Highly recommended!! DOuG has lots and lots of patience and is very focused! We somehow wound up with 5 dogs which is rather chaotic. Forget about Caesar Milan. DOuG is a much better trainer and it's not all about the $$$$ but training both the dogs and humans. More...

Janet, thank you for the kind review. Your frank comments help others learn that there are different, far better ways to relate to our dogs and have them relaxed and voluntarily submissive. Train (the humans who train their) dogs. It works, but it's not what we've been told. Doug Parker The DOuGTrainer 7 2 5 - 2 2 2 - 3 6 8 6

Doug was AMAZING!! The best trainer we could have wished for. My husband and I have two dogs - a 3 year old and a 10 month old puppy. With the 3 year old I have been to 3 different classes of 6 sessions of training and a lot of certifications (Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog) etc so I thought I know everything about training dogs. FALSE!When the new puppy came in the house, havoc broke! He wasn't listening to anyone, did not have any boundaries, was aggressive, attacking the other dog, biting us and our friends, pulling on the leash etc. After trying for 10 months different training methods as well as working with two different professional trainers with no results we were sure we would have to unfortunately return him. That's when we said we will try one last time and found Doug. His work is amazing!! Taught us how to regain control and leadership and honestly in two days we had a transformed, calm puppy that is not aggressive anymore. And everything was done without using shock/ pinch collars only calm, assertive energy.Would recommend him to anyone, really saved our marriage and made us enjoy both our dogs more!! More...

I hired Doug for my 1 year old resource guarding, anxious dog, Joe. I am from Chicago, so all my trainings were virtual. At first I was hesitant to do it online, however having Doug in my ear, with only my dog and I in the room, really helped our relationship grow. The first phone call I had with Doug put me at ease. He went into deep explanation of his methods and you could tell from the start he knew what he was talking about. We then spent the next full week working with my dog. After the first session Joe was visibility a more relaxed dog. His methods are very unconventional, but his passion really makes you buy in. After seeing them in action with your dog, you will quickly realize what makes them so successful. What I appreciate most about my time with Doug is how good of a person he is. I was at my breaking point and constantly felt reassured, and confident with him. His patience, resilience and knowledge of dogs is really as good as it gets. I've worked with a few trainers in the past and it was so refreshing to have someone who really cared about me and getting my dog better. He was willing to put in so much time and effort and that is something I can't thank him enough for. Highly recommend!! More...

Doug Parker is masterful.  I have to admit that I was skeptical and thought what he wanted me to do was hokie as my dog has always been stubborn. Turns out my hubby and I were the problem and once we accepted and learned Doug's training our dogs became followers and we became leaders. They are calm and the amount of barking has gone from a 10 everyday to a 1 everyday and I couldn't be happier.  Thank you Doug we really appreciate you. More...

He so kindly answered all my questions and gave me the best solutions to potty training a 10 month old husky, just when I was loosing hope Doug saved us and inspired us to keep trying. Doug was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I saw his van out and about in Henderson, and when I decided to pick a trainer, he was the first on my list and he did not disappoint. Having a long conversation with him on the phone about my dogs and my concerns about my behavior and how that impacted my dogs behavior. It was great to see him work with US, to change our mindset and behavior to be better leaders for our dogs. I am so excited to work on myself and my own patience and understanding. Superb experience and I can't wait to see the positive and calming changes in both myself and my animals.if you're looking for a way to get in touch with your animals natural cycle of behavior and following, call Doug and just chat with him. Doug Parker is remarkable. His level of caring about his craft is difficult to articulate. As most people who are serious about this subject realize, dog training is truly about owner training. Doug's understanding of people is exceeded only by his understanding of our furry canine friends. He made me feel a level of comfort with the training set up that I was able to get my dogs to behave in ways they never have before. And he predicted everything that happened, moments before it happened. He's like a freaking magician.I should probably point out that I live in Southern California while Doug lives near Las Vegas NV in Henderson, and our training took place by way of video where he watched the dogs and told me what to do and say. It was amazing. If you want unsurpassed training and attention to detail at a level you never thought possible to give you the calm and obedient dog you deserve to have, take advantage of this man's talents before someone gives him his own YouTube series and he's not available anymore. Doug's RDL model is brilliant. Unconventional, yet natural.   I knew Doug was the right choice for me when my dogs responded within 10 minutes of our first session. They are 10 years old, so it is taking time for them to respond to nature, the essence of Doug's model. Even so, every week, visitors notice that they are calmer. It takes dedication to practice, but is it ever worth it!  Doug's training affects many levels not directly related to training - it's fascinating! He's a delight to work with, patiently explaining a certain concept as many times as I need to hear it.  Since I'm in California, we use live Google Duo video. At first, I was hesitant to train via video, but training has exceeded my wildest expectations. More...

I was excited to find someone who was willing to take the time to share his knowledge about animals.  Doug the Dog Trainer has helped us get our calm back He spent time helping us stop trying to figure out  our neurotic as my husband calls her dog.  She isn't neurotic or high strung We forgot patience.......we learned it was the key to handling the problems.  She had a loud high pitched bark.  We picked her up, we bought her calming food.....teehee.  We tried to yell to get her to stop.....to no avail.  I am committed to the dog and I didn't know what to do  Glad we found Doug.  She was not a rescue dog, not neurotic, not a yapper.  She is our dog and deserved better than what we could do.  So Doug taught us to invest the time and be patient with her.  Today Doug is helping someone else find the place where they find calm with their dog.  I am glad to know that magic food, calming jackets, walks in the park, holding her and yelling at her was a waste of our time.I woke this morning with a return of health problems.  I was concerned about not being able to follow through with the work I committed to.  However it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.  She was calm and seems to enjoy it.  So.... Being able and committed with the new knowledge had given me the confidence to continue. So I summarize it by saying that the commitment with the knowledge from Doug the Dog trainer will change your dog's life. Doug is amazing. I highly recommend him to anyone whether they have a puppy, a rescue, an adult dog, or any type of situation. He helps you as the owner realize that your dog wants a strong leader, and in showing your dog that you are a strong leader, you can fix any issue. Doug is patient and kind, he stayed an extra TWO HOURS with us and our dog to help us as much as possible. He charges per session, not hour, so he did not have to do that at all, he did that out of kindness. If you want someone who will help you fix any behavioral issue or introduction or anything, I recommend Doug. He doesn't not use treats, or toys, only energy and body movements. He is kind to the animals and respects them. Highly highly recommend. We rescued our dog about two days ago, he was obviously jumpy and nervous, and had a bad habit of running through doors and not paying attention. After just one hour with Doug, here is a picture of him laying by the door that he refused to let anyone go through before him, and with consistency he is doing even better.  Mind you, the side door was completely open and he was aware of that. Three and a half years ago, two little rescue dogs joined my home and family. With lots of love and a safe home to offer them both, we embarked on our journey. Behavioral issues were evident from the beginning and I though over time these issues would resolve themselves once the dogs felt safe and secure in their new home. Fast forward to today, March 2019, that did not occur. Following an aggressive incident initiated by my female dog against my daughter's dog, I knew the time had come to seek help. The safe home and lots of love I gave the dogs was not enough to solve their behavior issues. So, where do you turn to find just the right trainer and training techniques to best meet the needs of your pets and you as a dog parent? After online research and multiple conversations with the veterinarian, The DOuG Trainer was mentioned as other clients had GREAT success with Doug's training process. With additional research on The DOuG Trainer, I quickly learned his approach to dog training was different than others. I was drawn in by NO choke collars, NO clickers, and NO treat rewards, rather Doug's approach centers on PATIENCE and consistency. I needed the training to better communicate my expectations with my dogs. Just what I was looking for!During the in-home training session last week, Doug demonstrated techniques that were doable and rapidly effective with my little fur children with a significant emphasis on PATIENCE and consistency. Doug encouraged me to follow his lead and work through each technique he showed me. He taught me the importance of my leadership role in my relationship with my dogs. WOW, what a difference within just the first two hours!! Doug taught me how to patiently and assertively address the high energy level in my dogs related to eating, jumping on people, barking at the doorbell,...and other issues. I was shocked at the quick progress! Doug provided a tip sheet for me to follow and reference when correcting unwanted behavior. Since the training session, I have been able to employ the techniques on my own each day with ongoing success. My dogs are rapidly learning what behaviors are acceptable and unacceptable in our home and they are so much CALMER. While my dogs and I have work to do, I'm up for it knowing my pets will be happier, more content, calmer and living their true dog life!Doug is an absolute fabulous teacher. He's patient, encouraging and is readily available to discuss questions I have or just sharing our progress. Today is a follow-up, in-home visit with Doug. I'm excited to show him our progress and learn more from him. I waited way too long to reach out for help - Doug came to my rescue and I'm thrilled to receive his guidance. I knew that I was never the on "in charge" when The Doug Trainer" came to my residence and witnessed my dogs in action. When the dogs came out to meet The Doug Trainer, the female dog was off her leash and friendly and non-threatening. The male dog on the other hand, was on leash and  did bark for more than 5 minutes finally stopping more than likely from exhaustion. The male dog was bolting from couch to couch and through the house The female dog was in her fetching mood and I accommodated her as many times as she dropped the ball at my feet to keep her happy. Both dogs jumped up as I allowed them to, not sure if they wanted me to pick them up and cuddle them but I resisted while the Doug Trainer was present. The Doug Trainer successfully got both dogs to calm and submissive states as we moved from room to room with me by his side to guide me through the  training.Yes I have my work cut out for me and will need to practice patience, and consistency always. I love and cherish my dogs and understand that I must be their leader and in return they will always be calm and submissive and happier than they've ever been. Amazing and eye-opening experience every dog owner should witness! My husband and I are new puppy parents and needed support and guidance on how to control our 9 week old puppy's energy. We were struggling with kennel training and whining. After numerous phone calls to other trainers and training companies, I stumbled upon The DOuG Trainer and decided to give him a call. Doug answered the phone in such a calm and positive tone I could tell he truly wanted to talk and was ready to offer support. Our 45 minutes conversation let me feeling confident and excited about his training styles, teachings, and methods. After our first session The DOuG Trainer used his methods of tapping into mother nature's triggers to get our puppy to be calm and submissive in his kennel. The first time The DOuG Trainer modeled his strategies for my husband and I, our 9 week old pup calmly stayed in his kennel, sound asleep. I was blown away by how our young pup responded so well to his calm but firm voice. After The DOuG Trainer showed us how to get our puppy calm and submissive, it was our turn to try. It was stressful at first, but once we became patient and calm, our puppy began to feel our calmness and started to fall asleep in his kennel. My husband and I are amazed at how these triggers work and are ready to learn how to better use them to nurture a calm and balanced dog for our family. In addition to showing us nature's triggers, The DOuG Trainer also taught us how to better view our relationship with our pup. He explains how dogs need leaders and if their humans do not take that leadership role, they will. My husband and I are beginning to understand this way of thinking and are ready to be the best leaders for our pup! More...

The DOuG Trainer is like nothing I've ever experienced, and I've had dogs all my life and been through several different obedience trainings. This is not a learn how to sit, stay, rollover plan. This is a new way of thinking like a leader. My newly adopted 3-year-old German Shepard/Finnish Spitz mix dog was acting very aloof and stubborn, essentially ignoring me. He also seemed very jumpy and nervous--I was concerned he might bite or become otherwise aggressive, so I contacted Doug. When Doug arrived at my house (on time and with a confirmation call ahead of time), sure enough, Tuck the dog started barking and growling. After ignoring the dog for a while in the foyer, Doug came in and we began my training. Notice I said MY training. Doug and I both worked together on the dog's submission. No harsh words, no physical touch, just peaceful submission. We worked together for four hours. Doug left me with worksheets, post-it reminders, the video of our session, as well as phone support. It has been 2 days now and Tuck is already responding to me. He is well on the way to learning commands, despite the fact that we didn't practice any: only the leadership training. Tuck is also more interested in me, and even curled up on my leg on the couch with me, whereas he'd been too independent in the past. I love this DOuG Trainer philosophy and am thrilled to see it work. I will be continuing to practice this new language with my dog, and even adopt some of the ideas into my daily human life! I highly recommend The DOuGTrainer to build your relationship any dog, problematic or not. More...

He is simply a master at what he does. If you are looking for that trainer that teaches your dog basic behavior and a few tricks Doug is not the trainer for you. There is not enough space to leave a review for the DOuG Trainer. This man TRULY changed my life in 2 visits (actually in 1 visit). I've used dog trainers for years when I was having a difficult problem with a dog. I can truly say that I have never met a human being like this man. Next to the phrase calm and assertive should read DOuG! I am a disabled veteran training 2 dogs (that happened by accident because I thought that Harley my 7 year old Toy Fox Terrier Emotional Support Dog was fine (until DOuG helped me realize that this little 6 pound dog thought he was the pack leader in my home). Then to top it off I have an 85 pound 9 month old German Shepard Service Dog in training who is ALL PUPPY. DOuG has taught my that whether 9 months old or 7 years old I am the pack leader in my home. His methods are like nothing I have ever seen in my 53 years. Because these dogs are vital to my health this has been the most awesome experience that I couldn't describe if I tried. There are truly no words! If you try his training one time I guarantee your life will never be the same. When he walks in to my home the energy changes instantly. And the best thing about DOuG is that he shares his vast knowledge with you. He teaches you how to be calm and assertive which in turn makes your unbalanced dog calm and submissive. He is absolutely the BEST! I guarantee that you will NEVER regret hiring this excellent trainer and super special human being. I used to watch a guy on tv that was coined the Dog Whisperer but trust me, that guy has absolutely nothing on DOuG. I can't tell you how your life will change by hiring this trainer! Additionally, DOuG makes sure we are in touch daily in order to give me additional input. It gives me the opportunity for additional input to be the pack leader that I now KNOW I am. I have 2 rescue dogs and was at wit's end up with the tension just overall imbalance it brought into my human relationship. Since my husband and I had completely different ideas on how to discipline them; he is stern/intimidating and I'm the loving/nurturing one, we just could not see eye to eye and it was evident we were not getting anywhere. One of our dogs is a 1 year old puppy who, although very sweet and playful, did not obey proper boundaries (jumping up on the couch, being pushy and basically getting away with anything she wanted). The other is a 6 year old who suffers separation anxiety and overall nervousness esp. around my husband. I recognized that things were just completely imbalanced with our family and was desperate to find help and harmony. I specifically wanted someone who could teach us calm assertiveness and positive reinforcement to help us with their behavior and reestablish "pack" leadership (we did NOT want someone to use choke/pinch collars or any type of physical force). I quickly learned from our trainer, Doug, that my husband and I were NOT in control. That the dogs viewed us a THEIR followers. Needless to say, we were amazed at how much we were able to accomplish simply using body language, calm energy and basically showing the dogs that WE were their leaders and to finally submit and trust us. We witnessed the dogs physically get to the point of submission and a state of overall "calm." We've still got a long road ahead of us, but Doug gave us the tools to get our dogs to a better place. We both learned so much about paying attention to all of the subtle cues the dogs gave us in their body language, eye contact, everything. My husband and I are finally supporting each other with the dogs and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend "The DOuG Trainer" if you want to learn about yourself and if you're open to changing your own behavior too. More...

I get to teach what the human culture missed out on teaching. Nine years of training has helped me uncover Nature's programming you can trigger to trigger your dog to be calm and submissive and be a balanced dog. Training is always done at your home for convenience, and includes supporting paperwork.

Dog training and dog leadership seems to be so second nature that I took it as a sign that it could be something I could do to pay it forward. Being a teacher at heart, the two compliment each other well.
