Excellent in home training from Cali! We had a great experience with in home training. Cali was very reliable to be there for us and our puppy. We felt at our wits end when we began, and by the end of the first session we felt hopeful that our puppy wasn't going to be a terror on paws. The dog wizard training program was an overall phenomenal experience for our family and our Belgian Malinois Banshee. They communicated through the board and train as often as we asked them too. Amazing. Life was unbearable for me and unfair for Lady. We loved her and she loved us, not a mean bone in her body, but her excitement and our inexperience equaled disaster. Our first session was life changing. That same day I drove home without her chewing my car up, and we could go in the gate to our yard without being jumped on. 8 wks later we all cuddle on the couch, my 5yr old who was scared of her now chases her and lays on her and all the things a little boy should do with his dog. Lady doesn't bark constantly or jump and knock the kids down anymore. If I tell her to sit somewhere she is perfectly happy staying there until I say she can go. Our walks are loose leash and actually no leash if I want to. Truly it's night and day. When I talked with Jon he was next level, clearly an expert in his field, and I immediately knew this was where I needed to go. Our trainer Keila was soooooo kind and patient, she answered questions and gave me reassurance in-between lessons. She knew how to work with Lady and me- not just text book "this is what you do", but really watching how we interacted and taking into account the bigger picture of our life. What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to show people ways to interact with their dogs that opens a whole new world of communication and engagement. People don't get a dog expecting to have issues. They don't expect daily stress, marital issues, home damage, and headaches. What did you imagine when you got your dog? My goal is to bring that image to life, and to keep dogs out of shelters.
What inspired you to start your own business?
There are so many trainers out there who claim they can provide results, and usually those trainers have limited themselves to one type of training method. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach to dog training. Dogs, just like people, are unique in the ways that they think and learn. I decided to launch my own branch of The Dog Wizard because I have access to all of the most modern, world renowned training methods, and have the freedom to discuss which approach my clients are comfortable with. At the end of the day, consistency is key, and if the homework matches your lifestyle, it's much easier to accomplish your training goals and see results!
Why should our clients choose you?
I am a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and an AKC certified evaluator. I've been working with dogs as long as I can remember, but professionally I've been in this field for just under 10 years. I offer lifetime support to all of my program graduates. It's my philosophy that dogs do not make mistakes, they simply haven't been taught how to act in the human environment. It's our job to teach our expectations to provide clear communication for a happy dog, and to build a strong bond between the person and their pet.

Jumpstart sessions are great for folks who don't have time to practice each day with their dog and stay consistent in classes. We have online support on our Private Facebook groups for between in-person sessions. We do not have a program that is solely online.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We ask that everyone bring a mask to class and use it when in close proximity to a class member or trainer. Dog's read your facial expressions so you can remove the mask when properly social distanced. We have plenty of room to spread out and work outside in open-air in downtown Chattanooga. Our outside training area has an overhead awning, coverage from sun & rain. Hand sanitizer is on site, and we encourage our class members to wash their hands before & after class.
Puppy Training
Our rolling-enrollment puppy group class is great to get your new puppy started on the right paw. Once you get started, you have unlimited weekly classes until your pup ages out at 6 months old.
Puppy group class focuses on developing good habits and introducing your little one to obedience commands. The biggest focus in our puppy programs is allowing your puppy to learn important social skills before they age-out of their socialization window. Group Puppy School allows structured socialization time, and includes a Private Facebook group for class communication and support between lessons.
The Puppy Jumpstart covers everything we do in puppy school, without the headache of doing it yourself and practicing at home. Some folks just need a Jumpstart-- We bring your puppy home after their training session and teach you everything you need to maintain the training. Puppy School is included at the conclusion of the Jumpstart Session.

Adult Training Programs
We offer a variety of programs to suit any family's needs. Our mini-group classes are cost-effective ways to learn on-leash obedience and calming techniques which help teach your dog that being calm is rewarding, developing a habit of being more calm overall. You can also move on to the advanced level classes in mini-group to learn off-leash skills and distraction control.
We also have private classes for Foundations (on-leash) and Freedom (off-leash) for folks who prefer one-on-one coaching, or who have severely anxious or reactive dogs that aren't comfortable in a group setting.
Our adult dog Jumpstart programs range from 7 days, 14 days, or 21 days in length. The 7-Day Jumpstart is perfect for on-leash obedience and calming techniques. The 14-Day Jumpstart includes everything in the 7-Day, plus off-leash obedience! The 21-Day Jumpstart is best for dogs who are severely anxious or aggressive, and need a reset to their lifestyle to overcome their fears. Jumpstart sessions include 24/7 care on site, check-ins every 1-3 days with pictures and videos, and follow up lessons to help you maintain what your dog has learned.
