F&H is one of my favorite "divey" bars in DC. It's off the beaten path on 17th Street NW and offers a nice change to the typical DC bar scene. While it isn't exactly unique, there's something nice & comfortable about the wood paneled walls and leather seats. In the warmer months it is especially nice to sit outside. They do allow smoking outside though, so if that bothers you, then you may want to go inside. But let's be honest, the happy hour is the real reason you want to go here. They offer great deals, especially on rail drinks. When you order a rum and coke, they bring you a decent sized glass of rum and a bottle of coke. Then you mix it yourself. You are essentially getting 1.5-2 drinks for the price of 1. My one real negative is that some of the waitresses are not the nicest/friendliest, but the bartenders have always been friendly and easy to talk to (should you find yourself drinking solo or waiting for someone, etc.) Overall, go here for their HH deals and comfortable/easy-going vibe, not so much for the food.
