessary at places with faster service.In conclusion, the food is worth five stars: "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" But the time requirement (whether a long wait or ordering ahead far enough in advance) is enough of an inconvenience that I'm reducing my overall rating to four stars: "Yay! I'm a fan." More...

Fresh healthy food, but make sure you have at least 30 minutes or longer to wait for your food. I was looking for a place to buy a good salad to take on my long (5+ hours) flight home. Based on location and yelp reviews I picked The Greenery Cafe. It's a cute hippyish cafe with parking for about 2-3 cars in front and some limited street parking. It's basically a home converted to a cafe. The kitchen is in the home and seating in the backyard. There were maybe 2 parties in front of me in line when I showed up. The party in front of me decided to opt somewhere else when they were told it was a 30 minute wait. We had plenty of time before our flight so I decided to give it a wait. The woman taking our order was very nice and very friendly. She let us know about the wait for the food before we ordered (I think that it's very courteous of her to disclose this as many people are probably short on time during lunch on a weekday). I ordered a couple salads and a vegetarian sandwich for the husband and I to share and a watermelon juice. There are plenty of healthy veggie-packed options on the menu as well as options to add fish and chicken (they were out of ahi for the day but had Mahi Mahi). While I waited for the food several more parties arrived and placed orders. There were several regulars who are well aware of the long wait and there were newbies like me who were surprised/disappointed by the wait. The watermelon juice was refreshing and much needed on a warm day. The food was fresh and exactly what I was craving. The Mahi was very tasty and flavorful. After a week of splurging (I was in Kaua'i for work and had a pretty decent expense allowance) on not so healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners I really needed a decent salad.
