Laura at the Dog Training Academy is the best. I brought my dog Nougat to her for training and she was super professional and really responsive. Nougat also loved her, so that’s a plus. I saw results almost immediately and nougat has been so much better at home (he would chew furniture a lot). I 1000% recommend The Dog Training Academy. Run don’t walk if you need any training services! More...

Laura is the best. She created a detail plan for Jackson, and work together for his anxiety and reactivity. She also was comfortable joining him with other dogs (which other trainers never did) to have walks and teach him to be with other dogs. We are very grateful for Jackson improvement; as we also leave Jackson for boarding and day care (and we pick the plan that includes training to continue improving) More...

What do you love most about your job?
I love to see progress with the dogs I train, and witness happy results in return. Figuring out what a dog needs to excel and reach its full training potential is my drive.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I always knew I would work with animals. Growing up, I wanted to become a veterinarian. However, I could not bear to see animals suffer at the vet hospitals I was interning and volunteering at. I started boarding and caring for dogs over 10 years ago in my own home, and I have developed an acute way of understanding and communicating with them just by working closely with them, and observing them on a daily basis.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have enrolled in a degree in animal behavior where I earned my diploma in dog training. I have extensive knowledge and background experience in the field.
Throughout the years, I have found that using positive reinforcement is the best way to teach dogs what we want. It not only creates an unbreakable bond with their owners, but also positively influences them to please their owners and behave the way their humans want!
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I provide services online or remotely. I would gather information about your dog like its routine, the areas they need work. Afterwards, I will provide tips and remedies to overcome the areas of difficulties you are encountering with your dog.
I will also provide detailed and tailored plan with the steps to change a certain behavior, or teach commands., as well as exercises, homework. Links and demo videos of my training will also be provided to show customers the ways to work with their dogs on a particular cue/ behavior.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Covid-19 has helped figuring out new ways of helping my customers through the internet or phone interviews/communications.
