I have to say that I was quite impressed with the ample parking, beautiful accommodations and very friendly staff. ED and colleen are the best! My name is Chuckie Gookins and I own Fresh New Angle Events. I have been in the wedding business for over 15 years. I could have chosen to have my wedding any where I wanted and although there are many great places. Ed and his team are second to no one when it comes to service! Let me explain, When you secure a wedding venue, something that I feel is very important is accommodation. So accommodation includes many things. The Grand accommodated our menu, giving us what we wanted. They showed us options but ultimately let us design what food we wanted and then the timing and way it was presented to perfection. Next they gave us different options with the bar, including the opportunity for top shelf. They have a venue that accommodated our ceremony, cocktail, and reception all under one roof and also an outdoor patio. Keeping along the lines of accommodation, they allowed us to have control when we wanted to on timing of things and so on. I have been to many places where the maitre d just does what they want and do not allow the clients to have their way. (seems absurd seeing the client is paying for the service) not so at the GRAND very relaxed and professional. You can tell they have done this before and are very seasoned. If these accommodations dont set them apart from the rest. They are located attached to a Hotel!! In my business this is where I would drop the MIC and say no more! Keep up the Great work. One word: Wow!

My husband Mike and I had our wedding reception at The Grand at 1600 in August 2017. We had the time of our lives! It has been over a month since the wedding and our family and friends are still talking about the great time they had!

Mike and I are so happy we chose The Grand to host our reception! We had so many compliments from our guests. The service was superb, the food was incredible, and the atmosphere was magical. The cocktail hour, in particular, was out of this world! We never thought we could afford such a wonderful party, but the price was right and everything was even better than we could have imagined.

Ed and Colleen were wonderful! We cannot thank them enough for being so kind, courteous, and thoughtful. They were available for every question and were a huge help every step of the way. Ed, Colleen, and the exceptional staff at The Grand made sure the event was smooth and spectacular.

Mike and I would also like to thank Nick at Devine Productions for the outstanding DJ services and beautiful uplighting he provided for the reception. We really enjoyed working with Nick in the planning process. He knew all the details to cover and totally brought the party to the next level! Everyone at the reception had a blast on the dance floor!

We will always remember the amazing time we had at The Grand! Thank you for making our wedding reception the celebration of our dreams!

This is so long overdue:
Our wedding was September 2017 and I cant express how amazing everything was.From Colleen and ed to the servers everyone was great, they go above and beyond from what the contract states. They made sure everything was perfect and we didn't have to worry about a thing. The food was delicious, there was always a drink on our hands. Our guest rave about how gorgeous the venue was and they still comment on how great the costumer service was. If we had another special occasions i wouldn't go anywhere else. We had our wedding here. The ceremony was beautiful. The reception was wonderful. Everyone loved the food and the cake was delicious. The arch for the ceremony is a little old and dated but thanks to our florist it was stunning. The only issue was that I paid extra to have the candelabras on the tables and while our photographs were being taken the staff removed them. I told the staff they go on the tables, he told me they were just for the ceremony. I had to explain I paid extra to have them on all tables during the ceremony. He finally put them out but this all while I was trying to take my wedding photos with family. Ed is a wonderful person. Easy going, helpful, answered all questions and makes you feel welcome. My Husband and I got married at The Grand on 5/19/18, and I must say that from the day we started looking for a venue nothing stood out like The Grand. My husband had said he would not take a place seriously if the place did not take us seriously. When we met Colleen at The Grand she was everything we were looking for. She was professional, she knew the answers to our questions without missing a beat, and added a compassionate touch that showed she cared not about booking a wedding and taking money, but about making our wedding the best day of our lives. Throughout the planning process Colleen was very attentive to any questions we may have had, and their payment plan made it very easy to afford to pay for other things while still paying off our reception. The overall price was very affordable, especially considering the open bar and the quality of the food and cake (which was included). When the day finally came, Colleen helped put together all center pieces, and made sure that her staff was on their A game with helping make all guests comfortable, and ensuring that the wedding was perfect in the eyes of my husband and I. The Grand worked very closely with our vendors to make sure there were no hiccups, and everybody was able to have a ton of fun! Our guests won't stop talking about how great the wedding was, and how it was the best wedding they have been to. Thank you so much to Ed, Colleen, and all of the members of The Grand for making our night unforgettable, and for making this the best day of our lives.

Everything from the planning to day-of-execution was done with an effortless grace by the owner, Ed and the director of catering, Colleen. The venue is beautiful, with the outside perfectly set up for the ceremony, even with the threat of rain.

Victoria outdid herself as Maitre'd, as numerous friends and family have shared with us that it was "the best wedding they've been to". The venue nicely accommodated our guest list of about 150 people. Last but not least, a huge reason why everyone was so pleased was because of the food. The chef, Dan put together a delicious menu, from the cocktail hour through dessert.

The Grand at 1600 is ran by very exceptional people! We just got married there yesterday, April 8th 2017 and I can't even wait to write this review! ! From the first moment of talking with Colleen and Ed we knew this was where our wedding dreams would come true! They both helped us every step of the way and they were both very accommodating into making our day the Most Perfectly, Bright, Wedding Day! I love the venue and staff so much that during our own reception, I was making recommendations to our newly engaged friends attending!!! The food is unbelievably delicious, the entire staff treats you and all your guests like family, the whole venue is absolutely gorgeous in every way! We were married in the courtyard outside which was stunning decorated by my mother-in-law, Carolann Rooney-Benedetti, who owns "Carolann's Heart". The hotel is attached to the venue which makes this very accommodating for all your guests, not to even mention that the Garden State Parkway Entrance/Exit is just up the block. I couldn’t wait to write this review. I can’t say enough good things about this venue! We just had our wedding on 10/13/18 and it was all we could ever had hoped for and more! Ed and Colleen from the start were amazing, weren’t trying to push us into using their venue and just went with the flow. They make you feel so comfortable and welcome you with open arms. Everyone kept raving about how much fun they had and how good the food was! They decorated how I told them to and went above and beyond for us the moment we met them. Colleen was my maitre d for the night since the other girl was sick and let me tell you she was the absolute BEST! She made sure I was having the best time ever and was always right there when I needed her. I assure you if you pick this venue you will not be disappointed! My fiance and I had our reception at The Grand at 1600 and were very happy! They offer many wedding expos which allows you to taste their food, and see how a wedding would be held there. Their expos were helpful because we were able to taste different foods. Colleen and Ed answer SO QUICKLY to any and all questions you may have, even extensive list of questions you may have! They were incredibly flexible with everything and the reception was exactly how we imagined. I had A LOT of decorations, and I'm pretty sure they were a bit annoyed with the amount of stuff I had due to a comment that was made, which makes me feel kind of bad. However, the guests enjoyed everything and I was so happy with how everything turned out. Victoria, the maitre'd was very nice and kept everything running smoothly. A couple of guests, and two of my bridesmaids said Colleen wasn't very friendly during the reception which was surprising to me because I had a wonderful experience with the owners. I simply loved this place, it was everything we were looking for :  elegant, clean just perfect! Ed and Colleen are the absolute best ! My sister recently had her wedding here. This place went above and beyond. They arranged a meeting a few weeks before the actual wedding date to pick their menu for the big day. Since I was the maid of honor, I showed up earlier than everyone else to make sure everything was ready for the bride and the groom. The center pieces were dropped off earlier in the week and I was asked to come in and set them up the day of the wedding on the tables by the bride. I came in and they were already on the tables. Set up. I had to do NOTHING! The staff was friendly and Colleen told me to not worry about anything. They were lighting up the candles before everyone started arriving so I didn't have to do it. Colleen was sent an email with special instructions as to what the bride wanted, and she followed them to a T! She is friendly and super approachable. She was on top of everything. There was an open bar, a mashed potato bar which had as toppings chives, bacon, cheese, mushrooms and gravy. On the opposite side, there was meatballs, sausage and peppers and I believe small pieces of filet mignon. There was also a fruit and veggie table which included: broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and celery with ranch to go with it.   As far a fruit, there was strawberries, pineapple, watermelon, maybe some berries. The quantities were pretty good.The hors d'oeuvre were so delicious as well. They had pulled barbecued pork biscuits, spinach and cheese quiche, tomato bisque and grilled cheese sandwiches, and pigs in a blanket. I had everything but the last one. As far as the meal once inside the actual venue, there was pasta to start with, then salad, and you could pick either steak or chicken. I went with chicken. It was accompanied with potatoes and veggies. There was coffee after and wedding cake.There was an option for gluten free starter so instead of the pasta, you could have a quinoa salad instead and for the main entree they had a stuffed pepper with quinoa and veggies. Our daughter's wedding was on a Friday evening September 15, 2017. I'd like to thank Ed and Coleen for an amazing experience. Attention to every detail was given. The staff was so attentive right down to refolding your napkins during the evening. They all had smiles on their faces and constantly asked if there was anything that we needed. The venue is very pretty and elegant. During the journey towards getting closer to the wedding there were many times that we called with questions. We were always assured that things will run smoothly and they were always there with the answers. My daughter and her husband were absolutely thrilled from beginning to end. You know when it's a wonderful wedding when people are coming up to you during the affair and saying how delicious the food is and to this day we are still receiving compliments on how lovely the room was and the cocktail hour was just perfect. The Grand at 1600 was an amazing choice for our wedding. From the moment we walked in and met with Colleen, we were happy with the decision to check this place out. Colleen, Ed, and Victoria made our night better than we could have ever imagined. Leading up to the wedding, they were very accommodating, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions or requests. The courtyard was a beautiful area for our ceremony. The night of, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. My husband and I both come from wedding/catering/banquet family backgrounds and both our family's have been raving about the amazing service and delicious food.
