I had SO MUCH FUN here! I was visiting Portland with my boyfriend and after a bottle of wine at dinner we somehow thought it would be a great idea to do an escape room. We yelped for escape rooms in the area and we were able to buy walk-in tickets for The Escape Room and were miraculously the only two in the room we signed up for.The first escape room we tried was the Butcher's Basement which I would 100% recommend listening to the online suggestion for 4-6 people. It has a low a low escape rate (less than 20%) and we definitely needed more people in the room to work on activities simultaneously, we did not escape (the bottle of wine before the escape room definitely didn't help).After two days of hiking in Acadia, we decided that we needed redemption and came back to this location on a Sunday afternoon. This time we tried easier room which was Pharoh's Tomb and were able successfully to escape the room. They have lockers outside to lock small items in which was a definite bonus. My retired parents were in town, so I thought that this would be a great thing to do. This was the first escape room for all of us and although it was frustrating at times to be under a time constraint, we all loved the experience and managed to find our way out of the "Pharaoh's Tomb" with three minutes to spare. The staff was fun, friendly, and knowledgable and the lobby was clean and uncluttered.I would definitely come back to attempt to escape another room! More...

Escape rooms have really taken off across the country.  Family has had a lot of fun at this location with our fifth and latest, "Butcher's Basement," yesterday.  The adventures vary in difficulty so ask before booking.  "Basement" was the hardest we have done.  Staff very helpful and you get up to three hints.  A cool way to spend an hour when downtown on a hot summer day. Both times my girlfriend and I have gone here the workers have been very nice and inviting. First time we went we didn't get through it in time. Tonight we did butcher's basement and completed it with a few minutes to spare. This escape made #11 in a row now for us. Keep up the good work. More...

I recently escaped the London Blitz!  I went with a group of 6 girlfriends and it was a lot more challenging than we expected.  Even though we maxed out on group size, there were plenty of puzzles to keep us all challenged the whole time.  I really enjoyed that the escape route takes you through a series of rooms, each one more challenging than the last.  I highly recommend this escape room!! The Escape Room. They call it that because you have to get out but they don't tell you that it REALLY won't be easy. My 9 year old son and I walked in and were paired up with another party of 5. Turns out this was a good thing. They were great and we needed all the brain power we could muster. 60 minutes to get out. Copperhead Saloon has a success rate of 30%. You get 3 hints. If you want them. At first we were determined to figure things out on our own. After 30 minutes we were all sweating and murmurs of "this is REALLY hard!" could be heard throughout the room. At this time, my son, the voice of logic spoke up and said "we could ask for a hint!" and started making the lasso sign. 30 seconds later we were all making the lasso sign and the first hint popped up on the video screen. 15 minutes later we were in a frenzy, everyone juggling numbers, trying to make sense of the clues. We took our last two hints. As we made headway, the timer continued to tick away. At last, we freed the last couple of clues. One last puzzle to solve...three minutes and counting. The group huddled together around an old cot trying to solve the final puzzle. Got it! They shouted out the combination as I plugged it into the lock (hoping it was in the right sequence!). Pop! Wicked fun if you can get over the immense smoke smell when you enter the building. The copperhead saloon room was awesome AND we escaped with 3+ minutes to spare! Great staff too.

For our anniversary, my boyfriend and I decided to escape!! We and four others entered the Egypt room. This venue is in a great spot. The staff was super informative and wanted our success, which was awesome. The only complaint we had was that the room was incredibly easy. We escaped in less than 30 mins. In general, the room was well-designed but not high tech. As my boyfriend and I have both done several rooms, we were expecting to get out quickly, but it was quicker than expected.  We are planning on returning to try out some of the more challenging rooms.
